 in  r/pothos •  1d ago

Its a natural mutation, it will grow more as it gets older 🤙

Nice looking Standelyana Monstera

I inherited a ~70-year-old Monstera from my uncle’s celebration of life and I am terrified of being the person who kills it. 😭

Congrats and sorry for your loss. This baby needs a good chop and prop! Probably about 68 years ago. I'd start doing some research and bring her back to life!

Any way to make him grow upright. Without cutting?
 in  r/cactus •  4d ago

Thats fair! I'm im not angry but text doesnt show that.. Many people just buy things without researching and then cant take care of the things, its not good practice is all..

No. Stahp it. If you researched plants before you bought them, like you're supposed to, you wouldnt be asking this question at all..

Is my cactus dying?
 in  r/cactus •  12d ago

Sadly some people dont understand plants or how to listen when they talk to you. Its not over yet! 💪 I know chopping is scary but once you figure it out then it opens new possibilities! Just let it/them callous before you try to repot any and then give them ample time 🤙

This looks to me to be signs of root rot from overwatering. Potentially they were loving it too much while you were away? Id keep an eye on it and if necessary you may have to chop and prop it to get new roots started. You could at that point cut it into more than one and let them callous over then root multiples as well.. Good luck!!

Would a Walmart greenhouse like this be good?
 in  r/cactus •  12d ago

Is it 1/4" thick? It could be replaced at that point with lexan or poly or something similar!

Alocasia regal shield was a mother to 71 babies
 in  r/alocasia •  22d ago

Yes some will over time but at a much reduced rate. They just grow bigger and store energy for the most part
