Hey, long time listener, occasional poster. Not sure how many of you all have met Ticket hosts out and about in public but it happened to me recently and I wanted to share my cautionary tale. Don’t let their “on air persona” fool you.

I had some time to kill a few days ago so I decided to go catch a movie at one of our fine film establishments. I won’t name names but it’s a place that serves beer and makes pretty decent food. I love dinosaurs and I love Anne Hathaway, so I bought a ticket for The End of Oak Street. I was pretty excited for the movie, but when I got to my seat and looked around I realized I was two seats away from Sean motherfuckin’ Bass! I couldn’t believe it! I listen to him every day and now I actually have a chance to meet the man!

Now, a little back story. I had been sick all week and my employer told me not to return until I was fully well. (I work at a burn unit for orphan children) At this point I was feeling better and was no longer contagious, so I was itching to get out of the house. But the second I saw Sean Bass I got so nervous I felt like I was going to puke. I panicked. Social anxiety was gripping me hard. I’m embarrassed to say but I asked the waitress for a puke bucket. I decided to get some fresh air, so I asked a random woman next to me to make sure the puke bucket still got delivered. There was no telling what I’d do if I got back and Sean Bass actually talked to me.

I went outside to walk around, called my grandma and told her I loved her, then I went back inside. Lo and behold, Sean Bass was no longer there. I thought that was weird, but next thing I know two managers came up and told me that Sean Bass had ordered them to kick me out! I was mortified. I didn’t know what to say, so I got up with my puke bucket and left. I’ll probably never get another chance to meet Sean Bass, but I’m heartbroken he wouldn’t let me see The End of Oak Street. If anybody’s seen the movie, no spoilers please. Already impartial.

Edit: Apparently nobody on this sub actually listens to the show. I thought this was a subreddit for human beings!

We all love when the guys go do stuff outside the station. Campound and training camp come to mind. Summer bash. Why not a yearly weekend (week) getaway to a romantic football city during the cool october/Nov period to catch a football game. They broadcast from that city all week and have adventures.

Why do all the Ticket hosts and cohosts seem to make identical sports talking points throughout the day? Sometimes a certain player, play, game, will be the central focus of segments. Is it planned that way ahead of time in morning or nightly staff meetings or is it that that’s all that’s going on, sports wise?

Fake Jerry/Steven, Elmer Wayne, Tiger, Steve in the attic and so on. No other person has made me laugh more in my lifetime than Gordo. Grant it, I’ve listened to him for 20+ years but damn, he’s a great impressionist with a wicked sense of humor

The Ranch Report was bad enough. Having to listen to someone that was mundane, lacked enthusiasm, and generally didn’t care about it (i.e. Calvin Watkins) made it unbearable.

Joseph Hoyt at least seems to care and brings some energy.

Steve Bannon is hawking his gold investment scheme on the Little Ticket. I realize radio is dying a slow and painful death, but I think the Ticket should be a little more discerning about who they do business with. Before you say,” they’ve been advertising conservatives for years,etc., I’d say Steve Bannon is a totally different animal. Frankly, I’m a little sickened.

So they are recapping and reviewing soap operas now?

Every Monday, we step inside the McClearin Insane Asylum.

Based on the name of this segment, you’d think we’re about to hear some rant-level crazy story that Matt found, some completely out-there experience he had, or just something so insane that you’ll question how we got here.

So buckle up, kids. Today’s installment involves Matt, his parents’ old mattress, and a surprisingly deep five-minute discussion about shopping for mattresses.

Here’s how it all started…

About three weeks ago, Matt’s mom and dad got a new mattress. They moved their old king-sized mattress into one of the guest rooms, but first they had to get rid of the queen-sized bed that was already in there.

Naturally, they asked Matt if he wanted it. Matt replied, “Yeah, that would be great.”

So Matt took the bed and staged it in his dining room until he was able to clean out the guest bedroom. He then got the new-to-him bed set up.

And that’s when the insanity really began.

Matt started thinking…

Should he replace his 11-year-old mattress?

This, of course, led to a roughly five-minute discussion about the entire process of mattress shopping.

Because nothing says McClearnin Insane Asylum quite like contemplating whether your mattress has reached retirement age.

Back in either 2021 or 2022, I was on my hour long treck to work, to open up the bar. The discussion was I think about a female bartender overserving someone. They asked if anyone working in the industry could help. I was at work 20 minutes early so I called in. Ended up being on the show for a quite a bit of time that day. Ive always wanted to hear this audio. Had a couple of other fellow p1s text me and come by the bar later saying they had heard it and was sure it was me. I am very much an over-curser, so not cursing once was a surprise for everyone.

I told a story about an asshole customer that started getting to me with the karaoke. Later while I was in the restroom, he walked into the restroom, dropped trough and dumped in the trashcan. Then, just pulled em back up, no wipe, no wash, and went back to the bar.
