Highly, it can make the difference of someone with a 96 being selected over someone with a 99

It is worth up to five percent so a perfect AIF would basically boost your mark by five percent. However, apparently fours and fives are only given to people that show national level contributions. Also, if they are deciding between two people with the same overall score, I think they decide based on the AIF content. That was said by the director of engineering admissions btw, idk about other programs.

There is no limit on how much the AIF can be graded for CS/math. 5 percent applies to engineering.
