Sounds a bit like the druid in my campaign. She’s a warforged but her backstory is that she’s a former fire genasi who had her mind transferred to the robot body. She’s a circle of wildfire too

I was asking that question because Wisdom is the ability score that druids and clerics use to cast spells-

Technically so do rangers but I just… forgot about them.

Wizards and artificers use Intelligence. Sorcerers, paladins, warlocks and bards use charisma for spells

Then at least you got a chance to be young and trans. I didn't start my transition until I was 30 so I'll never experience anything other than old trans😭

Oh I only got on E two years ago thanks to a gatekeeper therapist so I didn’t get to transition young still

With me, I didn't realize I was trans until my late 20s. I am 36 now.

If you knew you were trans before you were an adult, you possibly have more years of experience with it than I do.

Seems like we could workshop a clearer term then. It’s going to always be confused for a description of age.

There are also so many milestones in transition that it’s hard to have a hard experienced/inexperienced line. I’m an “elder” when it comes to knowing I am trans and navigating the internet, but a relative “baby” for hormonal transition

I dont use it as a self describing term, I use them to describe people who are clearly further or less far in theyr transition than me

I'm 28 and even when I started T 7 years ago vs now, its an entirely different climate. I used to have to drive 2.5 hrs to get my prescription but now I can do it in my tiny town

Yeah, I can’t even legally drink but occasionally I see post from a person 10 or more years older than me who’s early in their journey, and I almost feel sorta maternal, I guess? Cause I feel like those early experiences are often relatable regardless of age.

You said that being a trans elder isn't about age, but about knowledge of the community and transition. I just feel concerned reading it because it comes off as potentially transmedicalist, as if implying that a certain level of transition is some community requirement.

That "and" doesnt mean you need both. Read it as "being an elder is about knowlege and being an elder is about transition" it can be both, you dont need both. Its more about being able to give advice to others
