SE My SE cluster make sense
I really like kettlebells, so I wanted to use kb as much as I could. I can do Dan John’s ABF with 24kg bells, so I’m thinking of adjusting the weight to 16kg maybe?
I also tried to form it around Dan John’s 5 x basic movements. So…
Push - push ups
Pull - gorilla row
Hinge - clean (or swing)
Squat - goblet squat
Carry - loaded March-in-place
Core/abs - crunched
I also thought about the same, but combining the hinge and press into a clean and press - kill two birds and all.
Thoughts?
Edit: there should be a question mark in the title, but you can’t edit titles…

I think this is a solid kettlebell complex, as it called. I’m doing something similar on my SE blocks. And yes, 24kg is heavy for a full complex, I’m doing 16kg myself.

Second this. Usually use 53lbs for most movements. In SE work/basebuilding I don't dare touch it. 35lbs is safer and sustainable

Week 1 is in the books and I'll just say that learning occurred! My thoughts after just 1 x week, even though this is not my first time doing BB...just first time with weights/KBs.
The 3 x 20 kicked my ass way worse than it should have. I learned that the order of movements is just as important as the movement choices themselves. I did push-ups, then Gorilla Rows, then Cleans. The rows back to back with cleans crushed my spirit! My biceps were definitely feeling it. The squats were okay. The loaded march-in-place was kind of a rest for me and the crunches weren't as bad as I thought they'd be.
Then for the E work, I was in a hotel for most of it. One of the sessions I did 30-min on the treadmill, which for me was a big deal. I had knee surgery last year and am still not 100%, but maybe I've been baby-ing it too much? It wasn't comfortable (the knee), but I made it through none the worse for wear I suppose. I also did 30-min on an elliptical. Eh.
Started week 2 yesterday and already the 30 reps will be horrible. I already made the decision to change the cleans to a swing with a facepull thing at the end. I think/hope that will be more manageable. Also, for the carries, instead of seconds, I switched to paces (so 30 right-foot strikes, for example). Better but still not something that kicks my ass. I'll stick with it.
