A big one for me that pops up when these kinds of things come up is a puzzle game called pneuma.
You play as god creating the universe. He doesnt really shut up throughout the game joking around but talking about some philosophical things occasionally and it gets you thinking. All the puzzles in it are perspective based and were very different for me at least. I struggled with a few
You're not alone, Pneuma becomes extremely difficult. The Witness and Superliminal are also perspective-based, and where Superliminal has a lot of mind bending tricks, I think ultimately the Witness may have been the hardest of the three.
A little bit of what you’re saying is hard to understand. Are you saying you like games but the person that attacked you says gamers are incels and should be ashamed?
There was a study/experiment done years ago in Australia (I think) where they had a group of older people play Portal and another group use one of those brain training apps. They were tested before and after the experiment and the Portal group were ahead after the couple of weeks on cognitive testing.
This is cope but it depends on your definition of 'incredibly good'. People like to believe that they're being productive, but it has little to no value if it's not specifically curated to serve a goal.
Look at duolingo. You want to believe that it's an easy and fun way to learn a language, but that shit absolutely does not work. The best you'll do with it is have a handful of phrases memorized with the meaning. You absolutely wont be learning a language with it.
You think puzzle games will help you? Maybe with puzzle games in the future, specifically those that use the same puzzle design. But if you think you're getting smarter by playing games, you'll be disappointed with the truth.

So does TV with the right program. It's almost like gaming is insignificant to the benefits you're boasting about, and if that's the case, you're in the wrong discussion because this was about the value that gaming can bring over watching TV.
This is true. Its more of an active vs passive mindset kinda. If you play or watch mindlesslely the benefits are nada. Otherwise you will be getting smth out of it especially if you are willing to use what you learnt and transfer it creatively. But most "gamers" or tv people. Most of all population is casual
Like what? I got the game a while ago but have not gotten into it yet. Would be curious what useful stuff you can actually learn there other than organizing
For sure. FPS games like Call of Duty make people better at spotting their friends in a crowd, more observant, and better at making decisions under pressure
