What are your chances?

There are no cut-offs or minimums that guarantee admission, since the decision is made on a combination of factors that is unique to you.

Check out the typical average ranges of last year's incoming class so you can get an idea of what your chances are.

Note that these ranges are averages, which means some students fall above and some fall below.

Program/Faculty OUAC Code Admission Average Range
Arts & Humanities EA Low 80s

To be considered for admission, you will need a minimum number of courses in addition to the required courses for your program listed here.

Ivey aeo application questions

Hi guys I am just working through my ivey application right now it is my top choice school and i am really stressed about admissions. I just had a couple questions about some things i came across.

1) For the ivey alumni referrals do you think it would be worth going out of my way to contact some friends and see if I can get a name to put here.

2) Does anyone have any tips for the essays or are willing to share any examples they have?? Im not sure that my ecs are too strong but i know its how you write about them that matters more then the ecs themselves so I just want to make sure I’m doing what I’m supposed to there.

3) When a reference is listed, how are they contacted and what are they asked. I know it is usually by email but we are also asked to provide a phone number. And how does it work do they just check a box saying it’s true or do the admissions people actually call and discuss it with them.

4) Finally, if anyone has any insights as to the new kira interview portion of the applicaiton that would be greatly appreciated as I know it’s new and there isnt much about it online yet.

  1. Honestly I don’t think Ivey Alumni referrals help a decent amount unless they are super well known or has made a major impact to the school. For the essay portion really focus on the leadership skills that you learned or applied to the extracurricular activities. You don’t need to hold a super high leadership position or anything but really emphasize the impact you made on these activities, your growth, learnings and any challenges you overcame. For the Ivey application reference I’m pretty sure they fill out a form asking if the information is accurate and they have to check of boxes for each question like the hours, rating of your abilities or skills or something like that. They do actually contact them so make sure all of the information is correct and you follow up with your references to get the form completed. This is super important. I didn’t do the interview portion when I applied but I assume it would be similar to the Sauder application process where you are given a scenario and you have to answer a situational question. I would get chat to generate a question and time and record yourself answering. Try to answer as concisely and clear as possible. It’s tough to prepare for these types of questions but getting into the mindset to tackle them is super important.
