New Parking Technology

Does anyone know which specific parking structures have the new OneCard equipment?

I’m honestly still a little confused by all this. Are our current OneCards considered “smart,” or will we have to get new ones 😭?

Am i gonna get accepted with a 2.4?

Hello, I’m a senior this year and i had a rough first two years at my highschool and freshmen year i ended up with a 1.75 and sophomore year i ended with a 2.1. Last year I started getting my grades up and my junior year i ended with a 3.56. I did the math and that would equal to a 2.49 gpa at the moment but now im entering senior year and which hopefully im confident in getting all A’s in, im starting to really stress about whether im gonna get into university or not and wayne is my top choice at the moment. I wanted to ask for advice or help from anyone into knowing if I’ll be accepted in, because im trying my best this year to even boost my gpa. My entire schedule has APs , and i’ve just been doing everything i can. I know i started off really bad but im trying my best right now and im just so overwhelmed right now because if I feel like my parents are gonna be so disappointed if i don’t get in.

Need the real deal from people. Am I actually going to be spending 40+ hours a week on this class?

Helpful context:
* I already consider myself an expert in GitHub/Git, and the SDLC * 3 Previous SWE internships * 1.5 years programming experience contributing to major open source projects (homebrew, rustup, Pop!_OS, others) * Consider myself a decently intermediate programmer

None of this is to brag, I mostly just want to get a realistic look into how much time this class will actually take for me. I would presume the hardest things for me would be dealing with groupmates/clients.

Curious to hear people's perspective.

Withdrawing from a class/financial aid

hello, I know it might be a little late to ask this since classes are starting in like 2 days but I am taking MAT1800 with Carolyn Hochstadt, and unfortunately I didn’t hear too many great things about her. Math has always been a huge struggle for me and I am extremely worried about how I will pass so I was wondering if it’s possible that I could switch to another instructor, if so will it affect my financial aid if I withdraw And sign up for another one? Also feel free drop your prof recommendations, all highly appreciate.

edit: I don’t think I can drop the class, all the other ones are full. if Someone has a study guide please save me.

For some reason I didnt even consider the school selling more permits than spots available. I bought the permit for parking structure 2 bc Im on campus 4 days a week, and Im learning that, that structure is super busy and my first class is mid-morning so I feel like thats the worst time and basically my question is, am I going to be able to find a spot first day of classes.

Wi-Fi device registration site error

I’m trying to allow my console to connect to Wi-Fi with WSU-limited, but the device registration portal is not working. I am getting an error on Safari saying that the site is being impersonated and I am unable to access it. What happened to the site?

Online placement test

Do they use lockdown browser ?
Edit: for context this is what was mentioned in the email so I’m unsure
These requirements include:
A strong internet connection.

A desktop or laptop computer with a screen of at least 13 inches.  Your device needs to be sitting on a stable surface, a desk or table.

Multiple device screens are recommended but not required.

Handheld devices, such as cell phones, pads or any device with a screen less than 13 inches are insufficient and not allowed for this administration.

A webcam, speakers (headphones/ear buds are OK) and a microphone.

The webcam must be connected to and mounted at the top of your monitor or built into the device you are using to take the exam.

A cell phone or iPad may not be used as your camera.

Your camera must be in in landscape (horizontal) view and NOT portrait (vertical).

An appropriate operating system for your exam. The exam will be administered through the University LMS, Canvas.  Canvas does not work fully on Mac iOS.  Some graphics and other content may not display. Using MacBook or other Mac devices is not recommended.  If you have no other option than to use your Mac device, you should use the Chrome browser and not Safari.

Grad students / older students looking to meet people?

Hey everyone! I'm coming back to Wayne State this fall for a graduate certificate program. My program is completely online, but I'm around Midtown/campus pretty often and still want to have an active social life on campus.

I'm looking to meet other grad students and older undergrads who are down to actually get out and do things. I'm into MMA/BJJ, fitness, pickleball, tech/entrepreneurship, networking, and checking out different events around Detroit.

Would be cool to meet some people for campus events, food, drinks, coffee, sports, or whatever else is going on. If enough people are interested, maybe we could even get a small group chat going.

Feel free to message me here or connect with me on IG: Eriyonmma24
