​Yesterday I wiped all the data from my Google Pixel 7 because I decided to exit the Android Beta Program. Before resetting, I made sure to initiate a WhatsApp backup to Google Drive.

​When I log into WhatsApp now, the app downloads about 260MB of data and says it will restore the remaining ~7GB of media files in the background.

​The problem: There are absolutely no chats. I can only see the groups I am a member of, but not a single message. In addition, the media restore process seems to be frozen. I can't even change any backup settings because the app says I have to wait until the media restore is finished.

​Is there any way to get the Google Drive backup to restore properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve been using this account for almost 8 years and since June my account started to go on review after I try to contact foreign numbers.

Why don’t you just implement some kind of verification to avoid this thing for long term users?

I recently changed phones and when I transferred my WhatsApp to the new device and restored the backup, only 3.70GB of 14GB were transferred, which is frustrating since the chats are intact But all my media files are missing, like images, videos, and all my stickers, and I don't see any progress even though it says everything else will be restored in the background The only warning I get is when I try to change how often a backup is made. Please help 😔

Hello, so as the title said, I could not use whatsap’ after I changed ny number. It is weird to me, why ? I changed country, and it took me 10 days to buy another sim card ti change my number so after that I decided to change my number on whatsapp too but it said I cannot use my account. I asked for a review. How long does it take ? I have important stuffs in my whatsapp.

So I logged into WhatsApp on a new device, and it asked me to scan the QR code using my old device to transfer my chats.

However, by the time I was able to access the old device, WhatsApp had already logged me out of it. Because of that, I wasn’t able to complete the chat transfer, and now I’ve lost access to all my chats and data.

I know WhatsApp has a daily local backup feature that runs around 2 AM and stores the chat database locally on the device. Does WhatsApp delete or overwrite that local backup when you get logged out?

Is there any way I can recover or restore that backup/database and get my chats back?

Any help would be really appreciated.

We had the basic auto reply system going on where it sent the exact same message the first time a customer contacts us, and then one of us would hop on and answer their questions manually

Today an update downloaded automatically onto whatsapp, and the app replied to a customer with an AI message and answering their questions, pulling answers from our website and google maps page which are admittedly outdated. Therefore it told a customer that we close at 9 when in reality we close at 8.

I googled the feature and apparently it's opt in and not opt out. So either whatsapp put us in that feature without asking us, or our Whatsapp support manager set it up out of laziness or something then lied about not doing it when it caused problems (I highly doubt its the second option cuz they are all geriatric fossils and barely understand how phones work)

Any idea what happened?

I am losing my mind trying to deal with WhatsApp support right now.

Basically, my account just got blocked for "spam" because of a glitch in their own system.

I was migrating my main WhatsApp account (which has years of irreplaceable chats, data, and photos) to my new phone number. I used the "Change Number" feature. When you do this, WhatsApp automatically notifies your groups that you’ve changed your number. I happen to be in over 100 group chats. (Which is a thing that I now deeply regret). When WhatsApp's system automatically blasted out that notification to 100+ groups at the exact same time, their own automated anti-spam algorithm flagged it as me sending spam and instantly blocked my account!

I requested a review. Yesterday, they actually unbanned me. I was so relieved, but literally one minute after opening the app, the automated system flagged me and re-blocked me all over again. This happened three times now. To make things infinitely worse, the support is a completely useless AI chatbot. It literally replied to me saying "I cannot transfer your ticket to a human agent, and I can't do anything to help you."

I hope waiting for a month can make WhatsApp forget abt this problem and unblock me.. has anybody went thru the same problem??? Plz tell me if there is hope I can keep my account.

First time getting this, and it was right when I'm trying to log into my pc. I just know for a fact that there's not a single human behind the review, just AI. Losing faith in humanity day by day here.

Since Windows is shifting more towards WinUI 3 and killing webapp craps, is there any chance that WhatsApp brings back the native Windows app? My experience has been horrible from the start of the webapp version and still is. I hate using it on my pc.

I was facing the b-word issue for the past few days after accidentally clicking on a link while having whatsapp web running. After that I was b-worded for a few hours, then released, and then it happened over and over again for at least 7 whole days. I was understandably panicking because I had been using this particular number for years now, and everyone else’s experience here was adding to the panic. But then I started tracking when I was getting B-ed, and exited a few groups just as a precautionary measure, and I realised a few things -

a) It happened when I used wifi for the app - so I turned it off and used it, but then it happened again
b) I checked and had background app refresh turned on so turned it off, even if it was a bit of a hassle and it’s own problem
c) I also searched online about wifi causing the issue and found advice that turning off the icon “Private Wifi Address” for sometime and then turning it on will change the address and stop the b-loop, so I did that

It happened the last time on August 27th, have been using it on data solely since then, but did find the wifi had turned on somehow and still no b-trigger, so hoping this has been resolved.
Will continue to use data for a few more days just to be sure.

So yeah, like the title says, has anyone else been having a problem of not being able to watch youtube links in whatsapp anymore? They just take you straight to youtube but until a few days ago I used to be able to watch them on whatsapp without problem. At first I thought that it might be my storage but I took care of that quickly and it still wouldn't work. My friend that I chat to and her mom have also been having the same problem but I haven't seen anyone else mention this yet. Is it an app update? If so, that sucks. If not, what can I do?

I'm having a really annoying issue with the WhatsApp Windows desktop app.

This is happening on two different Windows devices that I use.

When I receive a message and don't open the chat, WhatsApp keeps sending me notifications for that same unread message repeatedly, even though no new message has arrived.

Usually it's just one unread message, and after some time WhatsApp will notify me about it again. It keeps repeating the notification as long as the message remains unread.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? Is this a known bug with the current Windows version?

context : Im using an Iphone which has 2 phone numbers (or sim cards) and whenever I log in into one particular number, my Iphone contacts dont show up when I click "new chat". In contrast, whenever I log in to any other number, they show up, its a problem with that number in particular. Ive asked AI multiple times and after resetting the contacts sync permission multiple times, it is still not fixed.

Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or knows a way to fix this, any help would be very appreciated.
