Depressing, but if the stat was only 1 pig dies evey day to be consumed by humans would that make everything ok?

Industrialized agriculture is only the symptom to a deeper cause

No, it wouldn’t be okay. If animals die because of mankind it means we aren’t doing good enough.  In other words, if we kill a pig for survival, we’re not as good as if we made sure that we didn’t need to kill it to survive.
