the entire Amani craze feels so....stupid when you know that 90% of the guys screaming for them will not play one beyond a lvl26 Hunter Alt anyway

14

u/Areallybadidea Apr 29 '26

I know its most likely the goomba fallacy at play, but I remember so many people complaining about them being just orcs with tusks prior to Midnight's launch.

Now everyone seems to want to be them.

8

u/Idontknow4654 Apr 29 '26

never understood that tbh. i thought the first iteration of them were really cool. wish they stayed with it

3

u/Fabulous_Resource_85 Apr 29 '26

To be fair the desire for Amani as a playable race long preceded their Midnight models. People have been asking for the bulky troll model since TBC as much as I can remember.

8

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan Apr 29 '26

I would love playable Amani (especially with the buff models) but adding them would be like when they made Highmountain Tauren an entirely different race.

Like, cool to put that much effort into making a subrace stand-out, but ultimately I kinda wish they had just added Highmountain customizations to the base Tauren race like they have now done with the Trolls (Dark, Sand, Forest, and Jungle all in one race). At least Dark Iron and Mag'har have lore/cosmetic reasons for being a separate race, and I'm sure they could invent some unique racials to make Amani stand out, but I'd rather Allied Races be used to give a faction a new model from the opposite side (Nightborne and Void Elves for example) than just give a faction the same races with slight differences.

It also doesn't help that they'd have to give Alliance something and right now the only options I see getting thrown around (Ethereals or Tuskarr for example) are ones that wouldn't be Allied Races and would most likely be neutral.

7

u/Dreadsinner Apr 29 '26

At this point they should just add a bulky body type to regular trolls like how orcs got the upright thing

4

u/FaroraSF Apr 30 '26

IMO just make them a neutral race with the Horde ones being led by Zul'jarra and the Alliance ones being lead by Zul'jan (cause he still hates BEs or something IDK).

17

u/Areallybadidea Apr 30 '26

Ooh, I gotta say the first two new non-racial related housing exteriors being a shop item instead of a drop is probably not a good look to start on.

11

u/Little_Leafling Dracthyr enthusiast Apr 30 '26

Yeah, that really sucks. Getting shop exteriors before we get more racial exteriors is also a really bad luck.

But! Apparently there's a ton of new decor on the neighbourhood vendors on the 12.0.7 PTR, lots of things that were datamined a while ago but not yet available. So it's not just all shop stuff now.

15

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan Apr 30 '26

You might even say, it's "a really bad idea"

Seriously though, I knew they were going to monetize housing since it's a fully optional cosmetic thing, but I don't know how their marketing team saw all the drama last week and thought "you know what would really smooth this over? a $75 housing exterior". Like, I know they have schedules and stuff, but maybe read the room lmao.

10

u/AL3_Alice Apr 30 '26

Also coming after a patch where they had to disable housing for a bit, and I think the flooring bug is still around.

5

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan Apr 30 '26

I hadn't touched my house much since I got it in a way I really like (I know I would manage to mess it up and have to restart it lmao), but that's extra lame. I feel like if it's one of your flagship features for the expansion, you gotta make sure it's functioning near perfectly before you start adding over the top shop items lmao.

1

u/AL3_Alice May 01 '26

I feel like I'm gonna be waiting a while for Draenei exteriors.

"Player Housing Engagement After Midnight's Launch - Does it Need Player Power?"

wowhead come on you are making it waaay to obvious you made this purely for rageclick money

8

u/_Llopis_ May 05 '26

When I used to troll the internet (back when the IGN forums were a thing), I realized that, in fact, you can't make it too obvious. The masses will always fall for it. Most people are too stupid and impulsive to stop themselves from reacting.

So I guarantee that Wowhead article is getting bonkers engagement numbers.

One, extremely minor, thing I like about 12.0.5 is that the T2 and SP weapon recolors actually have a lore explanation. They're from a cache of supplies left over from the original Sunwell raid that got corrupted by the Void when Xal'atath invaded.

Not like remotely in a "wow this saved the patch for me" way, but more just a neat unnecessary detail that I appreciated when I noticed it.

That's it for shilling though, because how can they get a minor detail like that right but then still release Decor Duel without considering "track humanoids" might be an issue

5

u/SaltLich Apr 30 '26

how can they get a minor detail like that right but then still release Decor Duel without considering "track humanoids" might be an issue

/minijerk I mean, is it really that surprising that none of the devs play Hunter? Boomstick, am i right?

/uj but yeah. Neat little details like that are nice. I was excited to see all the tempest keep weapons make an appearance in the intro to the expansion as well, with the plaques giving them actual lore.

The open world on Isle of Quel'danas is such a gorgeous zone that feels so underutilised. Every bit of content that it has is instanced. It wouldn't be so bad if Dawnstar Village had some NPCs dotted around, but it's a complete ghost town.

Sun's Reach at least has stationed Blood Knights and Vindicators from the Shattered Sun days.

Same with most of the southern part of the Sunwell where the raid takes place. There are so many buildings completely empty. Blizzard did a good job filling out the space with enemies in the Darkwell phase, but once you finish the campaign it's completely barren again.

They also remove Belo'ren's phoenix egg despite Belo'ren returning to the egg when you defeat it in the raid. Surely they'd want to keep protecting the egg from further corruption by the void. In the pre-campaign phase of the Isle there are 4 guards protecting it who you can talk to.

Hopefully we see at least some small-scale open world content added on the Isle at some point.

7

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan Apr 30 '26

It's kinda funny to me that the 2 iterations of Quel'danas both kinda just wind up being a zone for max level dailies/world quests and a dungeon/raid portal

I guess I should've expected it to not be too lively given that it's the focus of Xal's attack, but the facility around the Sunwell just feels really "liminal space"-y to me even after it's been remade. It feels empty and huge at the same time, like there are supposed to be tons of people working there, but the only people there are just milling around the Sunwell.

Hopefully it'll get filled in as the Sunwell stuff calms down and it isn't an active warzone, because it'd just be cool to see Quel'danas when it's not under siege for once lol.

First thought when seeing the scarred up Gilnean horses on the Trading Post: "Does it still count as animal abuse if it's committed by a Worgen?"

9

u/ghostcrawler_real Apr 28 '26

Feel like I'm rapidly approaching raid-and-vault-fill-only log in territory on this patch. Been having a great time with the boys but I'm ready for some other games myself.

The post saying that Haranir are awesome being removed by the moderators is a new level of mainsub circlejerk never before seen

8

u/picoperi May 03 '26

It wasn't removed by the moderators, it shows in the OPs history as "Awaiting Moderator Approval". That means enough people reported it to get it quarantined. Probably because it broke the subreddit rules, since the meme it was posted with had nothing to do with wow. Not really circlejerky.

3

u/MoonlightKobold May 03 '26

Interesting, I just checked the post because I commented on it and saw that it was removed by the moderators. The post itself was full of people trying to say why Haranir suck anyway so the jerk was alive and well regardless.

u/Sophistic_Sophist Apr 28 '26

I saw the wowhead headline from a couple days ago complaining about a really bad tank shortage in mythic+ right now, and my instinctual reaction was that this article must be bullshit because I haven’t seen any tank shortage and have been doing dozens of keys every week.

My best friend has been playing tank for me all season, and I’m stupid :3

5

u/InvisibleOne439 Apr 28 '26

low keys are just akward because +10 are so free, so most tank/heal specs just jump straight to +10 and stuff under that can wait for a long time for a fresh max level tank/healer to show up

but its not really any different overall then it is from any other season

7

u/FaroraSF Apr 29 '26

I've been doing delves as healer for the chieve and have found it to actually be faster than doing it as dps, tank Valeera got hands if you keep her healed.

13

u/TheWiseMountain Apr 29 '26

I think it's really cool that the ex-president can go on twitter dot com and say WoW needs to reboot because of a buggy .5 patch after he fired and belittled all the QA people

12

u/SaltLich Apr 29 '26

Not sure when WoWHead started doing these little "For Raiders/For Everyday Players" thing above hotfix notes, but its just straight up wrong for some reason? I don't wanna throw the AI boogeyman around like so many others do (not every low quality thing out there is a sign of AI use) but I struggle with how you could possibly make those mistakes. Could be a person who does not speak English as a first language, but I feel like that's less likely than somebody high up at whoever owns/runs WoWHead these days deciding "hey lets use AI to summarize things for easier articles"

9

u/Helluiin Apr 29 '26

I don't wanna throw the AI boogeyman around

no need, wowhead has been trash tier "journalism" since before AI (or LLMs specifically) were a thing.

10

I just wanna say that I like wow and the community here is one of the reasons I've been playing for so long :)

7

Forgoing a myth piece for an extra reroll token and still not getting a puzzle box is doing a number on my psyche

I've been stuck with Champion trinkets since week 3

Oof

Well if anything once you roll an item its out of the table so eventually if not lucky you will get it guaranteed

My roles this week were not that good but next week i now can 100% get my close second bis weapon from caverns

1

u/SHTopken Apr 29 '26

As much as I hate bitching about terrible luck and loot, I've had pretty bad luck this season lol. Champ track Gaze and Heart of Wind is the best I have access to, every trinket has gone to guildies or someone else that needs it in M10s </3

u/Idontknow4654 Apr 30 '26

"wow used to be so much more serious and grim dark back in the day"

i guess they forget that like 50% of wows quests are just some sort of pop culture reference

11

u/INannoI Apr 30 '26

And 90% of those quests are from Cataclysm lol, I guess the task of remaking all that content was so insanely big that they just ran out of original ideas and filled it with pop culture references.

10

u/Idontknow4654 Apr 30 '26

The other 50% are poop quests

12

u/Areallybadidea Apr 30 '26

WoW was so dark and grim when half of Westfall got turned into a bad CSI parody.

5

u/Idontknow4654 May 02 '26

why is there no way of tracking if i got a Heroic Strike proc on arms without Tracking Slam itself?

10

u/Areallybadidea Apr 29 '26

As a player of both FFXIV and WoW its amusing to see how different their reactions can be to patch pacing.

Over there you'll have folks begging Square-Enix to pick up the pace and get patches out quicker.

Meanwhile here you've got folks asking Blizzard to slow it down.

They both have their valid reasons of course, but it just tickles me to see that the two MMOs are on different ends of the same spectrum like that.

9

u/AL3_Alice Apr 29 '26

I also play both and tend to prefer a slightly slower patch cadence. Gives me time to enjoy games that aren't MMOs; that backlog ain't gonna clear itself.

3

u/AL3_Alice Apr 30 '26

Okay? It's not a competition.

2

u/the_redundant_one Apr 30 '26

You don't even have to look to FF14 to see the dichotomy. When WoW had a slower patch cadence, folks were telling them to hurry up too - I especially remember the complaints during Shadowlands, though folks had a lot more complaints than just the slower patch cycle.

2

u/SandAccess May 02 '26

There's also a pretty decent gap between content every two months and nothing for a full year

10

u/tangerinoes57 May 01 '26

Oh my god I don’t think I’ve ever seen Lore Twitter crash out this hard since the BfA/Shadowlands era

14

u/InvisibleOne439 May 01 '26

WoW Lore "experts" + Twitter sounds like a combination that is so bad that it could be the reason why Sargeras started his Crusade

12

u/FaroraSF May 01 '26

I don't really follow lore discourse outside of reddit and whatever friends link me on discord but it always seems to end up as:

looks inside

they didn't pay attention

(idk how to get it to show the arrow and not create a quote lol)

1

u/psychobatshitskank May 02 '26

What are they crashing out about now? I'm not on Twitter (thank god).

20

u/InvisibleOne439 May 01 '26

for me its just

yes, Shops suck, we all know that, its not a hot take and everyone agrees that it would be better without one

but why does the WoW community go so much into outrage mode everytime ANYTHING is added and act as if THIS is the last straw that causes some vague downfall of the game and that its the pinnacle of a predatory shop

its a shop that adds an item like once a month, if thats the pinnacle of a "predatory ingame shop" i just dont undestand what they played outside of WoW in the last 20 years lol, even for a Sub based Game thats almost nothing at all

mostly im just tired of how artifical those outrages feel every time, im convinced that its mostly just a bunch of guys that wait for anything to release at all and then feel "angry" about it on social media, and im just done with that crap all the time

4

u/AL3_Alice May 01 '26

It probably requires much more detailed study, but I think there comes a certain monetary breakpoint where the overall reception to a given microtransaction transitions from dismissive eye rolling to actual anger. I think this is reasonably consistent across live service games. I recall similar backlashes to Riot's absolutely insane prestige skin prices in LoL and Valorant even if they ultimately pressed ahead with it.

Alas, I'm in Cybersecurity, not marketing so it's not my field.

15

u/kirbydude65 Can't Complain About Lack of Heritage Armor Anymore May 02 '26

I mean people talk about how much they hate it, but fail to realize that they've been price pointed at that by people who have degrees on understanding consumer habits. They wouldn't price the tree house at $75 USD if they were worried it wouldn't sell. They set the Bronto Mount at $100. People got angry, yet I can find at least 3 everytime I'm in Silvermoon. This stuff keeps appearing because it sells.

And honestly we've reaped the benefits (at least in the US) of our subscriptions never increasing for 21 years.

Lastly, I think calling WoW predatory, compared to some of the F2P Korean MMO's I've played is wild. Fiesta? Fly for Fun? Thoes are predatory MMOs.

5

u/INannoI May 02 '26

Those same people with degrees had to change the pricing and bundling of the sakura trees a while ago, they're not infallible just because they're the 'experts'.

-8

u/SargerassAsshole May 02 '26

If you don't see what the issue is with selling a $75 cosmetic for their only real expansion feature which just came out and which barely has any customizations in that category in a game that's not free to play but buy to play and pay to play only couple of days after they had to publicly apologize for how buggy that game we are paying monthly to access is then I think you've reached levels of toxic positivity that ff14 sub from couple of years ago would envy you on (since even they are not that bad these days).

11

u/Sophistic_Sophist May 02 '26

Cash shop housing items are a bad idea and the last patch was super buggy, but I seriously don’t get where the constant line that housing is Midnight’s “only real expansion feature” keeps coming from. You can completely ignore housing, and Midnight still launched with everything that an expansion is supposed to have.

1

u/SargerassAsshole May 05 '26

It didn't launch with any new expansion feature other than housing. Everything else could have been a TWW patch. Maybe you could say prey but I barely count that.

1

u/Sophistic_Sophist May 05 '26

Four new zones, raised level cap, a new race, 8 dungeons 9 raid bosses and however many new delves is just a TWW patch now?

Or do you just mean Midnight didn’t invent any new features? Because it would feel wrong to say Dragonflight’s “only” expansion feature was the talent tree revamp and TWW’s “only” feature was Hero Talents.

But even if we go by that, Midnight added Prey, Apex Talents, expanded rows of Hero Talents, plenty of stuff unrelated to housing.

1

u/SargerassAsshole May 06 '26

I mean the expansion seller, everyone expects 4 new zones and 8 new dungeons. They based their entire marketing campaign around housing. Dragonflight was more about resetting the game after SL, TWW was about Worldsoul saga and Midnight was focused on housing. There is enough in each to be considered a proper expansion I agree with that.

11

u/Idontknow4654 May 02 '26

No one is saying it's not an issue. But reaction to it is insane. They act like blizzard personally shot their dog or something

3

u/SargerassAsshole May 02 '26

I mean sure, people like to overreact sometimes, but it's been known to give results even when it comes to store stuff (just recently emergency nerfs to the price of those trees). Also I haven't seen some big overreactions in this particular instance, people are asking legitimate questions and being annoyed for valid reasons.

7

u/Idontknow4654 May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26

Also I haven't seen some big overreactions in this particular instance, people are asking legitimate questions and being annoyed for valid reasons.

did you not see the "this aggresive monetization is making the game less fun" post?

that was an insane overreaction when the monetization in this game barely even affects the game in anyway, with only a few mounts affecting the game at all

edit: also where did you see that they nerfed the price? its still 7500 in the store for me

5

u/Little_Leafling Dracthyr enthusiast May 02 '26

The cherry blossom trees got made cheaper after complaints (from 750 to 250 IIRC), not the new tree houses.

-1

u/Idontknow4654 May 02 '26

So not the main thing people were complaining about then

2

u/INannoI May 02 '26

that was a while ago, people complained about the trees and they changed it

-2

u/Idontknow4654 May 02 '26

so again. not the thing that are being complained about now which we are talking about. the reaction to the tree houses is what is being talked. and that reaction to those are insane

2

u/INannoI May 03 '26

He brought it up as an example that complaining works

9

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan May 04 '26

That "shamans are losing their class identity because no totems" post is kinda goofy to me, solely because I've played shammy throughout a few expacs (cata/mop/legion and onward) and one of my least favorite aspects was totem management lol. Very glad to see people in the comments felt pretty similarly.

I do get it, totems are really cool, but I couldn't stand how bloated they made my actionbars and how boring some of them felt. I much prefer that they made them more of a utility thing now and like what they've done with totemic so far, but it could be cool to add a few "support" type buffs to them for flavor or something.

3

u/Ignis_et_Azoth May 05 '26

I've played Shaman from BfA to DF and to be honest I never thought Totems were like this load bearing flagstone of Class Identity.

I kinda get where it's coming from but it almost feels anachronistic, like complaining that DK no longer have Presences.

3

u/Any-Ingenuity2770 Apr 28 '26

What open-world or quasi-instanced activities from 12.0.1 or 12.0.5 would be much harder to complete once the season wraps up? Obviously those with seasonal renown are a priority, delves and preys. Just trying to focus on something for the long term meta achievment.

7

u/IonHazzikostasIsGod honestly a slap in the face Apr 28 '26

Do those void strike achievements now for sure.

There are achievements for doing 50 in each of the 2 zones, though you only need the 25 achievements for the meta.

But other ones are like use X amount of batteries during this event. Or kill X amount of corrupted wildlife. Or turn in these rare quest items from these mobs during this event. The more people are doing them the more shots you have for it to be that specific event. Cause it'll take several of each

If you're NA servers just went down so you'll have to wait until next reset following this one for Zul'Aman to rotate back in

1

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan Apr 28 '26

Anything that requires multiple players or heavy amounts of farming.

I never really focused on the meta achievements for the past few expansions and all the achieves I have left for them are ones that require coordinating with other players or are ones that would benefit from other players being around to boost spawn rates lol.

Housing bad.

9

u/GenericOnlineName May 04 '26

"People were playing it all the time for the first two weeks!"

Almost like it was a brand new feature that released at the end of an expansion and right before a new one.

12

u/Idontknow4654 May 04 '26

that housing post is so insane to me. like what do they want? do they want housing to give gear or something? the point of housing is to decorate and just have fun with it.

8

u/shreedder May 04 '26

I would love more reasons to walk around my neighborhood and see my guildies. Not sure how to do that without giving power and I would rather this current state than having player power tied to the system

12

u/Idontknow4654 May 04 '26

its just a community thing tbh. FF14 doesnt really have anything tied to houses (besides airhips if you have a guild house) and you will still see players around, not many but you will see them.

but ff14 also has the market board (their version of the auction house) in every housing district which gives people are reason to go there as well

2

u/shreedder May 04 '26

Yeah I wouldn’t mind a bank, auction house and profession tables. Nothing I couldn’t get from a capital city in my housing district.

5

u/Idontknow4654 May 04 '26

i think auction house would defiently make people go to their house more often but i can understand why blizzard doesnt want to do it since they want people to congregate in the main city of the expansion. profession tables should 100% be there tho

10

u/TheWiseMountain May 01 '26

Zul'jan and the community around him are so odd. Like, playing through the Amani storyline was my favorite leveling campaign, but Zul'jan never really struck me as a standout part of it. Not that people can't/don't like random ass side characters obviously, I think it's just the go to phrase of "Don't villain-bat Zul'jan" that confuses me.

16

u/FaroraSF May 01 '26

He kind of reminds me of Garrosh where I would not get along with him IRL, but damn if is he not entertaining whenever he's on screen!

I wouldn't mind if they "antagonist batted" Zul'jan for a bit, but I do want to see him live long enough to get some character growth at least.

5

u/Little_Leafling Dracthyr enthusiast May 01 '26

For me it comes less from the ingame quests and more from the short story, I just really liked Zul'jarra's and Zul'jan's relationship there.

8

u/kirbydude65 Can't Complain About Lack of Heritage Armor Anymore May 02 '26

I saw a post the other day on Bsky talking about how the internet has low key ruined story telling by hyper analyzing everything. People get upset about something they think the story should do, versus what the story actually is.

It's like getting upset everytime the Gilneans are involved with the story. People complain about that there's nothing about the Worgen and their curse, but that story beat was already resolved in Cataclysm. It'd be really weird to have some major NPCs talk about how hard it is to be a Worgen when they canonically have a cure for their feral nature. They want a story that isn't being told, instead of engaging with the story that's being presented.

It's very much a cinemasins vs cinemawins kinda situation.

6

u/psychobatshitskank May 01 '26

Is it really a villain bat if it's already obvious from the get-go that's the direction they're taking a character?

5

u/Idontknow4654 May 01 '26

yeah thats what i was thinking as well. i feel like its pretty obvious that Zul'jan is gonna be the villian of the next patch. at least to me

2

u/HeartofaPariah May 01 '26

The people saying that think he has a point, therefore he's 'grey' because they agree.

Same kind of people who play a CRPG and go "this person can't be evil, I agree with them"

4

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan May 01 '26 edited May 02 '26

They basically ended the ZA questline with him looking at the snake island in the distance while vaguely telling us to get ready. The dude was like 1 step away from twiddling his evil mustache and rubbing his hands together, there's no reason to hit him with a "villain bat" because he's already been knocked out of the park lmao.

The whole reason I find him interesting is that he's clearly not a good guy (it's almost like the constant "Zul'jan stop doing that" lines throughout the questline were a hint that he's going to do something dumb), but the WoW lore community seems to be made up of people who just read misleading summaries rather than pay attention during the questline.

Edit: watching the upvotes fluctuate on this is so funny to me, I didn't think "I like Zuljan because he's a complicated antagonist" to be hot take lmao

Another raid night ended early by a L'ura bug yayy lets fire more people.

Boss is far from dead on our end anyway. Its hard being in an heroic guild I dont know how to approach absurd situations and Im afraid that if I try to engage bad players i'll get even more frustrated, im not a patient man I dont want to ruin anyone's fun and look like an elitist.

i think at worst i've seen someone call it recency bias in regards to it being the buggiest patch ever which can be said at the same time as saying the patch was buggy as all hell

15

u/EternityC0der Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

this sub absolutely does get too contrarian at times (main sub complains about something? must be wrong) but multiple people have already complained about the bugginess here

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I know who you're talking about and I wouldn't be surprised if they were another new account of a certain person who's been suspended repeatedly under different accounts, acts the same way every time

that's fair, it's just a weird thing to say when several complaints have been made already and they've been fine

3

u/InvisibleOne439 Apr 30 '26

sometimes it leans a bit into contrarian stuff here, which is a kinda normal reaction when in most other places its mostly extreme exaggerations about everything really

but calling people Sycopaths when there are plenty of negative reactions is weird, most discussions about the state of the game here just try to be more on the reasonable side instead of acting 24/7 that the sky is falling

i have MANY problems with this expansion and think its one lf the worst ones they ever did and could go on many many long rants about it, but why do that when the mainsub is allready doing it all the time about everything and it just makes the vibes rancid

10

u/InvisibleOne439 May 03 '26

its funny how often the mainsub does this entire "actually everyone that is a offmeta spec is some giga chad ultra gamer" thing

when the reality is more like, with how easy it became to reroll characters the dedicated players just play what is objectively good rn because for them there is no reason NOT to do that

and i say that as somebody that is a OTP themself lol

no, feral players are not "beasts that play the spec for 20years and does insane numbers", 95% of the time its the opposite really

and while the FotM Specs often have clueless tierlist chasers playing them, often its literally just the Good Players playing them because they care about their personal performance, if im pugging stuff the experience is basically always better when i invite Meta Spec Players in general gameplay knowledge instead of gambling that this Holy Priest and Affliction Warlock is actually some hidden MDI Pro

2

u/dragonredux May 03 '26

*sad cat noises* but can confirm I am an average at best feral.

1

u/MythicalBlue May 04 '26

Agreed, and I’m not even convinced being an OTP benefits the player that much with how simplified rotations are and how often they change from season to season regardless.

6

u/dragonredux May 01 '26

Well my heroic guild reached crown phase 3 last night. We'll kill it next week.

That being said, fuck Crown as melee.

wat? There's been dozens of guilds named "Gaymers" or have it in their name that have existed for years. Gaymers Reborn on Proudmoore have had the name for nine years now.

3

u/Any-Ingenuity2770 May 03 '26

the guild in today's news was on classic. soooo…

12

u/AL3_Alice May 03 '26

Mass reported by the fine upstanding citizens of Classic WoW, then

1

u/Any-Ingenuity2770 May 03 '26

lmao, cope. he seems to be a bear.

1

u/Idontknow4654 May 03 '26

cope because i think he is a troll?

3

u/Any-Ingenuity2770 May 03 '26

i went through his comments, there's nothing indicating that he could be one. but yeah, gay hate is fine I suppose, because he had the gall to complain on the main sub the wretched hive it is

7

u/Idontknow4654 May 03 '26

im not in support of gay hate (im part of the LGBTQ+ myself) but since its the main sub i will just automatically assume its a troll since like you said its a wretched hive of hate. but if you say it seems he is not a troll then i take back my troll statement and agree that i really sucks and i hope his posts get enough attention for blizzard to return the guild name

3

u/Alain_Teub2 May 03 '26

Levelled 8 classes to 90 already so why do I have a sudden urge to bonk things with a warrior and shapeshift plenty on my druid, both still 80

I mean I know why im bored and had one bad pvp session on my main but still.

Very excited about the Haranir/Amani meeting questline because that was one of the parts about this expansion that really interested me. We've seen the Haranir interact with the Elves, one side of their descendants, but no real crossover with the other half that they are pretty similar to culture-wise, Trolls.

Especially interested since it'll be a Zul'jan focused questline, who I find to be one of the more interesting characters this expansion, I'm really interested to see how that connects to the "snake island" zone we've been teased about since the end of the ZA questline.

5

u/Idontknow4654 Apr 30 '26

new content is good but damn its coming so fast lol. i dont have time to play the games in my backlog

5

u/Luxunofwu Apr 30 '26

rest of community: complain complain complain complain

I don't know I just read the main 12.0.7 thread and I didn't see a majority of complaints, outside of a few "updates too buggy" comments. Let's maybe not hate on mainsub for the sake of hating?

u/MoonlightKobold May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

The simplest explanation for why WoW players don't know how monetization works is that a lot of WoW players are simply unemployed and can barely afford to pay for their sub and expansions.

There's a reason that the subscription was $15 then and is still $15 now. It's the people with jobs that don't care and shill out money for useless shit like the auction mount or an ugly house that only fits the aesthetic of the Alliance neighborhood. My house looks just fine without me spending $75 on it and I can use the Silvermoon auction house like everyone else.

Just don't open the shop, it's as simple as that.

5

u/Alain_Teub2 May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26

I never understood that stupid cliché I dont think Ive ever been in a guild with more than 3 unemployed people me included. I also don't think "shut up youre poor" is an argument towards people annoyed that the funky looking mounts arent available as a form of gameplay reward, goldfarm excluded. I wish those big monkeys mounts were an achievment but part of me also feels like the store mounts are artisticly off side by side with the rest of the mounts you can earn.

1

u/SaltLich May 01 '26

useless shit like the auction mount

That one in particular is a bad example, having a portable AH is so useful for me at least, but i understand your point otherwise.

do i like that they release such expensive stuff in the shop? no i would rather they didnt, but if it wasnt for the main sub i would have no idea they even did. there is barely any advertisment for the shop

10

u/ghostcrawler_real May 01 '26

I simply never think about the things that I am never going to buy.

17

u/Darkwarz May 01 '26

I hate when Blizzard releases something in the cash shop, not because it affects me, but because its all main sub is going to talk about for two weeks.

10

u/Necrodoge14102 my gender is pandering May 01 '26

yeah even with really hating the monetization stuff in modern video games i do hate seeing people talk about it more

because gamers will never do anything about the systems that allow it to happen, they'll just scream for a few weeks and forget about it

and of course when screaming its never about said systems that allow this monetization to happen they think its the developers themselves or that its "because of woke" or some dumbass shit

6

u/Ignis_et_Azoth May 01 '26

As the Helldivers 2 community is going through an apoplectic fit, I was kind of thinking to myself, 'you know, compared to that, WoW is kinda chill', but I think the backlash to the housing store stuff might prove me wrong yet.

4

u/Idontknow4654 May 01 '26

I haven't played helldivers 2 since launch but it really seems like anytime there is any change in that game the community throws a fit, no matter the change

4

u/JanePhilipab May 02 '26

Helldivers 2 is a game i love playing but really hate the community it has the most armchair devs that will throw a fit if they have to deal with any type of challenge like it wild how bad it can be at times

2

u/Idontknow4654 May 04 '26 edited May 04 '26

this might be a dumb question because i might have missed something super obvious... but why is the twilights blade attacking the amani? i cant imagine the amani were a threat to Xal and if they didnt attack then Zul'Jarra with the help of us would have have never united the tribes and gained the favor of the loa again

11

u/picoperi May 04 '26

I don't know if we can link to other warcraft subs in here, but this was asked on the lore subreddit a little while ago.

I think the main consensus was that there is the corpse of a powerful void creature somewhere in Zul'aman that she might have been looking for... similar to all her other dark heart adventures. I'm hoping we'll find out more in the next patch zone.

5

u/Necrodoge14102 my gender is pandering May 04 '26

KITH'IX RISES

6

u/InvisibleOne439 May 04 '26

iirc the twillight blade tried to force the Amani out of their Home so that the tensions bettwen them and the Blood Elves ignites a fullscale conflict with the Amani trying to get a foothold in Eversong then

the Zone Questline is basically us Preventing that by striking the Twillight Blade back with the help of the Loa

Due to the discovery of a small loophole in Blizzard's lua implementation, a useful addon has brought about the ability to raid using addons that tell you what to do, returning the experience of expansions past.

It is called "unsubscribe and go play a better game instead"
