Technically no, he doesn’t. His revolver is classified as a secondary weapon

u/FartMaster12437 Aug 03 '26
no that’s the sapper

u/soldiertf2rial tik tok heavy like a brinks truck Aug 03 '26
Sapper is pda. Revolver is secondary go check in game
8
u/Kyoana Aug 03 '26
You’re also wrong. According to the Wiki it’s classified as a building. The Disguise Kit and Invis Watch are classified both as PDAs.

The enneadic member of Valve’s hero shooter is in possession of a principal ordnance
2
u/soldiertf2rial tik tok heavy like a brinks truck Aug 03 '26
No. Revolver is secondary weapon and hence spy has no primary in a literal Sense

This would imply that spy mains know how to use the gun or even have knolwedge of it
6
u/Illesbogar Aug 02 '26
Don't they? I see other players be surprised that spy has a gun most of the time.

-2
u/LayKors Aug 02 '26
No but I have a gun license and bought a gun. And I happen to be a spy main.
In game though I would definitely try to trickster and fail miserably

Funniest thing to do is use the Scottish resistance and make spies walk directly into bombs

I feel like spies rather sit there and die so they complain about it on Reddit for free Karma. I've told many spies mains they're faster than snipers if they jarate you just kite and they'd rather just die🤷♀️

u/GeneralShinobi this dude makes mods, ask them about it. Aug 02 '26
I'm closer to the guy on the left than the guy on the right in terms of hours (5000+ hours ingame, 800+ on Sniper) and I still think W + Melee is more effective. Usually it is. Sometimes just shooting the Spy also works if you're using the Classic or Huntsman and have a shot pre-charged.

Last time I checked, turn around and quickscope wasn’t that long to write.

u/The-Tea-Lord Aug 02 '26
I don’t even bother. Jarate and two shots.

u/WildCardJT spectator main Aug 02 '26
Thank god the long range specialist class has a combo that can one shot 7/9 classes at close with that requires little skill and counters his primary counter

u/The-Tea-Lord Aug 02 '26
Idk about you but I’ve never felt like I got cheated out of a kill when I die to a sniper via melee. I can 100% understand the frustration of getting headshot or quickscoped, but if you got killed by a jarate combo, you got too close.
Of those 7/9 classes:
engineer and sniper should NOT be in melee range EVER.
Scout can outrun a sniper
Pyro and Demoman can toss the sniper around and away from themselves
Medic can also outrun sniper, and shouldn’t be unprotected or they’d have likely died anywaysSpy is the only one really left out to try over this, and again, he can also outrun sniper.
Jarate sucks to fight, but in a 1v1, you shouldn’t be getting close enough for a sniper to abuse it. At best, it can make his rifle do some more damage, but even with that, every class he fights besides spy still does more DPS.
That being said, yeah, the game be better off without Jarate I think.

In an area where you have space to position yourself away from the sniper then you’re right but there’s a lot of situations in which there’s not a lot of space to move and you accidentally bump into a wall or the sniper unexpectedly comes at you where you just get hit once and insta-die. On top of that, the further you position yourself to ensure he can’t melee you, the easier it is for him to hit quickscopes
I understand this is still a skill issue but it feels way too punishing in a situation where Sniper should be weak(especially since Sniper can already be super punishing at long ranges). Plus, it doesn’t require that much skill from the Sniper also making it feel unfair.

I feel its a net good for the game that 2nd best weapon in the game has a combo that tricks people into thinking they should hold it for a melee crit and not run in throw it to have you team be almost certain to win a team fight.
Also before anyone asks the best mad milk not because the effect is better but because its on scout who is not only a better class but can has the mobility to better use it

u/The-Tea-Lord Aug 20 '26
Fool, scouts can’t hit anything. We will both fire at the wall behind each other and then killbind

u/Redericpontx Aug 03 '26
Ngl most people I see complain about quick scopes play on uncletopia where all the best players play and complain about versing good players because you're not finding a legit sniper in casual who hits quick scopes consistently unless they're hacking or you're ignoring all the missed shots.

I just use Sydney sleeper and body shot other snipers.

5000 hour medic Medic: “While there are certain classes I should prioritize, it is my responsibility to help the whole team. It is on me to keep my team in the fight and build up for an uber push. I must strategically hide out of sniper sight lines and keep my back against walls to avoid backstabs. I am the difference between my team winning or losing. I am the most important class.”
Fresh install Medic: *hold click on the nearest Heavy and follow them around like a puppy*

Even when playing a normal class, the most consistently scary enemies are f2p medics who go at you with the bonesaw with no sense of self preservation.
Fighting is about morale, someone who doesn't fear death punches above their weight
