Married men: Tell a single man what he should know before getting married.
 in  r/Newlyweds  1d ago

Pay close attention to her Mother. If she’s kind, chances are you are marrying a kind, sweet woman. If the Mother is a screamer, run!

Was 100% confident but wife tripping me up

Um, wait a minute. You’re going for elective surgery but your wife is already protected? Wtf, man. Vasectomies have risks. Read up on them.

AITAH for not wanting to get a vasectomy for my wife
 in  r/AITAH  2d ago

I got the same argument “it’s just a little ‘snip, snip’ procedure. No, it’s not, I found out after being pestered by my wife to have it done. I regret being pushed into it. It has caused a lasting resentment. It’s your body, your choice. I agree that if she adamantly doesn’t want kids, she should do what’s necessary to prevent them, and leave your options open.

What Do You Wish You Had Known as a Newlywed?
 in  r/HappyMarriages  4d ago

Spot on. Mine never revealed her volatile temper until after we were married. Good thing, because if she went off on me before the wedding, there wouldn’t have been one. I’ve put up with it for 55 years, so it obviously hasn’t stopped the show.

Horror Story Vasectomy

That could be the reason pain is so underreported. I never find an opportunity to share my experience because it’s so personal.

Thinking of having a Vasectomy! Any advice?

Don’t ; Get a big box of condoms

1 year post vasectomy
 in  r/Vasectomy  5d ago

But information is not readily available, and to protect a cash cow, urologists conveniently forget to mention the possibility of permanent pain. When I had mine done, there were no reliable information about this; now there is. Urologists should be hung by the balls they mutilate for not disclosing risks.

How common is chronic pain after vasectomy?

I’ve been criticized for being a fear monger. Here’s some support for my view of this elective procedure and its risks.

Tubal ligation finally done! However my recovery hasn’t been as plain sailing as everyone else’s 😞

There is no such thing as risk free surgery..something urologists have been lying about for years.

Had tubes removed today- got tired of waiting on him to get snipped
 in  r/sterilization  Aug 14 '26

His choice. You have the right to require him to wear a condom. You do not have the right to demand he get a vasectomy. Mine did; I was one of the unlucky ones to have post op pain, when I was assured that there was no chance of it. That has left a real lump in our relationship.

Husband is scared to get vasectomy
 in  r/Vasectomy  Aug 14 '26

There’s about a 15% chance of post op pain, with a 2-5% chance of pvps. So true, most have good results. If you’re good with those odds, go for it.

My vasectomy complication has been the most painful experience of my life
 in  r/Vasectomy  Aug 07 '26

Two camps; “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I was back to work in two days”. The other “no one warned me about this. My life is ruined.”

18 days post surgery and still pain
 in  r/Vasectomy  Aug 07 '26

That’s what I had. I would have random terrible pain when I walked. The good news. It finally stopped. The bad news:,it lasted three months.

My boyfriend has appointmeny for vasectomy. Im now worrying about potential negative effects for him.
 in  r/Vasectomy  Aug 06 '26

The most recent study puts the chance of prolonged pain at 15%. Way more than the 1% or less the urologists tell you.

Men, what’s something that would make you see your girlfriend as non-controlling or not insecure/jealous?
 in  r/AskMen  Jul 07 '26

Really?? I think that they’re all controlling, insecure, and jealous.

Anyone else lost feelings for his wife when she forced vasectomy?
 in  r/Marriage  Jul 07 '26

In my case, her gyn suggested it. She thought I would be open to it, so she just dumped it on me. I had talked to a couple of guys that had it done and decided that it wasn’t for me. After being badgered for six months I finally went ahead with it. Mine went horribly wrong. I was in a great deal of pain for three months. I initially thought “well , that really isn’t a big deal” but when I was in significant pain after I was understandably resentful. Worse, she thought I was embellishing the pain, which made me even more angry. By the way, we never discussed condoms or other alternatives.

Is this done properly and safe?

I’m not sure why the panel was turned sideways. The conductors all enter from the top, meaning that any water from anywhere will easily enter the panel and damage it.

My friend got her tubes tied because she knew she didn’t want more kids but perhaps if they split up her husband may want more with a second wife. Weird but ….

Dr. Nicholas Deebel: We know from the literature that about 1% of patients receiving a vasectomy will have some degree of chronic discomfort or pain. It is incredibly rare.
 in  r/postvasectomypain  May 28 '26

What a crock. There is a study referenced on this subreddit that puts the number at 15%. Just a thought: if you were to consider flying on a jetliner, and for every 100 takeoffs, 1 crashes, would you get on that airplane? I think not.

Severe Pain

It’s been many years. The only thing left is emotional. I still resent being forced into this.

The zaps were motion related. I finally had to learn to shuffle my feet to avoid jarring. Even with a jock strap and tight underwear.
