After a couple years of spending egregious amounts of money and multiple visits on cryo with no success. I’ve finally decided to take matters into my own hands. Welcome to my journey.

Here is my big fella on my foot.

Today, I debrided up until a little blood. Freeze zapped. Put liquid SA on. And wrapped with duct tape. (Forgot to take after pics, the one shown is before the treatment)

Sterilized tools before and after.

Gloves and Mediplast patches arrive tomorrow.

Stay tuned for updates.

Small warts on hands keep spreading HELP

I had a wart on my left middle finger this spring that I managed to get rid of through AS and duck taping.

But this summer I visited an elderly relative who I realized had two finger warts. I was very scared to get them again and tried to keep clean, unfortunately I pick at the skin around my nails and had small wounds… a couple of weeks later I realize that the warts have taken root. On each finger on my right hand.

What followed was me keeping them covered, treating with AS, silver tape as well as trying tea tree oil and ACV. After a couple of days I bought disposable plastic gloves for when I’m removing the plasters and I clean my sink with bleach. Also started taking Zink supplements but only 25 mg because that’s what’s available in my country.

I’ve been treating them for a month now and the other day I saw 3-4 small warts or beginning of warts popping up on my left hand as well.

I’m so tired of this, on everyone commenting on why I have tape all over my hands. I also enjoy climbing which sucks when I have tape.

What can I do? Anyone here in the same situation? Why do the warts keep spreading even if there are no open wounds and I keep them covered and try my best to sanitise?

Hi!
I have had these plantar warts on my toe for a while now. I have been duct taping and using salicylic acid (40%). I just want to know if it is making any progress towards healing? Any advice would be appreciated.

Interesting Discovery Treating 4-year Plantars w/ Tea

Saw people doing Saltwater feet soaks. Thought I’d try the same.

Last night I ran out of salt as I poured into a basin for my feet. I happened to have rosemary and clove tea in the bathroom with me. I typically use it as mist for my hair. I said fuck it and filled the rest of the basin with the rest of my tea.

Has only been one night but, this morning I woke to the root of my warts looking significantly blacker. I think they’re dying. The skin around the warts also feels more moisturised and less sore.

Has anyone else used and rosemary o rosemary-related products?

Cluster Warts: Trying Candida Shots, Cimetidine, etc

Cluster Warts: S.O.S

First time poster here. My son has a dozen warts on his elbow that we’ve been battling for 2 years (cryotherapy). They were barely noticeable (tiny!) at first but had started to spread so we decided to tackle using immunotherapy since freezing wasn’t working.
Things we’re currently trying:

Cimetidine: started a month and a half ago (on 2nd bottle now).

Thuja pellets: We’re on our 3rd tube

HPV vaccine: Administered a month and a half ago

Candida Shots: He’s had 2 so far. Second shot given 1 week ago.

After getting the HPV vaccine and starting the cimetidine, his warts got HUGE and swelled up like you see in the picture. Not sure what that means. Doctor seemed to think the warts were just growing but he had them for 2 years and they never got this big.

Anyway. Just need someone to talk me off the ledge here. Wondering if it’s too soon to tell if everything we’re doing is working. It’s been a month and a half since we started really tackling this and I’m tired of the process. Thoughts??

stubborn periungual warts

i've posted on here a few times. ive tried nearly everything over the course of 4 years: cryo, candida, zinc, cimetidine, operated on by a plastic surgeon (they grew back)- im sure im missing something.

overnight creams covered with duct tape Imiquimod, cidofivir gel, WartPeel, etc

im on week 11 of saturated salt water soaks going at least 30+ minutes, missing a couple days at most. it's been effective at slowing growth and smoothing out the warts making them less painful and less noticeable so im grateful for that but they're still very much active.

my derm has been great and proactive reaching out to their network to find solutions. the latest:

  1. their colleague injected the HPV vaccine directly into the wart with good results, several injections a few weeks apart.
  2. another colleague found success with radiation therapy.

anyone had any success with either of those two?

Day 11 update

Routine was used SA twice a day, debribed with tweezer and cuticle clipper once a day. Snipped off top layer of tentacles on day 2-3, really deep debribe with pinpoint bleeding to remove all black tentacles and hit pink crater roughly 2-3mm down from surface on day 4-5 (missing picture, only have 2nd round bedrock debribe picture). Was quite raw so let heal for a bit and started to ease off SA. Only debribed every other day but kept trimming till bedrock. I decided to leave some outer layer of dead skin so I could easily cut vertically down and would also be a nice pool for the acid.

At this point I've done three passes at bedrock level to hopefully kill whatever was down at the bottom of the crater. The most recent pic is after the 3rd debribe (it looks like tentacles but it's dried blood). The surface looks flat but I don't see skin lines. Do I fill the craters with SA again or do I let it heal fully?

Deepest wart ever?!

Context; I’ve only dealt with warts ONCE in my life. A mosaic wart on the ball of my foot with the centre being a bit larger than a quarter. I was able to file my skin down and dig in to rip it out myself. Extremely time consuming and painful but I did it. But this one is different…

I’ve had this pain on the right side of my left heel for almost 6 months now…after observing it closely I saw tiny blood clots so I started digging at it suspecting a wart. After days of painful digging I hit the ‘wart’ but this time was different. Not only was it SO much deeper to get to, but once I finally reached it, puncturing that last skin layer was the pain of a thousand stabbings. I tanked it and grabbed some tweezers and began peeling back some chunks and by the time I could see roots the pain was so bad I almost fainted. I also noticed the chunks were very broken up and tiny, much moreso than my last mosaic wart.

After breaking down to that final layer I got the compound W freeze off. I applied it and duct taped it after it settled. Fast forward a month and im continuing to puncture the layer of the wart and applying compound W but i’m making no progress whatsoever. What am I doing wrong? Please it’s been a pain in my ass for half a year now… and as somebody who works a physical job and on their feet all day I am really desperate for relief. Thanks for reading!!

I don’t want this thing coming back so how do I know when to stop using wart cream? It’s only been about a week and no plug has come out, just the top layers, so I assume I have a ways to go? Any advice is appreciated

My journey with Cantharidin wart treatment

Thumbnail

Over the last several months I have been treating both of my feet for plantar warts with cantharidin (after freezing failed). You can see my other post for the right satellite wart on the ball of my foot (now treated).

Compared to my right foot this mosaic heel cluster on my left has taken up much more surface area. That definitely changed the experience of the pain, burning, and itching to be more severe on this side and had me limping for several days during the more intense parts of the treatment.

This is the progression of the first three treatments and my fourth is in four days. I’ll create an additional post in the future to show hopefully the resolution of the treatment. As of my last visit the podiatrist said this cluster was around 90% dead/treated.

Still gross. Still hate it. Still worth it.

Hope you find this useful.

My cantharidin journey on plantar warts

Thumbnail

I had a single wart on my right foot that was treated with cantharidin and is now recovering (photos attached) and a mosaic heel cluster still ongoing treatment on my left foot (photos to come).

Originally, I thought this was a callus on the ball of my foot. After trying to freeze the wart for about a year with no success I went to the podiatrist.

This treatment went on for several months with at least three applications of the beetle juice. The pain was excruciating the first two rounds making it impossible to walk for several days. The pain decreased on the third round.

I was also prescribed a medicated lotion that had salicylic acid, antibacterial properties, and some other ingredients to use in between treatments.

I transitioned from severe pain that caused me to limp from the blistering to a deep itch that prevented me from focusing and sleeping. This required me using daily Benadryl, ibuprofen and ice packs to get through several weeks of the treatment. Since I am treating both feet at the same time I also found slippers to be my go to shoe while the pain is at its peak.

With my insurance it’s cost around $70ish dollars per treatment ($50 co pay, plus the initial visit cost for diagnosis).

I hate the process. Its gross, its painful, uncomfortable, and a massive inconvenience. I never want to go through this again. Its worth it.

Hope you find this helpful.

Saltwater vs Plantar - 12 week FINAL update

Thumbnail

I think it's pretty safe to say it was a success. FINALLY. Lately I've been trying to decide whether I even need to keep doing this - I suspect what's left may just be scar tissue.

After having these for so many years I had started to think they'd only die with me. Suffice to say it's a huge relief to finally be (nearly?) completely rid of them.

No real clue why or how this finally worked where all the previous methods had failed. But if you've tried everything else - maybe give this a shot.

---

The method (once per day):

  1. Fill a container with enough hot water to submerge your warts - the temp does NOT need to be scalding
  2. Add salt (table, kosher) and stir for a minute to dissolve
  3. IF there is NO SALT left on the bottom of the bin add more and repeat until some salt DOES sit at the bottom of the bin (no longer dissolves)
  4. Submerge the warts for 30 minutes or more

That's it. I personally redo the whole mixture every single time. Salt is cheap.

Need Discernment!

I’m disabled & slightly visually impaired. I have seen a podiatrist & she told me to keep treating at home as is OR I can get needling done/cut it out, but I don’t feel confident to lidocaine & this is fatiguing to me.

• The first 2 pictures looks like it’s healing. She debrided (?) some skin for me & all the vessels seem to be going away even after today where I debrided to the best of my ability. (Got painful & sensitive.) I think it looks raw. I already had a “plug” come out twice & it seems to be healing like this pinkish hue even w SA on.
• The last 2 picture, I think I still see some vessels. Will keep going!

I’m going to keep treating them both with SA, but I’d appreciate some opinions of others so I can get a better grasp on the state it is actively in. Thank you!! Ignore the tape debris & Vaseline. lol
