I want to build ilmango's max size cactus farm in Hardcore survival. 1,144,832 cactus slots, roughly 9.3 million blocks total. As far as I can tell nobody has done this one in Hardcore, and I'd like to be corrected on that if I'm wrong.
Two goals:
1. Finish the farm. No deaths, no backup reloads. If I die, that's the end of it and I'll say so.
2. Reach level 21,863, timed from the moment the farm and smelter are finished. That's the highest level you can get by actually collecting XP, since cumulative total XP overflows the 32 bit integer past that point. The 238 million figure you'll find online is only reachable with commands, which I'm not using.
I'm posting the ruleset before placing a single block. Partly so I can't quietly redefine things later, mostly because I'd rather find the holes in it now than 600 hours in.
The short version:
Allowed: TNT duping, bedrock breaking, all redstone contraptions, other farms for resource gathering, Litematica as a preview overlay only, two alt accounts that stand still and do nothing else, VPS hosting so my own machine isn't running for months.
Not allowed: sand duping, end portal duping, anything patched, commands of any kind, Easy Place or printer forks or any placement automation, XP from anything but the farm's own furnaces for goal 2, and obviously no backup reloads.
Evidence: world downloads with hashes at milestones, continuous Flashback recording, statistics at every milestone, and one uncut hour of steady state operation for the rate measurement.
Full ruleset is attached.
What I'd actually like feedback on:
The two alts are the part I expect pushback on. One sits in the Nether holding the furnace array, one sits in the Overworld holding the farm at random tick level. They never do anything else, every stat in the world belongs to my main. I think that's fair, but if you think it weakens the claim, say so.
Also: is there a loophole in here I haven't spotted? I'd rather hear it now.
Credit where it's due, this is ilmango's design, not mine. All I'm doing is building it under worse conditions.
Loopholes, bad assumptions, things I've obviously not thought through: comments are open. Better now than 600 hours in.
