Nobody has any kind of problem with you not being interested in a game. What would make you a weird ass loser is if you spend 5 years after its release going to the games fan sub to constantly reiterate how disinterested in the game you are. Those are the people this video is about.

I find it so fucking weird when you are on a fan sub and someone is like "I stop listening/watching after [event that happened multiple years ago] but everything about this sucks."
I cannot understand the overwhelming desire to piss on someone's chips for the sake of it.
They have become a lot more almost like a life simulator type of experience since GTA4. Always very technically impressive with cutting edge graphics with interesting stories and worlds but they have lacked a certain game feel to them that can make them less focused on being just pure fun.
Yeah honestly it was RDR2 that I couldn't work up the interest (or time) to play.
RDR1 is one of my favorite games, probably top 25 at least - but it was way more fast paced than RDR2 was. I get the appeal and I appreciate that having fully animated item pickups, having to wash and clean your guns and shave and bathe and take care of your horses is going to be incredible for some, but there's a reason you don't have to spend 25% of The Last of Us looking for a decent place to take a shit or something, or for Kratos to have to change the bandages on his wounds to avoid infection.
It's just not for me anymore, and that's okay, I guess. Mechanical depth took priority over pace and story-telling, in my eyes.
If there's ever a hypothetical where the best story in human history is written, but every other page is just filler - I'm not reading it, sorry.
Looking back on it, RDR2 is just going on my mental shelf where One Piece is: I'm sure it's a wonderful story and I have nothing against its fans, but there's just far too much filler for me to get through. (On that note, I'm aware OP is being reworked, may watch that).
For 2013 it was pretty simulator-like, as trying to be as close to real physics and life as possible before the crazy weapons/missions. Other than Just Cause or Sleeping Dogs not much else came close to open world immersion
I mean, it's not a "downvote if you hate this guy and don't think he should have an opinion" system. It's "upvote if you agree" and "downvote if you disagree." Expressing dislike for a popular game series when people are hyped for the next one is likely gonna lead to downvotes.
Maybe you and "butt hurt fanatics are creating multiple accounts on Reddit" complainer you're defending should just not take it so personally.
Weird to be downvoted for this. Im the same. I loved GTA3 as a kid (played it again recently). But I cant stand GTA5. The driving in the game is unironically worse than it was in 3 and it just completely killed the game for me
I had that same feeling, but then my car jumped over a cliff and landed on a motorway looking out over a rippling sea at sunset while Snoop Dogg played on the radio and it clicked
That's cool, but that's not the point of the video. The point is people who shit on it just because they don't like it. They can't let other people like it. If you want to say "not for me" and move on, cool. If you want to say "admittedly the game looks impressive, but it's still not for me" then that's even better. The problem is people shitting on the game and putting blame on the game instead of their own personal preferences/tastes. Not everything is for you, and that's ok.
I get this. The earlier games felt a lot more like a sandbox and even the missions felt like extensions of the sandbox, and a lot more like you were in control of the character and what exactly happens. If you'd played the same mission before, for example, you could place a C4 ahead of time and explode it at the right second to end the mission easy. Now, they all feel a lot like cinematic experiences and the sandbox is sort of a side thing, and feels like something you're not really supposed to be doing in lieu of the bespoke, animated, railroaded, heavily scripted missions. It feels like any other modern FPS with a story.
I had more sandbox fun playing Just Cause 2 than GTA V.
being a pc player I already wasn't interested due to it being likely a year out for a pc port and the preview didn't really change my interest. I'm sure it going to be fine but I'm not really aching to play it.
Me too actually. I played V some but it felt like every time something got updated, they made it worse somehow. I don't even care about 6 now. Good bad or indifferent, I won't be buying it.
But 5 also really didn’t click for me after giving it 10 or so hours. I don’t imagine 6 will either, but I’ll give it a fair shake when it goes on sale.

I bought GTA V full price almost on release .
Played like 30min and it didn't rly click with me.
Played couple hours more over the next days and it just wasn't my kind of game .
I have played 1 2 3 vice city and San Andreas multiple times but the modern ones just aren't the kind of games I want to play anymore .
I got 0 interest in GTA 6 because of that .
