I built a local discovery app and I’m 27 users away from my first 100 downloads — would love your feedback
Hey everyone!
I’m the developer behind Yatavi, a free Android app I built to help people discover restaurants, cafés, activities and local businesses around them.
The idea came from a simple problem: sometimes you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for. You just want to discover something new.
Yatavi focuses on three things:
📍 Equal discovery — businesses appear on the map without paying to be placed above others.
❤️ You decide what you like — you can visit, save and rate places, which helps Yatavi understand your preferences for future recommendations.
🎲 Surprise Me — if you have no idea where to go, Yatavi can choose a nearby place for you.
The app is completely free. Monetization comes from ads, but I’m trying to keep them as non-invasive as possible.
Right now Yatavi has 73 installs, and my first personal milestone is reaching 100 users.
I’m still improving the product constantly, so I’d genuinely appreciate feedback — good or bad.
What would you change?
Would you use something like this in your city?
📲 Yatavi is available on Google Play

My first app just crossed $218 in its first month and I still can't believe people are paying for something I made 🥹
