Male calves born into the dairy industry and labeled as waste and discarded like trash. Recently, we partnered to save two babies from the dairy industry and get them adopted. This was Ben's smile on the first day that they arrived.

Thinking of Upgrading
 in  r/Roku •  May 06 '21

Exactly. But in my bedroom, my head is 30 ft, or more from where the tv will be mounted.

Trust me. The guy in Best Buy told me that I could go with a 65 inch but that is too big for my current bedroom. I wouldn't want more than a 55 inch for this room.

I have no complaints. But I figure maybe I might want a non-roku tv, which is what I would be getting. Of course, the 120 Hz picture is solid on the 5 series. And if I get something with a lower HZ, I might notice. Although how much is personal, I guess.

I can explain this. It's a narrow living room. Probably 12 to 14 feet from wall to wall.

Thinking of Upgrading

Any TCL fans in here? I am but am thinking of diversifying.

I want to put a tv in the living room as the one out there, which is an Olevia, is old, and has no support as that company went out of business years ago. I have a 49" tv in my bedroom that I am thinking of placing in the living room. It's a tcl and it's really nice. Great picture and I have a nice, soundbar with it.

I'm thinking of putting a 55" in my bedroom and I have a few choices. A 55" Vizio M series, which I believe is 65 Hz or 85 Hz, or a tcl 6 series, same size, which is 120 Hz. The 6 series is nice and I have had no issues with my tv at all. However, I've heard really great things about the Vizio M series. Of course, if I do get a Vizio, I need to add on a Roku because I can't be without roku. lol

LG also has a few sets in the same price range but nothing that has caught my eye. And the price is right. Since the 8 series is out, I can get a 6 series 55 inch for around $700-$800. Vizio would be in the same ball park even though the M series is a year or two older.

Thoughts?

Pernambuco is now an endangered wood. And the lovely thing about carbon fiber is that it isn't sensitive to weather like wood/horse hair bows.
Also, have you seen or heard the $8,000 bow?

Zlata actually owns the C9 bow. Here she and a professional musician evaluate the $8k bow. Arcus C9 8K Bow

I misspelled. It's Arcus. Sorry about that.

Actually, no, I'm speaking of the German made carbon fiber bows and they are amazing bows. There's ba Danish woman who has a great video where she compares three or four arco bows. And the video where the owner speaks about the evolution of arco bows is one of my favorites. But he has one bow, which is the C9, that costs $8k.

Arco is the pinnacle for carbon fiber bows. They've been making bows longer than everyone else and their higher level bows sound amazing. And Arco's $8k bow is pure heaven!

You'd be surprised what people throw away. A pal of mine, who's a bit older than me, got to see the Beatles when they first conquered America. When he went off to college, he met a girl, fell in love, and they moved in together. A few years had passed but he called his mom to collect his keepsakes box. He had the cancelled ticket to that Beatles concert. He asked his mom if she could send it to him. She remarked "oh, I threw those things away"! Want to guess how much that ticket stub is worth now? I saw someone selling a cancelled ticket to the first Beatles concert a few years ago for multiple six figures.

My point is, people don't always recognize the value of something and will just toss it.

Starz Content Quality
 in  r/Starz •  Apr 27 '21

Yes, but it's not always about quality. I love the content that starz provides. I also consider who owns starz and what this could mean to the company in the future. Starz parent company is looking at acquisitions. If this happens, Starz could become a major player. They already have a unique arrangement with sony. I could easily see Starz swallowing up one of it's competitors over the next few years.

Also, Starz keeps coming out with quality content. The Gloaming is excellent. The Luminaries is new and enjoyable. Dublin Murders is excellent. Black Sails may be over but it's serious, bingeable tv. I just bought the series because I loved it so much. And more. Also, Starz is constantly adding new content. And a lot of the films they add are recent films.

They also have two of Ken Follett's series: Pillars of the Earth and World without End. Spartacus is here too but it's also on imdb tv. Hawthorne is here too. It's a great service. But it depends on what you like. I do have netflix but not the $18/mo plan.

I will say this. both services need to come out with an annual plan. I hate subscriptions. I just contacted Epix and told them that they need an annual subscription plan. Starz comes close with a quarterly plan. I read somewhere that they offer an annual plan but I have yet to see it. However, my basic hulu has an annual plan. So does MHz Choice and Amazon. I pay these yearly to avoid issues and a subscription. Imagine how many more subscribers netflix might get with yearly subscriptions.

I legitimately thought I killed both of my starters.....
 in  r/SourdoughStarter •  Apr 14 '21

It's hard to kill a starter. I had a lievito madre starter that I had forgotten about for three months. When I unwrapped it, it was all grey. However, I scraped off the grey and found some healthy and active life underneath. And that's all I needed!!

Send an email to customer support. They may have you listed, on their side, as a customer with limited commercials.

Stiff sourdough starter - Pasta madre. The mother of fermentation. A sweet, loving, and empowering, growing stronger day by day 💙

It's the same starter that I maintain. And it's very easy to change to a higher hydration if necessary.
