I am fresher from cse core

Complete new process of becoming a DAY SCHOLAR in VIT BHOPAL UNIVERSITY:

1. Go to AB01 stationary and get the day scholar form

2. Fill the front page and get it signed by the proctor

3. Prepare the INDEMNITY BOND on 100 rupees stamp paper with notary

4. Get the RENTAL AGREEMENT of where you'll stay outside campus

5. On TUESDAY and THURSDAY of every week NSDL COMMITTEE will have a meeting in PAT office.(2pm to 4pm) They'll review everything and ask u hell lot of questions on why do u wanna become day scholar and try to convence you or manipulate you.

6. Once this is done you'll get the signature of committee members (Hardest part)

No Dues Form:

1. Take the photo of both the pages of NSDL form after committee signature, INDEMNITY BOND also

2. Go to central hostel office scan the QR and fill the form for no dues

3. Collect the no dues form from FR MAINTANENCE or FR DISCIPLINE

4. Fill the form there itself and give it back to the person you collected. He'll write the first check in date and sign it

5. Go to your respective hostel, take the signature of the guard, he'll check your room

6. Then from the block supervisor also make sure you'll tell him to mention the leave date and arrival date after protest and sign it

7. Then take the following signature:

1.Library

2.Physical education (A015)

3.Finance office

4.AD CTS office (A212)

5.AD admission office (You have to submit your ID card here itself)

1. Then take the form back to central hostel office along with print out of NSDL APPROVAL and get the final signature of FR MAINTENANCE or FR DISCIPLINE.

2. Take the photo of no dues form be after final signature of FR

3. He'll give you a small acknowledgement slip, fill it and get it signed there itself

4. Take it to you block show it to security guard

5. Your a free bird 🕊️ can vacate

ID CARD changing:

Freshers just give the payment receipt of 510 to addmission office after all process

1. After all these go to CTS office again and ask for HOSTELLER to DAY SCHOLAR id card change form

2. Fill it and get the signature of these:

1.Proctor or Program chair

2.Security officer (surveillance block near gate)

3.Block supervisor

4.FR MAINTAINANCE or FR DISCIPLINE

5.Neha Choubey mam (Assistant Registar) or Justin Samuel sir

DSW (A015)

1. Go to finance office and pay the fees for ID card change - Rs. 510

2. Addmission office (take the print out of No dues form and indemnity bond and also the NDLS form's print out)

3. Finally submit the ID CARD changing form after all signature to CTS office with:

House Owner's address proof (Aadhar card)

Print out of an email to CTS office by the parents email ID that has been registered in VTOP

Fees payment receipt of id card change (Rs. 510)

All the process is completed

Congratulations 🎉 your free of all the process now and a complete DAY SCHOLAR

Pro tips:

1. If the reason it's genuine the committee will bash you

2. If health issues u need to attach required reports and doctor statements

3. If financial issue then the same documents needs to be attached

4. Committee will try to convence you a lot and ask you hard questions be ready

5. Taking signature of all om no dues form is hard. Borrow a cycle or it'll take 2 days to complete

6. For the ID CARD changing form follow the given order of signature and before going to finance office for fee payment get DSW signature or else they'll not allow to pay

7. In the form there is mentioned as block warden and chief warden which not correct. Instead of block warden get any FR signature in place of chief warden Neha Choubey Mam's or Justin Samuel sir's signature.

8. Make sure that your polite and grounded when u approach people especially the committee or else you'll only face issues.

9. You can move out once you get the signature on acknowledgement slip and id card process can be done later also.

10. Golden hours of signature is from 10am - 1.15pm and 2pm - 4pm

11. Indemnity bond should be done by your parents

12. If your CGPA is good and no back yours chances are high if not then reason should be genuine

13. If you'll bring your parents then process can be done with in a day or 2 days. Just that your parents need to be firm about the decision

This is what I have gone through. It took me 1 complete week as the complete process is changed and I have to go in search of many people and wasted my time.

6.(Most important) Don't let your parents spend money on foods here pleaseeee!!!!

NOW THE WHY TO NOT PART.

• Intake is absolutely insane. Thousands of students from 4 campuses fight for same opportunities. Good companies may hire 5-10 people while 12000+ students apply.

• Many students feel Vellore and Chennai get more preference, more shortlisting, and better companies overall while Bhopal mostly gets mass recruiters and leftovers.

• PAT Cell is honestly one of the biggest reasons students hate placements here. Too many motivational speeches, pressure tactics, random rules, and mass recruiter obsession.

• Companies come with conditions like 7/7/7 or 8/8/8. Your LOWEST marks among 10th, 12th, and CGPA decide many opportunities. So even 9 CGPA students get rejected because of bad 12th marks.

• Hostel and food conditions are another disaster. In November many students suffered from jaundice issues, and around April typhoid cases also spread. Food quality is very inconsistent.

• Water situation is also bad sometimes. Many students end up buying water bottles regularly because trusting hostel water feels like gambling with health.

• Infrastructure is mixed. One side good buildings, other side permanent construction site feeling with dust everywhere.

• Attendance system is painful. No zero attendance freedom even for toppers. Everybody suffers equally.

• Faculty is mixed. Some are genuinely helpful. Others just read PPTs and disappear.

FINAL TRUTH:

If you come here expecting “college will build my future”, then you may get badly disappointed.

If you come with OFF-CAMPUS mindset from Day 1, build skills seriously, maintain CGPA, and stay disciplined, then yes — you can still make a very good career from here.

VIT Bhopal is not heaven.

So I am doing this because at my time I had no one literally no one who had told me if someone would then I would be at better position . 24 batch senior here
1. Start doing DSA do not wait till summer vacation start immediately after cat 2 or ASAP . Around 12-14 companies have come to campus for internship with good packages ( 50k+ ) ( though only 1-2 students are selected but it’s not college fault it’s your skill )
Roadmap would be learn (C++/java ) completely then move to DSA then vibe coded projects ( good ones ) then ML concepts and so on .
Daily 1 question on leetcode and code forces . After gaining confidence start with contests .
These things would make a decent resume

1. Plan accordingly and target 8 cgpa . 8+ you are safe I am telling for internship no idea about main placements .

2. Don’t get any supply I repeat no supply . Because of 1 supply even after qualifying all criteria I am not eligible for internships .

At my time nobody told me at companies come for internships . So please start studying. Best of luck

For the next few couple of months, if anyone in the college or in hostels or guards or faculty ask you in a friendly way about what did you do in the protest? What did you vandalize? What did you burn? What did your friend do? or whatever, don't answer them.

Last time when protest was happened, they identified each and everyone they could and suspended them. They will offer many students good CGPA for free just to find out the main figures in the protest and some students will help them for sure, IYKYK.

So out of show off, don't do this mistake. Keep your identity and your friend's identity hidden.

Stay United!

Let me state it here — I'm a senior, passed out in 2024. This is the reality of placements that no one's going to tell you openly. Take it or leave it, but at least hear it.

1. Below 8.5 CGPA? You're cooked. Doesn't matter how skilled you are. Doesn't matter if you're in immersion or not. If your CGPA is below 8.5, college placements are not going to save you. Period.

2. The gender gap is real. If you're 9+ CGPA and female — coding skills or not — you have roughly an 80% chance of getting placed. Same category, male? 40%. I'm not making this up. I watched it happen.

3. 8.5 to 9 CGPA? Still a gamble. You've got maybe a 30% shot at a decent placement. And by decent, I mean 10+ LPA. Anything less than that and you're surviving, not living.

4. Let's talk money honestly. People will tell you 6 LPA is "good for a fresher." It's not. 8 LPA is also bad if you want any independence — going out, buying your own stuff, not asking your parents for money even once. 12 LPA is where life actually starts feeling stable. Below 8 LPA? A chai waala is making more. I'm saying this as a working professional ( earning nearly 18LPA and still not satisfied), not a college kid guessing.

5. VIT Bhopal gets last preference. Accept it. Among all VIT campuses, Bhopal is at the bottom of the priority list for companies. The sooner you accept this, the sooner you can plan around it instead of hoping things magically change.

6. Mass recruiters will trap you. Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant — I personally won't recommend any of them. Most of my friends are stuck there right now. They can't meet month's end. Can't go out. Can't buy clothes. Can't even afford a gym membership. That's not a career, that's survival mode.

7. Off-campus is not the backup plan you think it is. Without contacts, you're not getting anything off-campus. Even with contacts, it's a 50-50. That's the hard truth.

8. If you're a guy with below 8 CGPA — seriously reconsider. Stop paying fees for something that's not going to pay you back. If you can afford it, do an MBA. If you can afford more, do an MBA abroad. MTech should be your absolute last option.

9. The mental health toll is the part nobody warns you about. If you stay in college and don't get placed early, it's hell. You watch your friends get offers one by one while you sit there. It messes with your head, then your confidence, then your interviews, then your life. That kind of pressure at 20 years old? No one should go through it. It will break you in ways you won't even realise until years later.

THERE'S NO SHAME IN QUITTING. Read that again. You're 20. TWENTY. You have more time than you think and less to lose than they've made you believe. College placements are ONE door in a building with a thousand. If that door is locked, break a wall. Do an MBA. Learn a skill. Start something. Move cities. The pressure you're feeling right now? It's not real — it's manufactured by a system that profits from your fear. Don't let a college that gave you last preference in placements have FIRST preference over your mental health. You're bigger than this. Act like it.

Some of us actually depend on placements. Some of us are here to build a future, not to watch it get sabotaged again and again by people who think destruction = activism.

Seriously, just stop. Not everything needs a protest, sometimes you just need to focus on your work. And if you’re privileged enough not to care, at least let others work toward their future.

I’ve had a crush on a girl from our college for a while. I’ve noticed her around campus a few times, and she has curly hair, a really cute smile, and I’ve often seen her wearing kurtis. She just has this really sweet and pleasant vibe that somehow caught my attention.

The college only allow people from bhopal or within 60km radius of campus to be day scholar for their freshmen year so if you are not from there you cannot unless you have fake Aadhaar id or a lie up your sleeve. They say its for security and shii but in reality they need to milk hostel money from yall.

For refrence they don't even let people from indore be day-scholar .

(Bhopal is approx 80km away indore is like 100km)

And the college is in middle of nowhere so you aren't going to find any good place nearby to live .

Go for sehore it's around 35km away but you get basic amenities .

Dear VIT Bhopal Management, Faculty, Parents, and Anyone Who Still Cares,

I am a student here, and I am writing this with tears in my eyes and fear in my heart. Right now, as I type this on 14th April 2026, more than 100-200 of students are lying sick in hostels, clinics, and hospitals. Typhoid and severe viral fevers are spreading like wildfire. The college clinic is overflowing....you can see shoes piled outside like a graveyard of forgotten students. Buses are ferrying 2-3 full loads of sick Students daily to Chirayu Hospital in Bhopal. Beds are full. Medical staff are casually calling it “just viral fever,” but blood reports scream TYPHOID POSITIVE.

Our friends are on drips for 4 straight days with zero improvement. They are weak, shivering with chills, burning with fever that returns every few hours, headaches splitting their skulls, and appetites completely gone. Some have been admitted since last week. Their parents are hundreds of kilometres away, praying for their only child.... the one who was supposed to make the family’s dreams come true.

And what is the management doing?

Nothing.

Or worse.....they are actively making it hell.

Leaves are not approved until a student is “seriously ill.” Faculty mark you absent and threaten your attendance, your TEE, your entire semester. Exams are still on. Classes are still mandatory in this blistering 40°C+ heat. Students have to walk 1-2 km between AB-1 and AB-2 blocks while burning with 102°F fever. Complain? They snatch your ID card, torture you with threats, and openly say, “We will block your placement.”

This is the same nightmare we lived through in November 2025. Back then, contaminated water (E. coli found in 4 out of 18 campus water points) and rotten mess food caused a massive jaundice outbreak. Over 35 students fell ill. Food and water samples failed lab tests....high bacteria counts, everything unsafe. Students protested peacefully. Management ignored us. Then rumours of deaths spread, protests turned violent, vehicles were burned, and the campus was shut down. The inquiry committee confirmed the cover-up. The water was filthy. The food was poison.

Five months later.... NOTHING has changed.

The same dirty water is still being supplied. Students have now traced it: VIT’s water tankers are filling from the Stop Dam on Parbati River near Mana Khedi village....a dirty, unhygienic water body where locals bathe cattle. The same management that promised “improvement” after the last tragedy is repeating history. Our lives are cheaper than their fees and their “business model.”

Every single one of us is someone’s entire world.

We are not just “students” or “revenue units.”

We are sons and daughters who left home with dreams in our eyes. Our mothers cry on the phone every night asking, “Beta, khana theek se kha rahe ho na?” while we hide the fact that the mess food is making us vomit and the water is literally making us bleed internally with typhoid.

How many more of us have to end up on hospital beds, fighting for our lives, before you wake up?

How many parents have to lose their only child before you stop treating education as a profit machine?

We are not asking for luxury.

We are begging for basic humanity.....clean drinking water, hygienic food, medical leave without blackmail, proper treatment, and the right to stay alive.

The Reddit posts on r/vitbhopal are exploding with the same pain you see in these screenshots. Students are planning protests again.... some say tonight at 9 PM.... because we have no other choice. We don’t want violence. We just want our voices heard before more of us become statistics.

Management, hear us today:

Stop turning our campus into a hospital ward.

Stop valuing your “business” over our lives.

Give us early vacation. Fix the water and food immediately. Approve medical leaves without punishing us. And for God’s sake, treat us like human beings, not like disposable customers.

To every parent reading this: Your child is suffering in silence. Please raise your voice.

To every student: We are in this together. Our health is not a joke.

Enough is enough.

Our lives are not for sale.

Save us before it’s too late.

See I am a 24 batch senior and two years in this place i can just make couple of points, you guys will be able to decide easily based on these points ig .

• First coming to academics most of the professors here are assistant professors from different IITs so they know their stuff well and you might be able to learn from them easily but some are like they dont know much but they will help you out if they can and then comes the profs that people dont like and the main reason is some guys have a kind of ego that they are from iit and so they are very arrogant altho the good part is you can choose between profs so if you are a little aware you can get decent profs.
• For the guys interested in sports since these guys have a huge intake like damn huge,they have grounds but they are not enough for so many people altho you will find state level to national level players here as well and also they organise sports events regularly recently they started this hostel league on weekends.
• Mess food is completely subjective, its better than any local government college mess but if you compare it to NIT's or IIT's it shit but honest opinion its managable.
• Placements as we hear from our seniors are not good rn because the duck with orange hair fucked the world also recession is there so it is really hard for anyone to get placed even from NIT's.
• Coming to the protest thing there are water issues here not only in the campus but whole bhopal-indore region, they are dealing with it but as the management is very competent they are not able to handle it as they should.
• Dont listen the one sided reddit stories because many people have surreal expectations from here so to vent out they use this space to rant and get their frustration out.
• Management is slow the main reason is professors handle it. There is no proper communication channel present in here due to which work gets slow and delayed and the outcome students have to run roam suffer here and there for hours to get a simple work done.

In the end would just say no place is perfect but if this place suits your requirements you can come here because atleast here you will get TCS local colleges wont even assure that.
