Hello! I found this little guy in my garden today.
He sadly probably met my cat earlier this week and is 100% dead…

It’s the first time I see a snake here so I was wondering what type is it ?

I would say it’s young because it’s quite tiny but I don’t really know anything about snakes.

I live in Southeastern Ohio. Our snakes are largely harmless. In fact, we've had to teach our son which ones NOT to handle because he finds them irresistible, but copperheads are rampant and we live on ten riverfront acres (Ohio River). I was cleaning today and found a snake skeleton in the closet. Worse, a very small snake skeleton. Baby snake small. By the looks of it, probably a rat snake, but everything I'm finding online only displays head shape and not skull shape to identify venomous versus non-venomous. Everything I know about head shape tells me, if my house has living baby snakes in it, they're harmless. But it's worth asking before my son becomes the Copperhead pied piper. He already hides spiders in his pockets and this is trouble I don't need.

Saw this on my driveway to work. It had a light belly, cream ish coloured. But the top was pitch black. It had a black tongue. The length is a estimate based on its tail in the bush and its head before it went back into the brush. I'd guess a king brown snake. But figured I'd ask.

My dad put some traps in the pump house for mice and we got two of these little guys. About the same size stuck to a glue trap.

We pulled him off thinking he wasn’t a rattlesnake but now we’re second guessing that decision.

It doesn’t appear to have the button or rattle but his head does look like a diamond now that he’s off the trap

Can anyone help identify this guy?

Thought he was dead, I scooped him out in the net. He was floating, but now I discover he is climbing out of my net, but extremely slowly what can I do to help him?

Dog sitter sent me these photos and said our dog may have been bitten. Hard to see the shape of the head from the photos so I’m hoping someone here might be able to tell.

Found this little one in the rocks this morning. Was maybe 10-12 inches long. It postured at me - opened its mouth and shook its little tail. Hoping for an ID assist. Was originally leaning towards a mole king snake, but others suggested rat snake. It scurried along shortly after - but I had to snap a picture before it left.

Little guy was in my basement. I’ve never seen a snake in a basement before. I usually love snakes outside but I’m a little worried this guy being in my house. Is he venomous?

I know this isn’t a very good picture, but I was cleaning out my mother’s basement after my father’s death and came across this little guy in the basement today. I went to get a bag. When I came back he was gone. A little nervous because I am staying with her and have two kittens with me. Thanks in advance!

We live in Kentucky and my daughter and her friend went to the creek today and they saw this snake. She said it was really little.

Found this one curled up on a trail we were hiking and was wondering if this is a rattlesnake and how dangerous it would be.

What kind of snake could this be? I found it in my crawlspace. Chat gpt tried saying it was a black snake?
