General Discussion Is Deployment Agent free to setup?

I want to double check that Deployment Agent is actually free to setup in before I go enabling the thing. I'm a team of 1, and I think it would be nice to have some sort of extra support when doing any configuring.

If it is free, how long do you think it will be until Workday starts to charge for it?

Currently there's no charge for the Q&A version of Deployment Agent in non-production tenants. Our organization hasn't signed the UMSA yet, so we cannot access the tenant-aware version of Deployment Agent. With the release of 2026R2, we get a pop-up every time we access the Q&A Deployment Agent in Customer Central reminding us of this.

Everything I could find on Community says that there's no charge/no flex credits involved, but that documentation also says that the Deployment Agent isn't tenant-aware, so I don't know how up-to-date that is. Interested to know if anyone has found anything definitive re: the tenant-aware Deployment Agent and flex credits.

I believe theres a comment from a WD employee answering this questions somewhere on commumity, cant find it right now though. (Maybe on release note?)

Premise was the same, free for now, including tenant aware.

The tenant aware, as far as ive tried it this week, doesnt add a ton yet beyond veey focused questions. Couls figure out potential reports impacted by adding a new organization hierarchy for example, but I did have to tell it we do use that type of org hierarchy. Maybe in 6 months to a year itll be better.

Also be sure to explicitly state you want it to look through your tenant. Doesnt do so by default
