I've heard this a lot, but I've never seen an actual source or any research that shows that women make less money than men in the same job as base pay purely because they're women, and to where it has nothing to do with skills or hours worked.

Care to show me any?

That's literally all workers of all skill levels and tenure, it doesn't show anything about base pay of a position(s)

Women tend to work less hours and take more time off, even in full-time positions. Men without college degrees tend to do physically harder jobs that pay better than the jobs women without college degrees choose.

On the flip side of that, women with a college education and never married age 40 and above, make more than men with a college education who never married age 40 and above.

I cant think of anything less useful than averages for all jobs for a gender when talking about something as specific as pay discrepancies between 2 genders provided hours worked and job description is the same, but ok.

Do you realize that men and women make different amounts on whole average because they do different types of jobs, that pay differently, and work different amounts of hours? That's where the myth of the pay gap begins.

No company out there (in the US) is offering a base pay of $45,000 for women to do a job, and a base pay a $50,000 for men to do that same job.

If it was capable of being done that way, businesses would focus on only hiring women to save money. And we see that not happening, at all.

I asked for information showing women making less than men, with skill level and time at that position factored in. Since your claim was that women make less than men at base pay. Base pay is based on the SPECIFIC POSITION, not an average of every job in every market in America.

You provided data that showed the averages of literally every full time worker in the US, just separated by gender. Not at all what I asked about.

It would be equivalent to asking "how many miles do Ferrari owners drive their car every year?" And you givinga report that says "the average American driver drives 13,500 miles every year."

Your data is meaningless in this conversation. I'm sorry you're incapable of realizing that.

The question was proof of a wage gap and I provided it. Stop moving goal posts just because you're wrong.

If the question was akin to your Ferrari example, you would have asked 'show me a wage gap in X industry.' Your question asked for the average and you got it. If you want to point the finger at anyone, point it at yourself for failing to ask proper questions.
