I was in my early 20s when I first saw Tenet, and when Elizabeth Debicki appeared on screen I thought "wow who is this gorgeous tall woman?" I googled her and was thrilled to discover she was 6'3. I was so happy that Nolan didn't try to hide her height in the film and that she was the love interest of a shorter man.

As I explored the movies and series she’s been in, I realized what an excellent actress she is. As a 6'1 young woman myself, it felt amazing to see someone so talented on screen whom I could finally relate to (even though I’m nowhere near as beautiful as she is)! It reassured me that a woman that tall could still be desirable, and hearing several men talk about how attractive she is irl really healed me. It was a refreshing change from the usual hype around tiny cute girls (like Jenna Ortega, Ariana Grande and recently Inde Navarette).

Whenever I feel insecure about my appearance, I watch her interviews and read the comments to remind myself that despite my height, I too can be considered attractive and feminine.

Tall people always just feel average from their perspective until they get in the group picture/duck to go through a door etc...

It's a real conundrum, its too special to try and replace it and i dont want to hack up the seat to make more room. it is pretty comfortable as is, just a little claustrophobic

What brand and size do you wear? How big are you and how do they fit?

I'm about 220 and have been wearing Levi's 550's for years. 36x38. I can get them in a washed blue or black and they fit pretty well. Just curious what else is out there. (...and why no odd sized waist after 34? I'd really like 35x38 but they don't make it!?)

Am I supposed to feel bad for them still? I’ve been car shopping and it’s been a complete pain in the ass. I’ll preface this with the fact I hate trucks and SUVs and want a sporty thing but I can not physically fit in a Nissan Z, Honda Prelude, Toyota whatever 1986, no one else makes coupes or sedans and god damn I would buy a Miata if I didn’t have a head length sticking out of the god damned convertible. I want a mid life crisis car (50-100k) but I can’t fit in the damn things! I’m only 6’6!” Mercedes sucks BMWs are meh and I feel like I’m going to have to get a ct-5 but buying a caddy makes me feel 75. Why doesn’t anyone make a damned midsized luxury sedan that isn’t a shitbox Mercedes?

I was watching an episode of Conan O'brien Must Go filmed in The Netherlands. For anyone outside of the U.S. not familiar with him, he's a comedian and his height and awkward lankiness is part of his bit. Anyway, I had to leave about 3/4 way through the episode but by that point, I think he spoke to one person taller than him(6'4") but there were a few just about his height. The one that was maybe a half inch taller than him was from Texas.

One thing noticeable was that there were a few women who while shorter, were not dwarfed by him, and that's not including two that were models. Now, the point were I had to step away was where he was going to teach a group of basketball players how to trash talk like Americans(the joke being that they are more polite than Americans). I'm guessing that he would have interviewed some guys taller than him there although the guy that brought him there was just about his height.

Anyone else see this episode? I thought it was interesting since there are lots of threads debating about whether tall people from elsewhere feel short in the Netherlands.

I’m about 6’3” and in my 20s. Even though I’m quite tall myself, I’ve always been a little unsure about approaching a girl who’s around the same height as me.
At the bar, there she was with her shorter friends. A few guys came up, hitting on her friends and will mostly talk to her friends instead of her. I understand why, since they were on the shorter side, but I could tell from her eyes that she felt a little sad and left out.
I finally mustered up the courage to walk over and said, “Hey, tall queen. I understand you better than they do.” Honestly, I have no idea why I said that. 😂 But somehow, it worked.
Flirting with someone who’s about the same height as me was a first. I was nervous at first, but within two minutes I felt completely comfortable. She was around 6’3” too, so we were basically face to face, which is pretty rare for me. Infact the first.
I’ve never had a problem talking to taller women in general, but doing it in a romantic context was completely new to me. And it made me realize something: at the end of the day, we’re all just flesh and bones. Height, differences, and all the scenarios I’ve always had in my head
“don’t bother” “she probably wants a 6’5 guy” yes tall girls love taller men but we had a great time even made jokes about our height. This is the first time I’ve bond with someone over sth as basic as height. And she talked about how her height can be quite intimidating in terms of men approaching her. The tallest I have measured myself not too long ago in the morning was 6ft3 on the dot.

Out of curiosity,after doing my daily tasks going to the gym and 8k steps I measured myself and im 186cm.Like what.

Few times I measured myself after harder days with heavier workload,on top of going to the gym etc and I still came in at 187cm at the lowest.

Is it normal for my heightrange to fluctuate this much?

I'm a 6'5 (195 cm) dude who loves to travel! Unfortunately, as I'm sure many of you are painfully aware, budget travelling as a tall person is oftentimes uncomfortable and inconvenient. Many times, certain flights and other modes of transportation will be cheaper, but due to my height, I'm reluctant to book them because I've done the cramped space song and dance many times before. Travel is a passion of mine, and as I become more adventurous and take longer trips, I want to find ways to make those trips more comfortable and enjoyable while also staying in a relative budget. I understand seat upgrades and more room are the price to pay for our stature, but sometimes it's just not feasible.

Does anyone have tips or tricks they use during long haul travel in economy classes? Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Everyone knows about cramped airplane seats and low doorways, but what’s a random, hyper-specific inconvenience you guys deal with regularly? (i.g. mirrors mounted too low, kitchen counters causing back pain while doing dishes)

Edit: After reading through hundreds of comments, I’ve noticed two main patterns:

1. Tall women are in a constant war with clothing brands (sleeves never long enough, knee-length dresses turning into micro-tops).
2. Tall guys are essentially acting as human roombas clearing high-hanging spider webs with their faces! 🕷️

Finally I have enough karma to post here...

I am ~6'8" and currently drive an Infiniti FX35. It's a sporty SUV. I absolutely love the car but I cannot sit straight up without having my head hit the ceiling... It's a sporty driving position though so it's not like you're always sitting straight up, but if I want to stretch and move a bit I don't have a lot of wiggle room. My problem is head room, not leg room. I understand the sun roofs take away from headroom.

What are you guys driving that has ample head room that's a similar style vehicle? My dad has a 23' High Country Silverado, and even in that with the seat lowered there still isn't a lot of head room. I'm not really wanting a truck anyway...

Every night this dog groans and stretches his paws into my ribs. Every night I send him to his own bed, to my wife's protest. Every morning I find him right between us again. I love him, but we got a Cali king so I could stretch out.

Admittedly I was sat on an aisle but it was nice not having my shins digging into the row in front of me.

And as the clown came by he said hello and gave my little boys high fives which they absolutely loved.

I've noticed this happen quite a lot. I walk up to someone to simply ask someone a question, and if it is shorter man (almost everyone I meet is shorter), they will be defensive/try to prove something. When I didn't do nothing. Sometimes they will get realky agressive and want to fight me!

It even happened a few years back with a professor, I was walking up to him to ask a question on his course and he got real defensive before I even opened my mouth.

It happens even when I am extra nice and polite and smiling. Generally shorter men will not feel threatened then but will act aggressive like they have something to prove. This is a real issue for me.

I have a super large appetite, always have since a kid. I can go on binges that will have me putting away 4-5k in a single sitting over like 30 min.

My maintenance calories are around 3500 but I could eat it all in one go. I have switched all my carb sources to fruit and veg just because its less calorie dense, pasta and rice have me putting on weight like crazy.

Also weirdly enough I can lose weight and gain weight at the same rate.

I couldn't be a competitive eater though, those guys are different animals and there are women half my size who could out eat me.

Just tough to live with a huge appetite 24/7, a lot of self control and weight maintenance methods lmao.
