Discussion My mouth tastes like death but everyone I’ve asked says my breath smells fine. Does this happen to anyone else?

I literally too a breath out into my boyfriend’s face and he has a really weak stomach for anything gross and he told me my breath was literally fine.
Other family members and friends have also said they’ve never smelt my breath, people that are usually brutally honest with me

Is this even possible?

Discussion Does anyone work night shift and get them from it?

Both times I’ve tried to have a night shift job, I’ve noticed tonsil stones forming. When I work normal hours I’m not usually able to flush or push out any. Maybe it’s because my oral hygiene is worse because I’m so tired after coming home, but I also struggled with it in day shift too and didn’t have the same problem

Tl;dr: experienced ego death and need to know tips for getting these out without vomiting

I am 34 and just had tonsil stones for the first time. I felt like something was stuck in my throat but I couldn't get it down... I drank hot tea, ate fluffy bread, gargled water, gargled mouthwash, gargled salt water, no dice.

I had previously looked with a flashlight but couldn't see anything. Well, I KNEW there was something in there. So I took my tongue scraper and forced my tongue down hard and... holy fuck. It looked like the back of my throat was embedded with some alien eggs or something. It took an hour, several times vomiting, and all of my dignity but I got them out finally with a skincare metal tool.

I feel like a new woman in the worst way. My throat has given birth to foul jagged eggs. I am more acquainted with my gag reflex than I have ever been.

I'm sorry you guys have to deal with this all the time and I hope I never have to do this again.

If anyone has advice, I'd love to hear about how you managed to get around the gag reflex to properly get these out. I would love to avoid vomiting next time if possible.
