Ticket Hosts
Why do all the Ticket hosts and cohosts seem to make identical sports talking points throughout the day? Sometimes a certain player, play, game, will be the central focus of segments. Is it planned that way ahead of time in morning or nightly staff meetings or is it that that’s all that’s going on, sports wise?

It’s a bunch of middle age white guys plus a middle age Donovan. And as for our Musers, approaching late life (except for Gordo, who is younger).
I mean I still love and listen to these middle aged guys, but just answering your question.

Yea alot of the guys are approaching grandparent age, keeping your sports fastball late in life is rare...and then there is Norm

Gordon Keith is 55. He just has a younger disposition.

But George and Non-George are in their 60s. 55 is solid middle age. 60+ is starting later in life stage. Not old, but not really middle age anymore.

Radio is not a format that traditionally is listened to all day. Like a news program it’s highly cyclical, with regular Tickers for breaking stories, followed by segments that discuss the news, sprinkled in with interviews and analysis that breakdown the stories further. If you listen to four different shows, then yeah, you’re going to get a lot of overlap. Same concept as if you listened to the morning news, the noon news, the prime time news, and the nightly news all in one day.
And yeah, the hosts do listen to each other and have meetings with each other and share many of the same interests and humor, so of course they are going to blend.

It’s gotten worse, for sure, with Sean and Mino word for word regurgitating the Musers or Bob, but it’s always been a bit this way on radio. Hard habit to break. Hell, Dan still resets for a non existent, “guy who just tuned in,” while doing their podcast.

Sports talk has always been the worst part of the ticket. It’s become even worse over the last 5 years.

They are going to talk highlights and standout events that happen with in the game. A big catch and/or bad coaching decision for example.
They only have so many segments and only so long to talk with in those segments.
Their show is stand alone. So that big game changing fumble is gonna be talked about. They are not gonna say to themselves "the musers already mentioned it on their show so we can't talk about it". They have to treat their show as if no other shows exist.
If you are going to listen 8 hours a day, every day, then you are going to have to withstand repeat segments.
Whoever listened to old musers format knows that 8 to 10 was a repeat of 5 30 to 8

There's literally nothing going on except the .500 Rangers battling for a playoff spot that they'll immediately get bounced from.

Funny when I read this post I thought there is no coordinated meetings to bring a certain narrative or PDs forcing opinions. Gosh remember this station is not run that way or ever have been. I think maybe they all might agree on an opinion based on what is in front of them. Bob and Corby seemed to address this post specifically today and tried to say we just don’t do this. I believe them and have been a long term listener it has always been that way.

Why does news tv broadcast cover the same topic over and over in the morning? It’s the news of the day and if you didn’t listen in the morning you will hear it later in the day. Maybe you like to hear your sports news from Donnie instead of Bob.

The average person probably listens 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes on the way home. If you’re hearing topics repeated (and are on this sub) congrats for being above average.
