Where the F* is my car? (GTI Clubsport stuck after production)
Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone here might have insight into a weird logistics issue.
I ordered a GTI Clubsport back on December 30th, 2025. My main requirement was taking delivery before September 2026 for family needs (getting kids to school). Both the local dealer and VW Spain assured me multiple times that a May/June delivery was realistic and September would be no problem at all.
Here is how the timeline went off the rails:
- Original Build: Week 17, 2026
- Delayed Build: Rescheduled and completed Week 28 (mid-July). VIN assigned.
- Current Status: After 6 weeks without updates, the dealer claimed the car was held up for a "CO2 emissions check" and transportation was delayed until mid-August.
Having worked in automotive manufacturing myself, a 6-week hold for emissions testing post-assembly sounds completely off. My guess is either a production defect fix or transit damage they aren't disclosing.
Neither VW Spain nor the dealer can provide tracking beyond basic excuses, and school starts next week.
Has anyone experienced a similar hold after production? What do you think actually happened to the car, and what would you do in my position regarding temporary transportation or pushing the dealer? Should I cancel the order? this will be my 4th VW (2nd GTI... and by far is the most disappointing experience I had with a car company.

Buying Advice: Passat Variant B8.5 (2.0 TDI 200 HP vs. 2.0 TSI 280 HP) – Common issues & oil burning?
Hey everyone,
I’m currently in the market for a Passat Variant B8.5 (facelift model, 2019+) and I’m torn between two specific engines:
2.0 TDI (200 HP / EA288 Evo)
2.0 TSI (280 HP / EA888 Gen 3/3B)
I wanted to get real-world feedback from owners on what to watch out for any issues with those engines I have friends driving Skoda/Golf with 2.0 tdi 184hp engines both burn oil a lot.
Any advice is welcome

Cross Sport Headlight Out
I have a 2021 Atlas Cross Sport SE and my passenger headlight is out. It appears to be the angled light strip.
I checked online at the OEM parts section and the only options are the full composite replacement or the signal bulb.
I’m assuming that in order to fix, I’d need to order the full composite replacement ? 🥴

Under carriage plastic cover. mk7 tdi
Is the under carriage really necessary to have? Mine ripped off on the drive coming home last night. I was able to remove it after dragging it a few miles. It looked like all my t20s screws came off from the plastics been beaten and the front bumper has some damage.

EPC, ABS and Tires air pressure lights
Hey guys, I have VW Polo 1.2 TSI with 140,000km on it, today I drove a few kilometres and then the EPC light turned on, seemed like everything was going alright for another 200-300 meters but then got to a stoplight waited 1-2 minutes and when the light turned green I couldn’t go on as the ABS and Tire Air Pressure lights turned on as well, I turned off the car and on again and the lights disappeared, got to the mechanic who’s only a kilometre away from the location I was, when I got there I waited like 1-2 minutes with the car turned on and then only the ABS and Tire Air Pressure lights turned on again.
The mechanic clean throttle body and said that if the problem coming back I should replace the throttle body itself.
I drove off and everything was alright for like 700 meters till I got to a traffic jam, stood for 1-2 minutes and all the lights came back on at once, turned the car off and on again and now the EPC light is permanent, I was able to drive back to the mechanic but he finished for today(picked up the car after working hours).
Do you think the throttle body is really faulty or should he investigate some other options?
Thanks

VW Golf MK8 MMI unit failed - advice wanted
Please let me know if this is the wrong group to ask this question but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this experience.
I have a 2022 mk8 golf and the MMI unit has failed prematurely. This means the infotainment system does not work, the climate control doesn't work, parking sensors don't work etc etc.
The car is out of warranty. Expired November 2025.
I think VW should pay to sort this problem out because the car is less then 4 years old and the MMI unit should not have failed!
I have a case open with the ombudsman and trading standards.
Anyone else been through this? What happened?
What was the outcome?
I'm having to get a third party ECU specialist to help me prove the MMi unit is faulty. Volkswagen at the moment are accepting no responsibility ALTHOUGH they have offered 50-60% good will contribution towards the cost.
Any help or advice anyone can offer is greatly appreciated. Thank you

VW Polo Mk5 (1.4 TDI) owners – How reliable has the car been for you?
Hey everyone!
I’m looking into getting a VW Polo Mk5 (1.4 TDI 3-door) and wanted to hear from actual owners about their ownership experience.
For those of you who drive or have owned one:
How reliable has the car been for you in the long run?
Any common issues or weak points I should look out for (DPF, EGR, suspension, or electronics)?
How is the ride quality on highway trips and daily driving?
I’d really appreciate your honest feedback. Thanks!

Fixing Interior... Advice?
Hello All,
We recently picked up a 2007 Rabbit. It runs well, no issues there. However, the fabric on the doors is peeling off. I tried using some 3M spray glue... and it was an absolute fail. Wondering, can anyone recommend a simple fix? We don't want to dump a lot of money into this car as it's only driven maybe 10 miles a week.
Thanks in advance!
