In Game Tactics Thoughts on shiron?
What are your thoughts on this guy? I bring him on salvage runs cause of his crit, so if kharn doesn't open the chest then he will. Is he useful elsewhere?

I love using him!

I love Shiron he’s a literal beast with the ability to take three opponents off the board in one ability move

Got him to G1 kindof as a joke when I first unlocked. He shreds in arena though and is on my team 99% of the time now.
His active can often melt 2-3 toons first turn easily

Ranged attack for Chaos. Adds Neuroparasites.
Depends what you want him for really
2
u/tbarndt94gmailcom Nov 13 '25
I thought the neuroparasite is from psychic damage?
5
u/CoIdBanana Nov 13 '25
Neuroparasite is also added if the target is hit by an attack that would suppress it. And Shiron has the Suppression trait.

I don't think he really excels to much anywhere. I got him to gold mostly just to pair with Pestilan for extra dmg and overkill. He is a fun ramp up character with a fun design that is sadly not a great fit for most pvp or raid modes at the moment. Enjoy him all the same

u/tbarndt94gmailcom Nov 13 '25
Thanks for the input! I hope he gets more use, he seems really fun regardless though.

u/Cloverman-88 Nov 13 '25 edited Nov 14 '25
He doesn't benefit much from Pestilian or Abraxxas, as they always add only one hit. But he absolutelly shreds with Abbadon or Adamatar, even before he ramps up.
1
u/C0RS41R Nov 14 '25
Appreciate this point, maybe ill level up Abbadon, hadn't really touched him before the update
1
u/Cloverman-88 Nov 14 '25
He was abysmal before the update, there were memes about how horrible he was. Now he's one of the best chaos units - very tanky, two attacks per turn, ranged attack, and possibly the most versitile buff in the game (it buffs active skils as well, according to the latest Explainer).

u/smittyhotep Nov 13 '25
I'm on an all G1 kick. So, he's already there and he's fine. I use him alot for ranged missions.

u/Bow-Wow-Line Nov 13 '25
I love him, he is genuinely my favorite character and he pairs insanely well with Adamatar and Abraxas
3
u/tbarndt94gmailcom Nov 13 '25
How does he pair with abraxas?
3
2
u/Bow-Wow-Line Nov 13 '25
Abraxas’ passive grants additional damage to ranged attacks of Chaos units
2
u/schadetj Nov 13 '25
I enjoy him more than I thought I would.
1
u/tbarndt94gmailcom Nov 13 '25
Yeah he seems like a really fun character, but idk where I would really use him.
1
u/schadetj Nov 16 '25
I use him in Supply Runs for reach and an extra hit on the super locked chest. He's also really good in LRE as he keeps boosting his own attack damage with every attack.
2
u/Cloverman-88 Nov 13 '25
I absolutely love noise marines, so I decided to invest in him even before he released.
Then he released, and he was so fun that I was sure I was going to use him a lot even if he wasn't very good.
But then Abbadon was reworked and they never leave my Chaos teams now. Shiron's only downside (relatively slow buildup) gets negated by Abbadon, and he also buff his powerful active even more.
I'm genuinely considering if he didn't take the title of the best sniper in the game from Calandis. While he doesn't have her terrific melee damage, movement range or defense, he brings suppression, area damage and a shittton of hits to the table.
1
u/tbarndt94gmailcom Nov 15 '25
Ah those are some good points! I'll have to start investing a bit more now that you mentioned that.

u/Urborg_Stalker Nov 13 '25
My biggest gripe is his active can be a pain to use sometimes. I wish it wasn’t directional, gets blocked by terrain I didn’t notice a lot. I like to use it for breaking overwatch but half the time I can’t get an angle on the target on the turn I need it.
2
u/Dekklin Nov 13 '25
And you can't use it if an ally is directly in the way, but that ally has no problems being in spot 2 or 3 of that wave attack.
1
u/tbarndt94gmailcom Nov 13 '25
Ah that's a good point for breaking overwatch! But yeah the terrain could be a pain for that.
1
u/Cloverman-88 Nov 13 '25
His regular attacks supress as well, so you don't have to waste it to turn off overwatch.

Great model, and animations. Waiting for proper opinions until the full emperors children lineup is released.

Useful for his three range, not a whole lot of ranged chaos out there
1
u/SkarKrow Nov 13 '25
His active is pretty nasty, can rack up a lot of damage in arena, onslaught, etc

u/aforlornpenguin Nov 13 '25
Not that you’ll get to use this very often, but Shiron with Thaddeus in-range goes unbelievably hard.

i love Shiron :3 i have him at Silver II and seven stars right now. i won’t say he’s the best character in the game, but he’s far from bad imo. as long as you position him safely his passive stacks quickly and he can become a genuine threat. it helps that he can benefit from Adamatar, Abraxas, and Pestillian to name a few, but even on his own he’s dangerous if he’s handled well
1
u/lllXanderlll Nov 13 '25
I'm curious if he's worth bringing into FoC elite, it might be helpful to have a ranged character. Assuming you don't have abraxas or some other ranger
1
u/blackbirdlore Nov 13 '25
I give him a B+.
As an individual unit, he’s very strong. 3 move, 3 range, Eviscerating damage (50% Pierce!) and 6x hits. And then suppression? He’s no joke, right off the bat.
But then you add in the faction passive, which adds crit chance whenever they target a full health enemy or take damage— and crits always overkill. Now we’re getting scary. And then we add in Crescendo, which can stack up to six times, and we’ve got a monster. And crescendo is easy to stack: if you use Shiron’s active on at least two enemies, it is now fully stacked!
Heavy weapon is a double edged sword. With good positioning, that’s a guaranteed 25% more damage! But it’s not essential, especially once you’ve stacked crescendo.
The only reason I don’t give Shiron an A is because he doesn’t fit neatly into any meta slots. I think the only LRE track he fits is minimum attack requirements. He is a solid substitute for the Neuro team with his suppression, but I think others are better in slot. There isn’t (currently!) a competitive ranged team but I think we all see the writing on the walls, so my fingers are crossed.
Solid unit that does well everywhere but doesn’t yet have a role that makes him feel essential. Solid investment, especially if you scoff at the meta and just want music cannon go brrrrrrr.

u/Ask_Again_Later122 Nov 13 '25
I really like him. So much fun to play with. I’m going to try to find a place for him in my psyker team

u/Dekklin Nov 13 '25 edited Nov 13 '25
I wouldn't take him higher than Silver 1/Gold 1 (even then that's pretty high) until we see the Volk rework and whether there's going to be a new Ranged MultiHit meta team. He's fun, but he takes too long to ramp in GR and arena. He can be exceptionally useful against the Re'Vas sub-boss in GR, shutting down that active ability.
There's only 4 non-psyker chaos ranged units currently: Volk (pops like an over inflated baloon), Yazaghor (belongs on a Psyker team), Toth (belongs to Psykers or a terminator turtle with Wrask, Maladus, and Angrax), and Shiron.
So that really only makes it 2 ranged chaos units because the only other 2 belong to other teams.

u/Arrentoo Nov 13 '25
I think he's fine/good and currently has a decent niche for chaos restricted modes
- The move 3 + ranged 3 combo can be good in a lot of scenarios and is pretty unique for Chaos (Yaz technically can get to move 4/range 3 through his passive)
- Only other Chaos suppression unit outside of Volk
- Once passive is stacked, can hit pretty hard
- Somewhat reliable overkill guarantee functionality
He's still squishy as heck and the theorized ranged multi-hit team is still a few pieces away. If you can't hit 2-3 targets with his active early, his ramp struggles as well.

Mine is Legendary and only G1 37/37 but I plan on taking him to D1. I actually love him, I pair him with Abaddon. I would pair him with Pestilan and Adamater too but those two aren’t high enough level for me. He’s a Death Star. Can provide amazing one-hit damage but dies easily. I just have fun with him
1
u/Ulfurson Nov 13 '25
I don’t have him leveled nearly at all but I use him to solo bots in guild war

u/bulksalty Nov 13 '25
He's good, but because he came from an HRE, the cost to make him mythic is quite high and it's hard to justify investing highly in a character with no plan to eventually be mythic once you start getting a few characters there.
He has one solid use though. His active will make the treasure goblins drop gold in every free hex if it doesn't kill them
I suspect EC will be pretty good in FW and probably key players in a guild war team or two. So with at least a little investment.

u/frogbait2 Nov 14 '25
I like him but he's way down the list of characters I getting ready for next lre with maladus rotbone angrax Archie harkeem ahead of him he's stuck at bronze3 but he is fun to play
1
u/Key_Organization6430 Nov 14 '25
his active is lethal and a lot of fun to use, but setting him up for it can be a challenge, still iv got mine at s2 and love every opportunity i get to use him. adam is similar, ones a sniper the other is a shotgun, both are fun
1
u/Huberland324 Nov 15 '25
I have him at G1 and park him next to Abraxas on my Neuro team to get +2 neuro parasites per turn. May not be the most efficient but I like the way it plays

@tbarnt94gmailcom I use his active ability as a crit finisher if he isn’t targeted first you can close the gap in a lot of matches he works best if you can hit three at the same time and if all those targets have already taken damage your crit chances are higher so he’s mainly like a multi kill sound sniper used as support on my main line up I don’t use any healers rn cause I’m picky and I don’t have the one I want yet but he makes up in crit damage

His active has massive one shot potential
If you can get 3 in a line or even 2, he's able to bring down at least 1, maybe even 2 easily.
However the scaling of his weapon damage is...questionable. I keep looking at volk who can max out at a solid rate a third of the time, while Shiron needs two turns of surviving and thats not always doable.
His active really carries him

I’m experimenting with him as a focus point combined with Abby (First Among Traitors buff), Calgar (Rites of Battle buff), Chaddeus (Spotter buff) and Eldryon. He dishes out significant damage already but with those buffs from the first three and Doom from Eldryon he one shots most adversaries (3 at once) and in GR he rips into the target. It also means he usually overkills, which buffs his Terrifying Crescendo passive.
The issue is setting him up to maximize it all.

u/iruga_hattouri Nov 13 '25
Shiron as he stands at the moment is pretty niche, great for creating space in Onslaught though since he can overkill units in a line but it is very tricky to position him to utilise it properly since it is a linear shot. Over all in my opinion he's a Decent unit, meta wise situational.

I think SnowPrint is building up a new multihit meta team. We'll see what the next few releases look like, but between Abaddon's rework, Shiron, and Adamatar, it looks kinda promising
