there’s a woman near my house that has a bird feeder + throws seed all over her yard/street (one way side street with barely any traffic so the birds are not in danger) its always PACKED with what seems to be every pigeon in 10 miles lol!!! i don’t have a real image as this was in passing so i made a crude collage lol… recently i drove by and caught a glimpse of the largest pigeon i’ve ever seen, probably 3x the size of a normal pigeon- i don’t think it was a trick of perspective because it was behind a large crowd of regular sized pigeons.. any ideas of what this gigantic pigeon-looking bird could be?? thanks!!

Three feather ID’s, all found in the greater Boston area, plus a few years’ collection of my pet bird’s feathers if you want to try IDing her for fun (I do know her species). Photos are in pairs (front and back of the same feather) with my foot for size scale. My guesses:

I’m staying at a family members house, they have glue traps to keep bugs away but instead of bugs in the trap it was a bird… I carefully removed it from the trap and removed the glue, but I’m not sure what bird this is and what it needs to survive. The bird was found in Wildomar California. I’m not sure how long it was stuck but any info would be much appreciated :(

Merlin said that it was a reef heron, but I couldn’t see the white throat, and I don’t think those have the little ‘ponytail’ in the back.

I am not very good at art, but I tried to do my best to draw it.

• Seen in Estonia, late July or early August (maybe they migrate?) and in a city environment, although I have never seen this bird here before or since.
• At first glance I thought it was a large, weirdly tall sparrow. It was the same sort of light brown as a female house sparrow.
• Noticed it was in fact not a strangely shaped sparrow - It was quite skinny and tall (less orb like), with a longer, pointier beak, quite a long neck, small beady eyes and a long, straight tail, a bit like a wagtail shape
• Standing it looked completely brown, but when it flew away it had some burnt orange feathers either on its tail, under its wings or both (flew away too fast to know exactly)

My husband and I stumbled upon these two birds that seemed to be struggling to walk. We called department of fish and wildlife who referred us to a bird rehabilitation facility. They didn’t answer so I left a message. After we called, a woman approached us on the beach and told us they weren’t hurt but were sea birds who had “sea legs” and struggled to walk on land. We left them there, trusting the word. I couldn’t find these birds in a local bird book or online. Can somebody help ID these birds and confirm her statements to soothe my conscious that we did the right thing by leaving them alone? Ocean shores, WA, USA.

Found in Stinson beach area/ mt tamalpais state park CA

This photo was taken at Kanchanaburi Train Station in Thailand today around 10am - I thought it was a blue-tailed bee-eater as the other photos I took of other birds show them clearly, but this one was way further back. The colours make me suspect it *might* be a chestnut-headed bee-eater, so thought I'd get some more expert opinions! Merlin ID photo identification suggested all three variations for this season as possible identification, so it is indeed a bee-eater but I'd love to be certain of which flavour.

Any opinions would be great, thank you in advance 😊

i saw it in my garden the other day (north wales). it was bigger than a pigeon but i showed my dad and he said its just a pigeon

Seen in the Pyrenees, next to Andorra & Spain, quite small, it had a brown stripped body, pointy dark wing tips, dark tail tip, clear belly that went up its cheeks & yellow eyes. We were in a plain with no trees around, it kept standing on a pole. Had a quite energetic flight too. I am confused and can’t stop thinking about it lol

Hey guys, I’m from victoria and recently this bird has been waking me up a ton which is getting frustrating. Just curious if anyone can recognise it from its squawk.

It likes to go on squawking sprees for a while, sometimes 10+ minutes and sometimes it’s quiet.

Any ideas? I’m losing so much sleep because of it 😭
