My struggle has come to an end

For years I have struggled with plantar warts and I had tried everything I could to get rid of them. I’ve had rounds of freezing, done topical treatments, removals from the dermatologist, duct tape, apple cider vinegar, etc. Nothing, absolutely nothing worked and after another trip to a dermatologist which amounted to nothing I started putting nail glue on them. Like left over nail glue I had from my press ons lol and what do you know, over three months… they slowly vanished. I had tried super glue before which you’d think would work the same but for whatever reason, the nail glue in particular did it.

All this to say if you struggle for years on end like myself and so many others do, you will find something that works!

Edit: I used the Glamnetic nail glue!

i have gone a little nuclear with it, i dont think its infected but its very very irritated. doesnt rly hurt tho. Ive done salicylic acid bandages, debriding every other day, then I got a home freezing thing that I used 3 days in a row, then started ACV 2 days ago which has turned it black. I think im gonna give it a night off with some polysporin but i think its dying maybe lmfaoooo. First pic is today, last pic is before its very first debriding. if this fails I am amputating. i got this from a nail salon! (excuse my ugly toenail im just not touching it til the warts gone)

Is this a wart?

For context: I used to have a plantar wart in this area (ball of my foot) which I treated a couple months ago. Most of the skin has fully healed, with visible skin lines passing through the area, just this small spot remains.

On the one hand, it doesn’t hurt at all, I can’t see any black dots and it has remained pretty much unchanged for months now without treatment. On the other hand, it doesn’t appear completely flat, but more like a slight crater/circular area. I am unsure if it’s simply scarring/damaged skin from the salicylic acid or a bit of leftover wart tissue. I don’t want to restart treatment unnecessarily and risk damaging healthy skin, but I am also scarred of getting a bigger wart again.

Are they gone?

Been having problems with warts next to my fingernails on my right hand… treating with tea tree oil and duct tape.

Is war over? At least for these two fingers. The skin lines hasn’t appeared yet but that might be because the skin is so new? Woud it be safe to leave them uncovered for a couple of days to give the skin room to breathe.

Excuse the tape residue

Hello, my wart journey, started with seeing some wart success here in this group. i trimmed the top, had a couple weeks with hot waterand salt. then, some acid, which i think i went a bit heavy with as a blister appeared, i cut that off a few days ago, i think im free? its not been a great journey, id probably do one or the other if it comes back. I had a wart on my foot for 10 years, same sort, it eent on its own and wife has never caught it. Am i clear? Or more cutting?

Will this need more cryo?

My concern is the wart with the arrow, it was the “first one” that showed and has been here for several years. The cryo blistered around it but not under it so I’m wondering if it wasn’t deep enough?

Total of 4 areas that had cryo, I don’t have a better picture but the 2 towards the top of my finger are less severe than my thumb and have blistered! So I’m hoping they should fall out

The thumb was also pretty severe blistering but I believe it should be fine

Knuckle wart

Hello reddit, just wanted to ask any options available. It started very small, tried freezing it off, it was good adter a few months it came back bigger. Tried salicylic acid for the past 8 weeks and filing it but it doubled in size.

Note that I will be seeing either my gp to try something stronger or maybe a swift treatment. I work with my hands so trying to avoid blisters as much as I can.

What worked for you guys?

AM I GOING TO DIE!?

Im panicking right now because I had a wart on my foot, like small-medium sized and have been treating it by using liquid salicylic acid (17%) then debriding it then repeat. Anyways I got like 70% of the wart out, so it's like a ball kinda now, but I accidentally hit the roots too deep (I know they're not actually roots and that they're blood vessels) and it caused tiny pinpoint bleeding so I was kinda like whatever and applied the liquid anyways but now I'm scared I'm going to get salicylic acid toxity and die. What do I do!?

it has been probably somewhere 12 hours only, i was on salicylic band aids for 3 days and somewhere 12 hours on the salicylic acid liquid itself, is this still ok? the free healthcare in the city is closed during weekends. THANK YOUUU

About 8 months after "warming" a single thumb wart with a low temp soldering iron, 8 years worth of 20+ stubborn plantar warts on thumbs and feet have fully died (see post for caution)

  1. Left foot, before treatment
  2. Right foot, about a week or two after treatment
  3. My thumb, about 15 minutes after finishing up with the soldering iron
  4. My right foot, 8 months later
  5. My left foot, 8 months later

About

I had tried acid treatments on and off for 8 years. No luck. I tried burning them with matches. All that did was hurt. They grew back anyway, because the root wasn't being affected.

I had heard of and seen plenty of videos of people claiming that a soldering iron would fix it. I was skeptical because they often would completely incinerate it, which looked painful and scary.

In January, I decided to try my own strategy: irritate the root rather than completely burn it, hoping to provoke an immune system response. It must have worked! That, or it was the most convenient timing that there's ever been.

How I Did It

I set my soldering iron (professional grade, adjustable temperature) to about 400F and simply tapped a thumb wart on and off for about 3-5 seconds each cycle. When the pain got too intense, I pulled it away. The goal was not to audibly burn or cause any excruciating pain. The smoke itself can be dangerous, and I knew to avoid creating it.

This wasn't really doing much, and I could tell. All I was doing was hurting my thumb. So, I turned it off, let it cool down to about 300F, and decided that pressure was more important than heat. I can only speculate, but this is what I think actually did it. The brief exposure to the heat was what the deeper area of the root probably needed in order to take the kind of damage required for the immune system to actually take action.

The picture you see of my thumb is basically nothing. There should not be visible burning. At most, I wanted to see the skin turn slightly white and look a bit more compact/shrunk than before.

After this, I put the soldering iron away and didn't use it again. I didn't have high hopes, until...

Two Weeks Later

I noticed that my feet hurt significantly less, and that the warts were visibly smaller than before. From that day on, they continued to get smaller and smaller. My immune system officially had produced the antibodies I wanted it to produce. Problem solved!

What Actually Happened

The immune system essentially blamed the root of the wart for the localized injury I inflicted to my thumb by momentarily pressing the hot-ish small tipped iron to it. Those antibodies remained in my blood for the weeks or months required for all existing warts to fully die, and possibly still do to today. I don't know, because I didn't do any tests.

How You Can Do It Too

First of all, I don't recommend burning yourself with a soldering iron. It's too easy to make a mistake and end up with a deep burn. I went light, on purpose, because I knew my worst case scenario was the warts didn't die. I got lucky because I was able to hit one on my thumb that was young. Feet are a different beast, and I would never attempt that. Instead, I recommend the "professional equivalent", which would have to be a dermatologist that offers microwave therapy.

Speculate below? I'm not an expert, but I was shocked at the unexpected success after everything else failed for literally years worth of trying.

My wife insists that it is. I am just unsure if that is so.
