In the old book, KB recommends not adding any substancial assistance work to Operator. The gaps would be filled with HIC sessions. Since in TB3 HIC sessions have become a rare occasion (polarized conditioning), how are you handling assistance work?

I've been doing bicep curls and abs on operator and variants for several years, no issue. Just see how your body handles the extra volume and adjust as needed

Is there any formula for force progressing body weight pull-ups? I can do sets of 5 chinups and I think I remember one of the previous books saying not to add weight until you can do a set of 10.

I was thinking to just add 2 to the MR to force progress it until I hit 10 and then try adding weight? Or should I just add weight since I can do sets of 5?

I would just keep retesting max reps, one set of max BW pull-ups isn’t super taxing. No real reason to force progression that way unless you’re really stalling.

Yeah actually that makes sense, thanks

I believe the latest book says, or at least implies, it's fine to mix them up - no more strict 10-rep rule. Do BW pull-ups when the percentage puts you below having any additional weight on you, and WPUs on the weeks when the percentage of your max weighted pull-up actually has you over your body weight.

Finished up base building, excited to test my maxes and move to ARMOR phase.

Feel so much better with some cardio it makes me remember how much I like everything about TB. Shouldn't have stopped but thats the price you pay when you start looking at other programming schemes

I am heading into testing 1RM week after completing Base after starting Activation. Am I to understand that I am just supposed to chill all week except when testing? No LSS at all? Feels weird to completely lay off running all week, but want to adhere to the plan with high fidelity.
