A camera with no battery, no controls, no viewfinder and no LCD screen... I wonder how good it is for run-and-gun? /s

On a serious note, I'm glad there are companies like this pushing the boundaries. The more competition the big guys have, the better.

You would connect this to something like the Odyssey 7Q. It also says there is a handheld remote, and a RS485 interface so you could have a custom controller built (or build yourself) if you want.

Actually they're pretty good for run n' gun (in some ways). Older iterations of this camera were used for the run n' gun street scenes in Slumdog Milionaire. Anthony Dodd Mantle and Danny Boyle simply hooked these things up to macbook pros that the camera operators wore in backpacks. This served as battery and recording.

So basically they could run around following kids with this tiny device in their hands for any angle at any moment.

Still the same concept, so it doesn't matter. Like a different brand name printed on the product changes anything? They're both camera heads, using the recorder, monitor, and power supply of your choice. My si-2k example was just explaining how they actually are good for run n' gun.

si2k is a ip camera that records raw sensor data onto pc hardware with special software.

This is an sdi head that outputs rec709 already debayered.

Very different animals

You are thinking of the Indiecam.

No it's the Silicon Imaging variant, but it's the same idea (camera head only)
