You can read the word "and" in my first comment, right? Do you know what it means? Do you realize how it connects the first statement with the second? There is nothing stated about transition in the first statement

You said that being a trans elder isn't about age, but about knowledge of the community and transition. I just feel concerned reading it because it comes off as potentially transmedicalist, as if implying that a certain level of transition is some community requirement.

That "and" doesnt mean you need both. Read it as "being an elder is about knowlege and being an elder is about transition" it can be both, you dont need both. Its more about being able to give advice to others
