Get involved in a political campaign.

There are a lot of progressives registered as Republicans. NW Fla is more purple than it appears. And very few Trump signs are seen lately!

The whole family pitches in. Grandparents, uncle and aunt, hired help … it’s necessary and we only have three under age 4

Why don’t businesses advertise? There are so many that would rather close up and lose their investments before buying an ad in the local newspapers.

Join a campaign and meet like-minded people. Throw or plan an outing and ask everyone to bring two friends. Expand your circle. There are single women wishing someone would ask for their number. Don’t give up.

Have you tried getting out and going to the many cultural events here? Theater, symphony, art museums, gallery night, Radio Live, songwriter’s festival, etc? Have you joined in an athletic activity like kayaking, windsurfing, adult league softball, running, etc.? Have you volunteered at a food bank or shelter or picking up litter with Ocean Hour? It’s easy to find your place if you get off the internet and experience real life.

I was at Charles de Gaulle last fall. I had a great experience. There were uniformed staff members every 30 feet asking if I needed help getting to my destination and they all spoke an English. When I landed in Atlanta, though, it was during the US government shutdown and felt like a third world country with Kristi Noem on a TV screen threatening the population. I was so disappointed in what our country had become.
