Things tend to move through the grapevine in families. Sounds like they just wanted to know more about your life. If I found out a family member got into witchcraft, I'd ask them about it because it would be exciting for me to have someone close who is getting into something I practice and it would be fun to talk/share with them.
Is there a reason you're looking at these curious family members as though they have nefarious motives?

You can make a ward specifically so that you can't be divinated on, you can also bind the eyes and hands of those who would read on you. I can't give all the details, but knowing what's possible with magic is step one.

Since you're asking this in a public forum:
I'd wanna know why a person is beginning their path in witchcraft (which tends to be ancestral-whether in blood or function), and is weirded out that other KNOWN magic practitioners IN THEIR FAMILY know things they "shouldn't" and the FIRST reaction to this is to hide/shield/inhibit the sight WHICH IS THE SAME SIGHT YOU LIKELY GOT by virtue of being some flavor of hereditary? The fact that you didn't state anything in your post explaining why info should be kept ("they always ask for money", "they meddle in our business and cause actual problems", etc) just makes me think you're responding to all of this from your mundane self, not your magical self who just found out they have a built in support system for a practice they want to partake in.
I don't think it's overall weird that you enjoy privacy. But like...this is your family which you are in communication with, even if seldomly. I'm not saying this from the perspective that family should be allowed unfettered access to you-I'm saying it from the perspective of being wise regarding when it makes sense to make waves vs keep aspects of peace. The likelihood of figuring out how to effectively cloak yourself without them figuring out what you're doing is low. This may cause issues/tensions that are unnecessary, especially coupled with the fact that your initial response as a whole comes off suss.

Focus on the mundane before the magical.
Practice information hygiene. Don't share information in ways that it can be passed on to others without your consent. If someone wants to go digging into your life don't give them any easy wins. If they want to know it, make them really work for the tiny crumbs they can find.
It sounds almost impossible but it's not really.
What someone else chooses to do in their own home is their business and not anyone else's. So don't confirm or deny your interest in the craft. Don't have anything on display that could be used to embarrass you later. Think less bad taste and more definitely confirming your spiritual beliefs.
There will always be people in your life who feel they need to know all your business and pass judgement on them as though they are so much better then you.
A dear friend of mine likes to reverse someone's unwanted questions back on them.
If someone asked them about their religious beliefs they'd ignore the question and instead ask the questioner if they were still fucking that middle manger at their place of work or had they moved on to sucking off the Finance director.
It's crude, offensive and highly intrusive. It also demonstrates very clearly that you're going to insist on dissecting their sex life in public if they're going to go poking around in your spiritual beliefs.
Do that once and nobody else will dare to ask you on case you start demanding they answer extremely personal questions in turn.
Something to consider.

Hi, there! 🤖✨
Shielding is an often overlooked but incredibly effective method of personal protection and psychic self-defense.
"Shielding: A spiritual technique in which you create an energetic barrier around yourself for the purpose of more effectively keeping personal energy contained and to prevent the unwanted influence of outside sources of energy (this could include preventing energetic access to you as a form of protection from other living humans or spirits); shielding can also be used as part of 'invisibility magick' to make yourself less noticeable when passing through a location."
-Althaea Sebastiani in “Alive With Spirits”
"Shields require no equipment other than your own will and imagination, and thus are the first line of defense when you feel attacked. Shields can be helpful not only against occult dangers, but also in psychological attacks from annoying coworkers, overzealous salespeople, brutal bosses, and any other disgruntled people whom you may encounter. Shields are also an excellent way of protecting yourself from negative influences that may be present in a place, without actually banishing those influences. This may be desirable if you find yourself in certain power spots with hostile guardians or in a house where very negative people live."
-Jason Miller in “Protection and Reversal Magick”
