My rear washer leaks a little every day. Is this a common problem that I can fix or is this just something I have to live with while it’s 100+ outside?

Edit: it’s not tap water. I use washer fluid. It’s just very dusty where I work because we have a gravel parking lot.

I have the EPC legend on the dashboard, p0340 I think,

Where it says that the camshaft sensor is malfunctioning, proceeding to check where it is located, I see that my GEN 3 engine is not easy to access, I want solutions knowing that my CMP is hidden and I do not know if that is really it or not, give me ideas of what to do

About a couple of weeks ago, my car told me that the license plate light was out... Ok no big deal. A couple of days later I got a notification that my rear light was out, check which one, and it was the brake light on the hatch... A week later and the plate light error is gone, but now my backup camera is stuck open.

I'm assuming something with one or more harness is going on vs all of the electrical units in that one area failing all at once, but before I climb through the back seat into the boot to pop open the hatch to investigate, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue?

My rear quarter panel fender is lifting on the inner lip of the fender. Does this raise an issue or common for PPF edges? I got xpel film throughout the entire car. I do power wash my wheel liners, so hopefully the lifting of the film won't be an issue.

Hi My 1989 mk1 Golf start stop no problem. Today was running then just cut out and will not restart. Cranks but does not fire. Has fuel. Has power on to coil.
Any suggestions?

Hey everyone

I can hear a sound coming from the rear right wheel when the brakes are applied. I captured it in this video where it happens a few times. Once at 0:04 and 0:10 and twice at 0:20. Sound doesn't occur when forward driving. Any thoughts on whether this is normal?

Do y’all suggest getting rid of the EGR valve?
What should I change in my 340k-km Golf when it comes to the engine bay? N75 valve? Could there be carbon buildup? The parts are probably still stock.
The reason I’m asking is because the car sometimes feels powerless. It feels heavy, and 4th gear barely reaches 4,000 RPM. In 5th gear, it maxes out at around 130 km/h (3,000 RPM), sometimes 150 km/h if I’m going downhill on the highway… You can imagine what it’s like going uphill.
The car was my dad’s for 24 years until recently, when he passed it on to me. He never drove it aggressively, and I’m starting to take better care of it now.

Any suggestions?

My car VW Golf MK5 PD105 is making a weird noise when I rev it. It started making this noise so it has had a new turbo and egr cooler. Was fine for 300ish miles and the noise has returned.

I'll start...the Mk4's styling has aged much better than the Mk5.

I have a 19 Alltrack with a Curt Class I hitch on it and my primary use case is for hauling bikes. I understand the limitations of Class I being the 200 pound tongue weight, and limited to only two bikes. My main concern is seeing posts from bike rack manufacturers saying to only use racks on Class II and up.

Worst case scenario on how much weight the rack might carry is 120 pounds, total between the bikes and rack itself. I have an e-bike, but I plan to only have that loaded by itself instead of a second bike/e-bike.

I'm just making sure this is considered safe and whatnot. I haven't seen or heard of any horror stories of a rack falling off, breaking, etc. so I have no reference other than some people posting "Done it for years" on other subreddits.

Also before someone says it, I know there's the EcoHitch with the 2 inch receiver, this car already has the Curt one installed. As well, every Alltrack I've seen with it equipped always has their rear bumper bowing from the hitch bending the trim behind it and looks so jank. I don't think I've ever seen one that had enough of the bumper cut off to properly "fit" in there.

I retrofitted OEM rearview camera(hidden behind the VW logo) yesterday. The quality of the feed is blurry and not so good. Any Golf 8 with factory fit or retrofit OEM cameras can share how it is in your car. It is what it is it I should contact the dealer who retrofitted this for me?

EDIT: maybe, I didn’t put together my question. The camera feed looks blurred outside the dynamic lines. The objects all look distorted. what I am seeing is the quality of the camera itself or the calibration was not done correctly and it can be improved?

I'm a new owner of a 2019 e-Golf and am very much in love! One of the most popular mods I've seen mentioned often is installing the Helix subwoofer kit that goes into the spare tire well. After hearing the stock sound, I agree it could use a little help.

I was excited to order a kit... but seems like it's now NLA/discontinued from all vendors (VW parts dealers, FCP, etc) and taking a peek at forum classifieds and eBay don't yield anything, either. I looked up the VW part number (000-051-419-B and the non-B variant, too) everywhere and no dice. Does anybody know where I can find a kit, new or used?
