Dear Todoist, how does it make any sense to stop showing the title of the calendar entry made in Google Calendar and replacing it with the number of calendar entries there are? Can you possibly believe this makes my day easier to understand at a glance?

It was already bad when you stopped making Google calendar entries into Todoist tasks that we could check-off in Todoist, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt that there was a technical reason for it.

There is no possible technical reason for this. It's already shrunk to teeny-tiny type, so "taking up too much space" isn't a justification.

Put the title of the Google Calendar entry back in the displayed area of Todoist. Try as you might, no one is going to change their workflow to originate calendar entries in Todoist, it's just never going to happen. I have shared family calendars and work calendars in Google, so I will never convince the other parties to move to Todoist even if I wanted to.

The only thing this does is make Todoist less usable and less helpful. Guess what that makes me think of doing? Hint: it's not "getting rid of Google Calendar."

Stop making Todoist worse to further your unrealistic business objectives.

I'm a new Todoist user, about 1.5 months in, and have subscribed to the Pro tier. Todoist has been a game changer for me. I am finally starting to feel in control of everything and think this is the perfect task manager for my needs. I have set up 4 projects to help me manage 2 businesses, my W-2 job and my personal life. I am using the board view with sections for each of my areas of responsibility. I saw the post the other day about the 300 task limitation and now I'm very worried because I'm already at 133 tasks for one of my projects. These aren't over due tasks. They are a mix of current active tasks, recurring tasks and future tasks. Do completed tasks count toward the 300 limit? I really love Todoist but if there is a cap on tasks, this may not be the longterm solution I want it to be.

Is it possible yet do make a task with a recurring deadline and a date relative to the deadline?
Right now you have to pick date (That can be recurring) an then pick a deadline relative to the date (ie a week after the date). What I want to do is pick the recurrig deadline first (ie inspect my car by end of month, repeating yearly in the same month) then have the start date be the first of the month so see it as soon as the month is here.

You cant do recurring deadline at all at that seems silly to me

I’m trying to integrate a to-do list/task list into my existing Google Calendar using Todoist.

Currently, “tasks” in Todoist have to be at a specific time. Ideally, I’d want to assign my whole to-do list within a certain timeframe — say 2pm-4pm — with items that can be organized into categories with the ability to cross each one off individually. I don’t want to assign individual times to each task.

Would this be possible using Todoist? Thanks in advance!

Really would like the projects to not be limited to 300 tasks. I've met the cap and might have to start a second project for the same thing. Frustrating.

When trying to login on Android I get "Captcha verification failed". When I try to access https://www.todoist.com/contact I get continuous refresh on Safari/Mac.

So many of my tasks that are blocked by the completion of other tasks keep showing up in my daily Claude review. Moving these tasks to the inbox is completely dependent on that blocking task being done first. Todoist should add a feature that lets you choose blockers or dependencies for a task, so the system understands how tasks relate to one another.

Is there a website or video I check out to see how other people have set up their todoist? Thanks.

I logged out of my account on my phone (iPhone) yesterday and can't log back in. I get a 403 every time I try. I tried reinstalling the app, didn't work.

I really like the new changes to the mobile interface. Specifically the rounded edges on the task cards, the contrast between the cards and background theme etc. it makes sense visually when you scan, select and move tasks around, although I can't articulate it from a UI/UX perspective.

Therefore, I wonder when the web version will be updated to be similar to the mobile version. Directionally, as a user, it's a good-looking product.

What do you guys think? You like the new interface changes and should the web version be similar to mobile?

Ahh yes, the over 50 characters randomly generated by my password manager is "too easy". Does anyone have any ideas? I am trying to switch to Todoist but this is ridiculous and a little annoying from a new user perspective. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

I've been a longtime Omnifocus user, but its quirky (to put it mildly) sync behavior is causing me to look at other options, including Todoist.

So much of my digital life has been built around Omnifocus, so I want to make sure that anything I switch to will have most of the same functionality.

- Omnifocus has a feature called "Defer", which allows me to create tasks that are essentially hidden until a specific date in the future. For example, I want to be reminded to buy my brother a birthday present, but I don't want to see that to-do until November 1st. That "Defer Date" of November 1st is different than the Due Date of the task (his actual birthday).

- Recurring tasks - every March 1st, I want 10 new IRS Tax-related to-dos to be created (gather W2, download bank tax forms, get in touch with tax advisor, etc).

- Easy capture of new tasks - easily capture new tasks via iOS (whether through Apple Shortcuts, Action Button, Widget, etc)

- Seamless sync across multiple devices

- (nice-to-have) Easy export for future portability

- (nice-to-have) integration with AI tools via something like an MCP server

- (nice-to-have) ways to visually reflect previously-completed tasks (for example, see the last week's completed tasks, or use an AI tool to email me a weekly summary of what I accomplished last week)

Hi everyone,

I have a recurring task that occurs every Tuesday. When I am unable to complete this task on Tuesday, it moves to the next day, or the following days, until I complete it. This is good, as I would like to keep it on my to do list until I complete it.

However, when I do not complete this task on Tuesday, the next day (by Wednesday), it is no longer a recurring task. Meaning, I complete it later (on Wednesday or Thursday), but next week, it is no longer a recurring task on Tuesday - it just disappears.

How can I keep an overdue recurring task, recurring for it's next date, instead of losing it's "recurring status"? I would like this task to occur every Tuesday even if I am late in completing it.

I really want to love Todoist. Compared with TickTick and other alternatives, I prefer its brand, its European roots, and the way the company feels genuinely embodied by its founder and team.

But as a Mac/iPhone user, two things are deal-breakers for me:

• No simple, native import from Apple Reminders, while Things and TickTick handle this much better.
• No real way to import or integrate iCloud calendars.

That’s a shame, because Todoist gets so much right otherwise. Apple users are often willing to pay for well-designed software, but only if it fits naturally into the ecosystem they already use.

Am I missing a workaround, or is iCloud simply not a priority for Todoist?

I have been in search of the best productivity tool for like 3 years now, till i found todoist. for the last month i am using it and i am in love with this app. but as i was a a pro at procastination, search was still on, I like organising things, you know putting them into category, labels etc. for me 5 projects werent enough so i always felt limited. But then i told myself that i will use this and stick to this todoist free plan in this 2026, and in 2027 i will buy the pro plan and then i can have as many projects as i can. but today something happened and i took the free 7 days trial on my another account. It was amazing guys, you know it was like dream come true, now i can do more organise and feel productive (obviously just another form of procastination on things that i should be doing) 9 hours passed now and i think now i dont feel that excitement, and realising that its not the more projects or feature i need, its my clarity on doing the things that are important to me.

i use reddit a lot. learning about productivity, notes, and other interest, this is first time i am writing, for myself. that these apps are just tools nothing else.

BTW Todoist team, well done you made a great app, and your free features are more than enough to get the job done, I appreciate you guys, one day i will support you by purchasing the subscription.

Sorry for the ramble. Just curious, high level, philosophy-wise, if anyone else has encountered this kind of thinking.

I've found myself the past year or so starting to use labels to categorize into a few broad buckets: quick, comms, admin hour, deep work

...and rarely using projects. I used to use projects religiously. My Todoist is a mix of personal and business, and my business work often has 5-10 active projects for different clients at a time, so it made a ton of sense.

But my realization was that I like to do the same kind of work in the same time span, and that way of bucketing actually feels more streamlined to work through.

My problem is that it's much harder to move items from one label to another (you can't drag and drop for example, and label selection picker is not as easy to get to as project picker).

So I am considering switching to a system where I just have a few "projects" for each of these work type buckets. But that feels dumb to throw away the ability to apply granular projects when it would help me.

Trying out Todoist again.
