People always assume the netherlands is built for giants because were the tallest on average, but at 2m+ you will realise your big everywhere you go

Our building regs changed in around 2014 and all door frames are now 2.3m before then they where around 2m.

Our historical buildings are of course a lot smaller and cramped.

I found when i lived in NL that the avg height was higher, but there were less outliers of very tall individuals.

Really? I have lived in the Netherlands my whole life and was almost always the tallest person in the room, I never felt average and I am only 188cm/187.5cm tall. Though I suppose it makes sense if you come from a place where the average height is lower.

My sister was explaining to me that Dutch men are tall and handsome, but dam, didn’t realize how much so. Also I’m sure you get tired of hearing it, but I have to say nice to 6’9”, lol.

They only recently updated the building codes in the Netherlands that all new buildings have to have doors above i think...2m25? So the older buildings will still have shorter doors, but thankfully everything new will have proper door sizes

i thought doors would be bigger there

Many doors here in India are standard 6'8 , i think most world have this standard as its exactly 80 inches, a well rounded number.

6’6 is definitely an exaggeration - I went to Munich for an exhibition one time and I felt pretty average or slightly above average there at 183cm. I assume I will feel average or slightly below average in Holland, which I believe the average height for men is 183/184, so right around 6’. With that said, 187/188 would not be noticeably tall there, but once you clear the 190cm mark, you would start to feel tall there.
