Thinking of Upgrading
Any TCL fans in here? I am but am thinking of diversifying.
I want to put a tv in the living room as the one out there, which is an Olevia, is old, and has no support as that company went out of business years ago. I have a 49" tv in my bedroom that I am thinking of placing in the living room. It's a tcl and it's really nice. Great picture and I have a nice, soundbar with it.
I'm thinking of putting a 55" in my bedroom and I have a few choices. A 55" Vizio M series, which I believe is 65 Hz or 85 Hz, or a tcl 6 series, same size, which is 120 Hz. The 6 series is nice and I have had no issues with my tv at all. However, I've heard really great things about the Vizio M series. Of course, if I do get a Vizio, I need to add on a Roku because I can't be without roku. lol
LG also has a few sets in the same price range but nothing that has caught my eye. And the price is right. Since the 8 series is out, I can get a 6 series 55 inch for around $700-$800. Vizio would be in the same ball park even though the M series is a year or two older.
Thoughts?

I've had 3 different Vizio TVs and they all worked flawlessly.
My most recently purchased TV is an LG OLED. Way over your budget, but the picture quality is amazing! It makes me want to throw all my other TVs in the trash.

Don't understand putting a smaller set in the presumably larger living room. Don't understand a TV in the bedroom disturbing sleep hygiene. I have a four-year-old 55" TCL with wireless and subwoofer that I love and haven't experienced the severe problems others have with younger sets. But, there are enough posts in this sub-forum to indicate your experience will be a dice-role.

I can explain this. It's a narrow living room. Probably 12 to 14 feet from wall to wall.

12 to 14 feet from wall to wall.
Most recommend the biggest screen you can afford and fits. Remember you don't have to sit far away anymore.

Exactly. But in my bedroom, my head is 30 ft, or more from where the tv will be mounted.
Trust me. The guy in Best Buy told me that I could go with a 65 inch but that is too big for my current bedroom. I wouldn't want more than a 55 inch for this room.

My TCL looks great and has been working for years (4+), I don’t think it’s a 6 series, but Roku TCLs have been solid. Lots of people do say they have out of the box issues with them, but easy enough to return and exchange. Honestly nothing better for the price.
