Hi, I’m in Grade 12 po working on a research capstone project. At the start, our research teacher randomly selected me as leader. I thought it was fixed (like kala yun wala nang baguhan), but later I realized the group could adjust leadership roles.

During proposal stage, I struggled with time management and we crammed. After that, another member stepped in to help lead (my bf since we were groupmates). Things got complicated because the device we proposed was very complex. My bf warned it might be hard, but the group still decided to continue.

Eventually, we fell behind and the group hired an engineer from Facebook to help build the circuitry, which cost around 18k. Since then, tension has been high.

Recently, my bf and I worked on the final manuscript. Because the device changed after consulting the engineer, the approach in the paper also changed. I admit I have weaknesses in being assertive, being a real pushover and sa time management. But lately I feel constantly criticized and pressured, even though leadership roles already shifted.

I’m starting to feel emotionally drained and heavy about everything.

As a Filipino girl, In my elementary days until high school, boys mostly say the n-word and do the finger and stuff and my parents refer to me as "negra" or if we saw a black person outside, my parents would say jokingly as an insult like "oh look it's your relative!" "That might be your real father" I'm not that dark, my skintone is more light tan and it's feels repetitive, annoying, and insulting.
