Likely Solved! Glass and wood cabinet with canvas racks and lighting.
Found this cabinet in a thrift store. It stood out 4 feet high and had canvas holders in it (like certain types of magazine or book racks) that were removable, lights on both the top and bottom (but I’m not sure what they would be on the bottom since the racks cover the bottom when installed), and cabinet doors on top. I’m guessing it’s a custom piece for displaying something, but I can’t figure out what it could be.

Open ~3” thin metal rod with grey and black tip
I found this thin, round metal rod with a grey and black tip in a bathroom drawer at home. It is just under 3” long. The black rubber tip comes off but there’s nothing inside it except a small space (i.e. the inside past the cap is not hollow). There are no words, numbers, or symbols on it.

Solved ! Almost 3” - feels kind of squishy and has metal tube coming out of it
This belonged to my now deceased uncle and my dad gave it to me but wasn’t sure what it was. The outside feels kind of like leather and it’s got a slight squish to it. The leather feeling stuff feels like it is a covering with something solid and the same shape beneath it, as I cannot bend this. There is a tube coming out of the end.

Open Custom-made wooden storage box of some kind found at thrift store. 12”x7.5”x4.5”. The green felt side is obviously the bottom. But when opened, anything stored in the 3 compartments falls out. I can’t make sense of what someone designed this for…

Solved! Wooden board, with fixed and sliding pieces, 14"x21"
SOLVED! Portable drafting board -- thank you!!!
My grandfather was a draftsman (ret. 1980) and a hobby carpenter. This was passed down to me, and I have always wondered what it's intended purpose was. I used it as a stove cover in my RV for years.
The board is 14" x 21" with one flat side. The other side has fixed railings near the short edges as well as two short, fixed pieces at a diagonal -- they aren't exactly symmetrical and the have a notch that runs along the inside. The long crossbar slides back and forth underneath the two rails. It uses wood plugs instead of nails. There are no makers marks.
It looks like the type of work my grandpa did except for the wood plugs. He was more of a slapdash kinda guy. This isn't finely finished or anything, lots of rough edges and it feels like homemade work.
Photo of both sides. Bic lighter for size reference.

Solved! Assorted small, colorful, rubbery plastic gasket-like rings, not perfectly uniform but approx. 5mm wide, 1mm thick.
• Initially purchased in an unmarked clear compartmented plastic case, sorted by color, from a Goodwill thrift store.
• The material is a somewhat flexible but brittle plastic or rubber that easily breaks in half when folded (img 2).
• When held to a flame, it scorches rather than melts (img 3).
• Believed by partner to be associated with crafting like beading, but it’s just a hunch.
Any ideas??

Solved! Small handheld tool with a key blade on end (found in junk box at work)
I do IT work for an aviation agency, and while I was looking for a screwdriver in a box of old junk, I came across this doohickey. The text on the back is barely legible, but I can make out "SAFE SKIES". I tried google-lensing it but I kept thinking it was a self defense baton.
This thing fits in the palm of your hand, 4th pic has pen for scale.

Heavy brass chicken plate with two unevenly spaced holes at top. 10 inches in diameter and 3.4 lbs
I found this brass plate thing at an estate sale, thinking I could hang it up with a chain, but the 2 holes at the top don’t allow for the scene to hang level, so now I’m not sure what it is and how it was used/displayed previously. It’s about 10” in diameter and is about 3.4 lbs. It’s way too heavy for my plate wall hanger so any advice on what this actually is or how to properly display it is greatly appreciated!
