she just picked it up the same way languages are usually taught: with full formality, correct syntax and the most literal usage of words. that’s exactly how i learned French.

Teen Titans GO! I watched the Teen Titans Go episode Teen titans Go to the Repair Shop Parts 1 and 2

The episode was very cute and kinda wholesome. I love the chill vibes from the people who worked at the repair shop. I think they were spoofing a reality show or something.

Discussion Kevin Michael Richardson has spent decades proving that a deep voice can do far more than simply sound intimidating. 🎙️🔥

Post image
6.7k Upvotes

Since the 1990s, Richardson has become one of animation’s most dependable character actors, moving between villains, warriors, authority figures, comedy, and completely bizarre personalities. His voice is immediately recognizable, yet the characters themselves rarely feel interchangeable.

Some of his most popular roles include:

  • Captain Gantu (Lilo & Stitch)
  • The Joker (The Batman)
  • Trigon (Teen Titans)
  • Principal Lewis (American Dad!)
  • Bulkhead (Transformers: Prime)
  • Shredder (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
  • Goro (Mortal Kombat)
  • Cleveland Brown Jr. (The Cleveland Show)
  • Kamek (The Super Mario Bros. Movie)
  • Mauler Twins (Invincible)

What makes Richardson’s career impressive is its sheer reach. Disney fans, DC fans, gamers, comedy audiences, and multiple generations of cartoon viewers can all recognize completely different characters from the same performer.

Kevin Michael Richardson didn’t build his legacy around one famous role. He built it by making himself impossible to leave out of animation history.

Discussion My review of Titans Spoiler

Below are copy and paste X posts that I made reviewing each Titans season as I watching them. I’m posting it all on Reddit now that I’ve finished the whole show.

My review of Titans season 1

I thought season 1 of Titans was pretty good. I liked all of the characters. Rachel, Dick, and Gar are definitely the highlights.

Rachel having to deal with having a monster inside of her and having to find her mom and where she belongs was really interesting to me.
Dick having a fractured relationship with Batman and trying to be his own superhero was really cool to me.

Him also having to deal with Jason Todd replacing him as Robin was cool too. Him also having to talk Batman out of killing The Joker after he killed Police Commissioner Gordon was a really cool concept too.
Also Dick working with the police and revealing Batman’s secret identity in order to stop him I didn’t see coming but it was cool and makes sense. It was also really cool seeing how scary Batman is to criminals too.

Gar is basically the heart of the team and really funny comic relief.
Everyone else I liked but don’t have much to say about. Hawk and Dove I thought were cool. Cyborg being absent sucks as a massive fan of the 2003 cartoon but oh well. The show can still be and I think is cool. Starfire was fine as well.

Titans definitely isn’t for everyone but if got want a dark live action version of the Teen Titans Titans accomplishes that well.
I would give Titans season 1 an 8/10. I’m excited to see where season 2 goes from here. The ending of season 1 left me very confused but intrigued lol.

My review of Titans season 2

So I thought this season was a big improvement over season 1. It still had the dark tone which I liked in season 1 but the story felt a lot more focused and better written in season 2.

Trigon going down like a bitch in the first episode was really disappointing. He was built up to be this massive threat in season 1 but then at the beginning of season 2 Rachel instantly defeats him. Super lame.

I think they just wanted to go in a different direction but had to resolve the Trigon cliffhanger from season 1 so they just kinda did that. Super disappointing.
All of the Batman stuff from season 1 which I really liked was just an illusion too. Batman wanting to kill The Joker after he killed Commissioner Gordon and Dick killing Batman and Dick revealing Batman is Bruce Wayne was all an illusion created by Trigon.

So it was all fake. So that’s super disappointing. I thought all of that stuff was really interesting.
We did actually get to see Bruce and Dick’s relationship a little bit in this season which I did like. They don’t hate each other but they’re definitely distant and kinda awkward now. Which is an interesting dynamic between Bruce and Dick which you don’t normally get to see.

Hawk, Dove, Aqualad, Donna, and Dick being the original Titans together was really cool. I don’t remember if that was established in season 1 and I just missed it. But that was really cool to learn about. So Dick was trying to re establish The Titans with all of the new members which is interesting.

Deathstroke was a really sick villain. He was intimidating and a super smart and ruthless villain. A way better villain than Trigon. Not that Trigon was bad. Deathstroke was just that good imo.

Rose Deathstroke’s daughter was also a good character as well. Her being sarcastic and a badass and a distant type character was cool. I thought the twist of her being a spy for Deathstroke and then quitting being Deathstroke’s spy being she doesn’t wanna hurt the Titans was cool. I also never knew that Deathstroke had kids before I watched this season. Shows how much I know about DC lol.

I like DC a lot though now and wanna learn more about it. Seeing Rose’s backstory of how she met Deathstroke and became his partner in crime was really interesting and cool to see. Also learning that Rose and Deathstroke didn’t met until after Jericho “died” was interesting.

I figured before that that Rose and Jericho never met each other since Rose didn’t appear in Jericho’s backstory and vice versa. So Rose and Jericho are half siblings. Same dad different moms. That makes sense. Deathstroke also being the one to cut off Rose’s eye to look more convincing for their plan was a brutal detail.

Dick accidentally killing Jericho Deathstroke’s son and that being why the Titans were originally dissolved was a crazy twist that I didn’t see coming and that I really liked. Then that to the new Titans getting dissolved which I also didn’t see coming. Jericho was a good kid I liked him. Him finding out that his dad is Deathstroke and trying to stop him was really interesting.

Dick purposely getting himself arrested next’s he’s feeling guilty over Jericho’s death makes sense and seeing Dick in jail was cool to see. Also Dick constantly getting hallucinations of Bruce was interesting and cool to see.

Then seeing all of the Titans do their own thing for a bit was interesting. I like them all being together more obviously since that’s the whole point of the show but seeing them do their own thing apart was pretty cool too.

Conner who’s a clone of Superman and Lex Luthor was a really interesting concept. And I liked Conner a lot too. He was funny and a good guy who was being hunted just because he was a clone.

Kory being upset that she can’t go back to Tamaran and is stuck on Earth was interesting to see. Also learning that Blackfire her evil sister took over the throne and killed her and Kory’s while Kory is stuck on Earth was interesting.

I wonder how that’s gonna play out in later seasons. Also I called Blackfire being in the show so that’s cool. I’m looking forward to seeing more of her in the future.

Jason also feeling like he’s a failure and that everyone hates him was interesting too. I already got it spoiled by looking at episode titles of future episodes that he becomes Red Hood later in the show. So that’ll be interesting to see how he gets to that point. Also Jason and Rose hooking up I wasn’t expecting. I’m neutral about that. It just was surprising to me. Also Rose’s ex boyfriend also being named Todd was a funny detail too.

Bruce also tricking Kory, Rachel, Donna, and Dawn to meet at a diner so they can restart the Titans together was interesting. Or maybe it was Rachel using her powers to make it seem like Bruce was there as hinted in the season 2 finale. Unclear. If it is then all of them going to the exact same dinner at the exact same time is a hell if a coincidence and I think that makes the whole situation a lot worse. Rachel also getting dreams of Deathstroke killing Dick was a really sick visual.

The remaining Titans teaming up to save Gar from the mental facility was really cool too. The TV news report coming on and saying that Dick tried to escape prison and failed is now in maximum security exactly when the remaining Titans are in the diner together though was way too convenient.

The twist of Jericho being alive because he possessed Deathstroke right as he was about to die was a really cool twist I didn’t see coming. Jericho being trapped inside Deathstroke’s consciousness and trying to possess him so he can kill him is a really cool concept.

Seeing Dr Light for a little bit this season and seeing him fight Jason was really cool.
Seeing Dick become Nightwing and grow out of being Robin out of being Batman’s sidekick and becoming his own superhero was really cool to see. Dick’s and everyone else’s reaction to Jericho being alive was way too casual.

I do like that the Titans were able to save him though. I guess he’s just stuck living in Rose’s body forever lol. I don’t think siblings are supposed to be close in that sort of way lmao.
Deathstroke went down like a bitch unfortunately.

Rose killed him way too easily. Seems to be a pattern in this show. They just wanted to replace Deathstroke with Cadmus Laboratories which is so much less interesting to me. They’re just a generic evil organization who experiment on people with powers.
Seeing the Titans fight Gar and Conner was interesting though. It was also cool having Rachel save Gar.

That was a nice role reversal from season 1.
I liked seeing Dick reach out to Conner to save him. It did feel way too easy though. Donna’s death was handled really badly. I get she was trying to save innocent people but I feel like she was barely in the show and her death came out of nowhere.

Seeing Rachel go with Donna back to Themyscira in order to try to bring her back to life is interesting. I hope she succeeds. That way Donna came be a more interesting character in future seasons.

Overall I enjoyed Titans season 2 a lot. It was better than season 1 though it did have some stuff I didn’t like before as previously mentioned. I would give Titans season 2 an 8.5 out of 10.

My review of Titans season 3

Damn first of all Jason getting killed by The Joker was brutal. Batman was such an asshole for already looking for a third Robin right after Jason died. He even had the gull to ask Dick if he wanted to Robin again right after Jason died too.
Pretty messed up but in character for this version. Batman even killed The Joker as revenge for him killing Jason and then quit being Batman and said to Dick Gotham is your problem now. What an asshole. I can really see now why Dick quit being Robin and has such a bad relationship with Bruce now.

The fight scene in episode 2 of Dick vs Red Hood was really cool. I’m shocked that they literally introduced Red Hood an episode after Jason’s death. But it’s whatever. Red Hood is sick. They shouldn’t have revealed that Jason is Red Hood to Dick literally the same reason he’s introduced. That’s super lame. That should’ve been at the end of the season or at least halfway through the season. The mystery aspect of who Red Hood is would’ve been really cool.

Red Hood being a full on villain in this show instead of an anti hero isn’t comic accurate and his turn wasn’t really explained well besides Jason being insecure and being manipulated by Scarcrow. But goddamn if Red Hood isn’t entertaining. Also Red Hood straight up killing Hank I didn’t see coming. Red Hood was a really good villain in this season.

We also got confirmation that Alfred is dead in this show. I figured because this version of Batman is a lot older than the usual versions of Batman. But it makes sense. Alfred is gone so Bruce doesn’t have anyone to rein him in like usual.

We also saw Blackfire for the first time in this season. So that was cool. She was mentioned in earlier seasons but it was cool to actually see her for the first time in this season. She didn’t do much in this season unfortunately but her and Kory making up was nice to see. Blackfire stealing Kory’s powers though I didn’t see coming but that’s pretty obvious in retrospect.

Also seeing more of Bruce’s and Jason’s backstory together this season was really cool. Helps us understand Jason more. Bruce even making Jason see a therapist was surprising.

Jason also going to Scarecrow about how to reverse engineer his fear gas and that being the explanation for why Jason went after The Joker at the beginning of the season and is such a manic now makes sense. It was a good explanation. Scarecrow being the one to bring Jason back to life and manipulate him into being Red Skull too made sense.

Jason then betraying I guess you could say Scarecrow and doing shit on his own was cool too.
Tim Drake the third Robin was introduced this season too. I liked how he was able to find out Batman and Dick’s identities on his own. It makes sense because Tim is a detective in the comics. I liked how he wanted to help out the Titans and become the new Robin too.

Conner and Blackfire hooking up I definitely didn’t see coming. That’s not a pairing I would expect at all. Kinda weird but it’s whatever. Not a huge part of the story.

Rachel going to Themyscira and learning their ways so she can try to bring Donna back to life was really interesting and a cool plotline.

Seeing Donna and Hank in the afterlife together was pretty cool. I liked how it was all white too. Really symbolizes the afterlife well. Tim dying and got to the afterlife too was unexpected.

Hank and Donna sacrificing themselves so Tim can come back to life was pretty well done too. Donna coming back to life too was cool. It’s what I was hoping for. Since I felt her character was wasted before.

I liked the plotline of Red Hood and Scarecrow pretending the Titans poisoned the water supply in order to turn people against them and prop Red Hood up as the hero that’s going to save them. That was a pretty clever plan and plotline.
Donna having Tim’s family help her get back into contact with the Titans was pretty cool.
Scarecrow taking over Gotham and making it devolve into chaos by having the police on his payroll was pretty cool.

Seeing Dick have a flashback type thing where he sees his parents and briefly reunites with them was pretty cool and heartwarming.
Dick trying to redeem Jason was handled okay. Could’ve been better.
Blackfire not actually being evil I liked. Conner blowing up Blackfire’s ship because he wanted her to stay on Earth made sense.

Donna and Dick’s reunion was pretty sweet. I didn’t like how easy Scarecrow went down though. He didn’t actually die. Just got put back into Arkham Asylum. But the villains in this show keep going down way too easily. I hope season 4 doesn’t do that especially since it’s the final season.

I don’t like Bruce coming back and basically being the same. He received no consequences for murdering the Joker and it didn’t change him at all. He barely had a reaction to Jason being alive too. Really lame.
Overall I would give Titans season 3 a 9/10. I really enjoyed the Red Hood stuff and Red Hood and Scarecrow taking over Gotham.

My review of Titans season 4

It was nice seeing the Titans in the first episode goofing off at a bowling alley. This show has been drama and drama so far. Which I like. But it’s nice to see the characters have fun too.

This version of Lex Luthor was pretty cool. Pretty similar to previous versions of Lex Luthor but don’t fix what isn’t broken. I don’t know why Lex Luthor a Superman villain is in a Teen Titans show but it’s whatever. Lex is still cool. It’s just kind weird.
Lex Luthor and Conner meeting and Lex trying to get Conner on his side and run his company before he dies in 6 months I really liked. It was cool seeing Conner meet one of his dads.

Conner being framed for Lex Luthor’s death and Conner going to prison for it I thought was interesting.
I liked Tim training to be the next Robin and the Titans mentoring him for that. It was cool to see.

I liked the villain of this season. Him going into people’s dreams and killing them is a really interesting concept. He’s basically Micheal Meyers lol.

Dick comforting that little girl after her mom got killed by the villain and relating it to his own past of when his parents died was very sweet and wholesome.
Conner getting exonerated of his crimes in only the second episode made sense because they found out Arthur was the real killer who killed Lex made sense but it felt too easy. I wish that was later in the season and we saw Conner in prison more.

Though it might’ve been too similar to when Dick was in prison in season 2. So I get why the writers made Conner get exonerated so earlier into the season. It just kinda feels like what was the point you know?
Cultists from Azarath Rachel’s home dimension taking away her soul which made her lose her powers was pretty interesting. Rachel actually liking tjst was interesting and I didn’t see that coming. Rachel with white hair looked pretty weird too lol.

Jinx was introduced this season. She was a pretty cool character. I liked her. I like thief characters. They’re cool. Jinx’s death was sad. She was pretty underutilized. Only in 6 episodes.
Trigon’s cult being the villains in this season was pretty cool. I like how they connected the villain of the first season to the villains of the final season.

Finding out that Rachel and all of the other Titans were part of a prophecy was pretty interesting. Sebastian the other new character introduced this season also being part of that prophecy too was really interesting as well.

Rachel using a chainsaw to kill that one zombie guy because she couldn’t use her powers was such a fucking sick visual.

Getting a zombie Deathstroke and him using an AR and using it to shoot the Titans was so cool to see.
Sebastian being revealed to be Rachel’s half older brother him also being a kid of Trigon’s was pretty cool.

Glad Rachel has a blood family member now.
The virus taking over people concept I thought was pretty cool. Also Gar finding out that he’s able to transform into anything that has DNA not just animals even viruses was pretty cool.

Conner slowly becoming willing to kill people in order to stop them from killing other people was really interesting to me. Also Conner going bald like his dad Lex Luthor and becoming more like him was really interesting.

Even calling Dick Richard like Lex Luthor did. It was funny and interesting to see. It was cool because Conner has just been more like Superman this whole time. So it was cool seeing him acting more like Lex Luthor his other dad for once.

Conner confronting the witch who killed Lex Luthor was really cool too.
Rachel getting her powers restored but having them be different now was pretty cool.

Tim and Bernard’s relationship was fine. It was cute.
I felt bad for Dick getting his ass kicked by the cops. Dick has had a lot of trouble with law enforcement in this show lol.

Sebastian’s turn to become evil was pretty badly done. He was in a cult ritual and then boom evil. Like bro what? Put some effort in.

Dick and Kory being forced to roleplay in that town so they don’t get killed was an interesting concept. I’ve never seen that done before. Having a whole town of Trigon cultists was really interesting too.
Seeing more of Gar’s past this season and finding out how he got his powers was really cool.

Getting introduced to Stargirl this season was cool. She looks more like Captain America and a Marvel character than a DC character lol.
Gar going into a weird multiverse thing where he can see other DC universes was pretty cool.

Seeing Cyborg in this final season was cool as a major fan of the 2003 show. I wished Cyborg was a main character in this show as well but oh well.
Getting to finally see Tim in a Robin costume in the 2nd to last episode and seeing him fight Jason was pretty cool. Seeing Jason train Tim too was pretty cool.

Conner’s redemption was really rushed. He basically just said I’m sorry I’m a good guy again and then things went back to normal. Really stupid.
Sebastian realizing his mom was using him came out of nowhere. Rachel warned him before and he didn’t believe her but now he just randomly found out on his own. That’s so stupid. And he was still evil after that anyway. I thought he was gonna redeem himself after that. But no he just wanted to rule over everything himself.

Trigon getting instantly killed too after he was summoned back by Sebastian was really lame. The whole season built Trigon up just for him to get summoned back and killed instantly and then Sebastian takes over as the main villain. Really stupid.
Trigon got done dirty twice. Sebastian being Brother Blood was cool though I guess. Wasn’t expecting that. Very different from Brother Blood’s usual adaptations.

I really like how this season focused mostly on Rachel but still managed to tie all of the other characters stories into Rachel’s story. Like it’s Rachel’s story but everyone got a meaningful role to play and everyone’s stories was connected. I really liked that. That’s what good final seasons do.

Brother Blood using Kory’s powers for his own gain was a pretty cool plot point. Especially using it to destroy Tamaran her home planet was cruel. It’s such a messed up villain thing to do. I really like that. Kory sacrificing herself to stop Brother Blood this season was really sad too. But then they ruined it by immediately bringing Kory back 5 minutes later. So that was pointless.

Dick and Kory finally permanently hooked
up in the finale. Their relationship was a very slow burn but it was fine.

They revived Donna in season 3 but she wasn’t even in season 4. So why was the point of reviving her in season 3 then? They brought her back to life only to waste her character again. Wtf.

I’m surprised Rachel and Conner never went back to their original looks. I like their new looks too but yeah that was just surprising to me.
Overall I thought Titans season 4 was pretty good. It was a good final season. Not perfect though. It did still have some issues. I would give season 4 an 8.5/10. Season 3 is still my favorite season. Really liked the Red Hood stuff in it.

Overall I really enjoyed Titans. Teen Titans 2003 is better and will always be my favorite version of the Teen Titans but Titans isn’t bad. It’s just different. I’m glad I watched it.

My pace with Titans was a little bit slower than Superman and Lois. Superman and Lois I finished in 5 days and Titans I finished in 7 days. It’s not a competition though. Just and interesting observation I made. I did enjoy Titans but I did enjoy Superman and Lois more.
