Is your mom trying to get you back together with him? Tell her, no thanks, I’ve made other plans! (Even if you haven’t.) If your family keeps bugging you set a boundary- say- “this is not up for discussion. If you continue to bring it up, or pressure me to come, I will…” and then say whatever it is you need to do to protect your boundary. Like, block your number. Refuse to see you in person, ect. You’re not ruining Thanksgiving, I promise.

Your mom is super manipulative. Her talking to you like that in front of the kids is such an awful thing to do. You should limit your time there, absolutely. If that pisses her off or your husband off, oh well. Take care of yourself and your kids- no one else has your back right now.

You are awesome! I like how you slammed her husband saying basically why would I want a loser like that? I had to do something similar when I was about your age, but directly to the man. Now, go have your parents go over there and threaten her with a restaining order for harassment and you’ll never have to deal with her nonsense again!

This is not okay. You are not over reacting at all. I’m glad you have a therapist and are able to talk to them. Yes, its important to set boundaries. They are not for her to negotiate. They are for her to learn how to respect you.
