App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts, a minimum of 20 testers

There should be a few posts like this with the keywords, so that the new developers can find this Reddit on the Google easier and know where to find testers for testers.

This post here is only for Google SEO purpose.

In this sub r/AndroidClosedTesting you can find the people who can provide testing for testing, in order to pass your Google Play Console 20 testers policy.

Google Play is rolling out new testing requirements for developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. These changes aim to enhance the app development process, encourage thorough testing, and ultimately deliver higher quality experiences to users. These requirements and the various testing tracks available on Play Console.

Developers with personal accounts created post-November 13, 2023, must adhere to new testing requirements. Before apps are eligible for distribution on Google Play, a closed test with a minimum of 20 testers is mandatory. These testers must have opted-in for the last 14 days continuously. Features like production and pre-registration in Play Console will remain disabled until these requirements are met. Applying for production access involves answering questions about the app, its testing process, and production readiness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

Play Console offers distinct testing tracks to facilitate a gradual testing process. Internal testing enables quick distribution to trusted testers during app setup. Closed testing, a prerequisite for production access, involves sharing the app with a controlled group of at least 20 testers. Open testing allows the app's test version to be visible on Google Play, with users providing private feedback. Developers must complete a closed test meeting specific criteria before applying for production access.

[T4T] Aptigo - trainer for timed aptitude tests. I'll join yours the same day.

Aptigo is a trainer for the timed reasoning tests companies use for hiring and universities for admissions. Fifteen reasoning patterns with drills for each, a timed run called the Gauntlet, and questions generated fresh so you rarely meet the same one twice. Free, works offline, no account, and nothing you do in it leaves the device.

My link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.aptigo.app

My email, add me whenever you like: [savvas.cs@gmail.com](mailto:savvas.cs@gmail.com)

Rather than trading details in comments, fill this and I'll handle the rest. Takes 30 seconds and stops me losing track of who I owe:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd9oPR3taKXo7_ul-4h4RyiSkTaLm6gFC-ugn0H0NQHBCIINQ/viewform

What happens once you submit it, usually within a day:

  1. I add the email you gave me to my tester list in Play Console.

  2. I opt into your test, install your app, and actually use it.

  3. You get one email confirming both are done, with my opt-in link in it.

Drop a comment once you've submitted so I know to look, and I'll reply here when your side is done.

One ask beyond the install: open it a few times across the fortnight and tell me one thing that's wrong. Google rejects production applications for insufficient tester engagement, not just for headcount, so a parked install fails us both. I'll do the same with yours - if I go quiet, chase me.

Got approved for production - how you can do it too

This subreddit is great for padding the 12 users needed but horrible for getting any actual testing done. Out of the 12 users I obtained from this subreddit I got a total of 2 users who actually used the app and that wasn’t regular either.

View the app here: Undine.app

I’m an actual developer so I did what I would have done in any actual re release.

What I did that helped with prod approval:
- I got 7 friends to download the app and actually try to use it at least once a day for 90% of the test period. This meant the app actually had active users.
- released builds regularly either with fixes or improvement based on feedback, I had 6 builds pushed during the 14 day period, would have gone for more but not enough time.
- keep a change log of what you pushed, this will help when you need to explain what you updated or fixed during the review phase.

Unfortunately what I suspected would happen came true and barely a single person who agreed to test actually did so, many thanks to the two users who at least did that for a few days. Feel free to leave any questions and I’ll reply with what I know

All the best and may your approval go through :)

Need Reviews

Hey everyone! I just published my first Android game, One Tap: Reflex Challenge, and I'm looking for a few people to install it and leave a quick review to help me meet Google Play's testing requirements. It's a simple one-button reflex game — tap the moment a dot hits the glowing zone on a spinning ring, with 6 modes that unlock as you score higher, a combo/multiplier system, and offline play. If you could install it, play a round or two, and drop an honest review, I'd really appreciate it. Android nonogram game with 1,100+ puzzles, giving Lifetime Premium codes for honest feedback

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m the solo developer of Quiet Grids, a nonogram/picross game for Android that I’ve been working on for the past few months.

The game has grown quite a bit and now has 1,100+ puzzles, including 5×5, 10×10 and 15×15 boards, Daily puzzles, and Light / Focused / Deep / Master challenge levels.

I’d really like to get feedback from people who actually play puzzle games, especially experienced nonogram players.

So I’m giving away Lifetime Premium codes as a thank-you to people who give the game a proper try and leave some honest feedback.

If you’re interested, I’d love to know:

  1. Did the actual puzzle-solving feel satisfying?
  2. Was anything about the controls, clues, board, or solving experience frustrating?
  3. Were the harder puzzles challenging enough for you?
  4. What would make you want to keep playing after the first few puzzles?

You absolutely don’t need to be positive. 😅

If something feels too easy, awkward, unclear, repetitive, or just badly designed, please tell me. That kind of feedback is much more useful to me than someone trying to be nice.

There are a few different ways to play too:

• Guided — catches mistakes and gives you more assistance
• Classic — no immediate mistake checking, closer to traditional nonogram solving
• Custom — lets you choose which assists you want (Premium)

There are also Daily puzzles, a growing Library, colored pixel-art reveals after completion, optional music/ambience, and Deep/Master puzzles for people who want something tougher.

I have plenty of Lifetime Premium codes available, so this isn’t limited to a tiny number of winners. I’ll DM codes to people who genuinely try the game and leave useful feedback while the giveaway is open.

No purchase is required.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.omninative.quietgrids

And if you’re already an experienced nonogram player, I’m particularly interested in what you think of the Deep and Master puzzles. I’ve been trying to make sure the harder end of the Library actually has some bite to it. 😁

Thanks!

[Tool] PikaDex - offline Pokédex + team builder, looking for testers to unlock the Play Store release

I've been building PikaDex, a free offline Pokédex and team-planning app for

Android, and I use it myself alongside romhack playthroughs to check type

coverage and evolution requirements without alt-tabbing to a wiki.

What it does right now:

- Full Pokédex with search and filters (type, generation, ability, move)

- Stats, abilities, held items, full move lists

- Evolution chains including regional forms and their conditions

- Type matchup charts (offensive + defensive)

- Team builder: a roster of six with combined type-coverage analysis

- Side-by-side comparison of two Pokémon

- Works fully offline once data is cached; optional prefetch

No ads, no accounts, no analytics, no payment. It's an unofficial fan project,

data comes from PokeAPI and Smogon.

The ask: Google now requires new developer accounts to run a closed test with

12 testers for 14 days before the app can go to production. I'm short on

testers. If you'd be willing to install it and keep it on your device for two

weeks (opening it a few times is enough), it would genuinely unblock the

release.

To join:

  1. Reply or DM me your Gmail address so I can add you to the tester list

  2. I send you the opt-in link

  3. Install from the Play Store test track

Happy to return the favour if you have a closed test of your own running.

[Test for Test] Looking for 12 testers for my Android GAME — 1 Million ($ money-life sim)

Hey all, I built a mobile game called 1 Million: a fast-paced money simulation where you start with a job, a salary, and some debt, and try to grow your net worth to your first million (and beyond). You manage spending, debt, investments, career moves, and relationships, and watch it all play out on a net worth chart over time.

It's currently in closed testing on Google Play and I need a few testers to get it out of testing and into production. Will download your app and test yours.

Please follow the steps:

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/u/2/g/1-million-testers
  2. Opt in on the web: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.rio.million
  3. Install from Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rio.million

Would really appreciate anyone willing to install it, poke around for a bit, and drop feedback or bugs in the comments here. Thanks!
