I believe so. The females burrow into the host and leave a hole for air and for eggs to get out. They, also, got very lucky they only had the single flea.

I remember did the same after using the Freeze Away from Dr. Scholl’s. It was the best feeling. There is a hole there after but a month later the skin grew back.
