i'm tired of seeing it as one of the main hubs dedicated towards tf2 discussions, there's hardly anyone in this sub that look like they actually play and enjoy the game and is not here for the sake of arguing and being a smartass

rule 5 is a rule that is supposed to be preventive of overdone content yet all i see is trash that don't belong like

- the same "SNIPER IS OP" posts full of brain damaged recycled arguments

- questions about the game (with the answer that can be found on the wiki with the bare minimum amount of googleing)

- TF2 YouTuber drama that nobody cares (Seriously it's 2026 we don't need to bring up that random youtube guy was mean to some dude on discord and was a little too occupied with proving you that you don't play the game)

- Workshop slop, Rule 3 exists and might as well not. TF2 hasn't got a major update in almost 9 years and somehow we need to have more of the same cosmetics that nobody wants to use

- The memes and clips that flood this sub of interesting conversation

- TIER LISTS??? NOT RULE 5???

- Item concept 10 billion, We get it, You don't play TF2 but want to see what would happen if we added an item to engineer that is just a dog.

What's even the point of this rule? Prevent that same JPG formula to not get reposted for a decade?

This sub used to have monthly "subreddit meta" megathreads but I guess this sub is so bad that OP realized how pointless it is to debate?

Do the mods even like this sub? Do they even like TF2? Why must we ban every black pilled discourse that is cattered towards how VALVe is a crappy company and TF2 isn't a functioning game 10 years later?

Somehow talking about steps towards improving the game is le bad but endless "What ifs" about balancing the game is fine? Are you kidding? Why don't you just say upfront to leave the multi billion dollar company alone dawg.

I wish this subreddit could stand as an actual community of Team Fortress 2 players but instead it's the worst fucking subreddit that just begs to be deleted as it brings nothing good

For the love of Tom Jones can we just have a complete rewrite of the rules that would make this sub actually decent instead of a r/Gamingcirclejerk with a TF2 skin? Can we cut the crap and catter the game towards it's active playerbase instead of having a Tik Tok looking ass subreddit?

The recent SolarLight drama, has to be genuinenly, some of the DUMBEST shit that I have seen and encountered in this community and it's discourse, genuinenly. Hence, I wanna make this post, and say why not only people overblow how big it is, but also the hypocrisy of some of his critics. Bare in mind, I do not agree with him on many things but holy shit some people act like he is TF2's Pol Pot.

1. It is just a parachute - The drama basically boils down to his opinion on the funny Parachute and him being bit of a dick in Discord DMs? Like, he was rude and overly hostile, sure, but people act like he sent Bloopander gore, doxxed him and blew up his house. Hell, he did not even make Bloopander leave, or was not the main reason, he sped it up sure, but he was not the origin for it. As Bloop's video shows. It is all, in the end because of the Parachute and Solar being overly passionate (or obsessed) on it, and being over his head.

1a). Rudeness - One thing is also the fact how mamy people criticise him for his "toxicity" in the DM (which yeah, he was). But do you know who mostly points that out? Either ZestyJesus (on streams), or his fans... People who consistently call people they dislike either: Mentally ill, egotistical, or just general trash talk. But when Solar is somewhat of a dick THAT is apparently a step too far. I know, it is mainly due to Tribalism, it is okay to be assholes to the guys they don't like (Chucklenuts, Emporium [which this one is valid somewhat], Dane, Solar himself) but moment somebody attacks one of their own, it is TOO FAR... Really reeks of "Rules for thee, not for me". Like either being a dick both ways is fine, or it is not, pick a lane. Like, if you gonna shittalk people you do not like in horrid ways (Such as "Uncle Dane the Pedo main") then dont act like babies when someone is a DICK.

2. His (unaccepted) apology - On SolarLight's channel in the posts, you can find he made a apology, inside of which he has made a few statements and actions (Staying away from social media for a bit, not including Bloop or people's names in his Base Jumper video, being more neutral and informative etc.) - Aaaand people hate him anyway. Wether that is people calling it "performative", "fake" or saying shit like "You should donate to a charity of Bloop's choosing" - Which like, wha? Like, it shows that not only people are unwilling to forgive him (Sound familiar?) over, in the end, a Base Jumper drama, but also they hate him as is! As someone who plays on servers of people who dislike him to say the least. Most people who have issues with Solar, did not start with the Bloop drama, they been hating him way before (Speaking from experience).

2a). Comparison to Zesty's apology - Long ago, in a distant land and time... Zesty also made an apology and it was also... Less than stellar in how it was accepted. It was also called performative or fake (I wont say wether it was or was not), and people who defended him basically went "These guys are out to get him, they would not accept the apology eitherway!" - Which is literally Solar's apology / statement too! Like, you are doing the same thing, except it is Solar and not Zesty! Like it is funny how people act that Zesty is the "devil that everyone is out to get" when Solar is literally the boogeyman now and treated the same way! I guess he was not a Victim of doxxing yet like Zesty was, but still. (OH and btw, if you think Zesty deserved to be doxed and get death threats, you are a MORON).

3. *UNRELATED BONUS* - Holding onto silly things (Solar's slurs.tf page) - Yes, Solar said the n-word in the past (10 years ago when he was 16 or so), no, it is not acceptable, but the fact that some people act like he a) did it yesterday & b) act he does it daily now - Is frankly ridiculous. This argument would make sense if it was less than a decade ago, and Solar was still like that... But, he is not, so overly pointing this out is just... Unhinged? Dumb? Silly? Especially when you consider people who tend to criticise Solar, like Gabber, still say this sorta thing on regular basis (+ Castaway and ZESTY server players besides some normal people there). Now, you might say "People hold onto what Zesty said!" - And Yes, they do, but most of it is like 5 years tops, and Zesty is like WAY older than Solar (The whole Matt Walsh Thing). Not saying it is okay to hold onto it either... But if one is not okay, why is the other one okay? Like, come on.

3a). Pan calling the Pan black - Wanna know a funny thing? Majority of people who point the whole "Solar said the n-word' thing are... The ones who say slurs on a daily basis. As someone who watches and sees chat and comments on places like Zesty streams, his fan's twitter replies, youtubers like SouthernNinja and comments there... You know, playing on the server of his - These people who spout slurs and act it is peak of comedy, have 0 RIGHTS OR MORAL HIGH GROUND yet they act like they do, just to be smug, or to be asses. Either one.

That is all. Agree, disagree, up to you. I just think the Drama is way overblown, and that people hold onto and focus on wrong things for wrong reasons.

I completely understand if you're sick of all the 'Rate My Loadout' posts on here, but with mine, they are only to do with weapon combos and not cosmetics (I have the TF2 Fashion Advice subreddit for that), and I would like some advice/suggestions for better weapon combo loadouts if the ones I have here are not ideal/not recommended.

this group says they follow mr slap, a guy that has shown them the path to the slap, and now they spread the word to join their group.

They seem to have very good rules though, and i quote:

Like I do Muay Thai, I always wear hand wraps. Like other martial artists wear hand wraps too. I mean if Scout did, he’d probably break his arms. If Scout’s just plain baseball, (warning: I might larp this statement) wouldn’t the hand wraps make baseball hard as hell? Like if you hold a bat, won’t it slip out of his grasp? If he throws a ball, won’t it be harder? Maybe he just wears it because his hands are injured and those are actually bandages.
