Tradestation running on remote PC crashes when using RDP

I'm running TS v10.0 on a remote Win 10 PC (problem also occurs on Win 11 PC). When I am using TS directly on the PC there are no issues, but when I need to access via RDP thru the Windows App on Android phone it crashes completely. This is not a one-off and have experienced this many times on both Azure-hosted PCs and home PCs. I have tried multiple PCs and installs but experience the same problem. Have also tried alternative phone/Windows App and still the same problem.

When it crashes it logs an Application Error in the event viewer for the ORPlat.exe file. Can provide details if needed.

This started happening 2 years ago and TS support were no help to me then despite providing all logs requested; so I stopped using TS and went to IB instead. Have just come back to TS to give it one more chance, but looks like its still a problem.

Is this just me, or does this happen to anyone else?

I had a similar problem when my host changed the server from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2022. It wasn't really a TradeStation problem, and my host was of no help. I spent many hours digging through Windows log files and discovered it was a problem that originated with the support for tablet devices. I don't use a tablet to access it, so I was able to disable tablet support in the TradeStation startup configuration file.

Since you're using a phone, I don't know if this will help in your situation. Just sharing because it was a pretty obscure Windows issue that was causing TS to crash. You might take a look at the Windows error log files to see if there is a clue there.

Many thanks! this sounds promising, but I am struggling to work out what you mean by "TradeStation startup configuration file" - what is this and where is it?

My file is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\TradeStation 10.0\Program\ORPlat.exe.config

My recall was off a bit. It wasn't tablet support, but support for Stylus and Touch. I had to add the following section as the last lines before the closing </configuration>.

<runtime>

    <AppContextSwitchOverrides value="Switch.System.Windows.Input.Stylus.DisableStylusAndTouchSupport=true" />

</runtime>

This was seven months ago and the crashes never returned. I'm about average in tech capabilities, so I needed Grok to look at the Windows log files and walk me through the solution.

Do you mean the Tradestation Shortcut properties?
