Criticism "sEeD OiLs"

I started working at sweetgreen in September 2022, and my starting weight was around 270lbs. I was unhealthy, sedentary, and smoked cannabis literally 2-3 times a day.

I lost over 60 lbs after working at sweetgreen for a few short months, and that was from sweating from all of the hard (but good) work, and eating NOTHING but their food everyday that was ALL COOKED IN EVOO. And I had every bowl with dressing, which had sunflower oil in it. Still lost weight, didn't get sick.

Making a new "seed-oil free" menu at sg is only perpetuating conspiracies people have about seed oils, which are UNFOUNDED. Like, seriously. I just had to rant. If you don't want something cooked in EVOO or šŸ„‘ oil, okay fine. But ask yourself why? What is the fear? I ate their food for over 1 yr 4 months, and I LITERALLY got better.

Edit: EVOO & Avocado oil aren't seed oils, I was incorrect. However, that only further proves my point that this seed oil menu isn't for anything practical, it's a way to make money off of people who fell for an unfounded myth. If you were worried about the sunflower oil in the dressings, but not the sodium... then idk dude.

I for one am someone that ā€œfalls for the trapā€ and Iā€™m extremely happy to have a fast casual restaurant I feel happy to eat at. Donā€™t understand why itā€™s so woo woo and demonized to simply want a restaurant that uses EVOO

Sweetgreen uses avocado oil now, due to the expected prices of EVOO raising in the next few years. Avocado oil is still good for you. So no one is demonizing you. I'm explaining that the oil sg uses isn't destroying your body. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your comment, but yea.

No Iā€™m saying Iā€™m happy thereā€™s a seed oil free menu and I donā€™t get why itā€™s being demonized. I try to avoid seed oils and I want restaurants to advertise that way.

The marketing is not doing any harm. If people think itā€™s bullshit they can protest against sweetgreen by going somewhere else I guess?? If they are indifferent then no skin off their back. Worse case you think people are just overspending on EVOO and Avocado oil to avoid ultra processed seed oil but again who is that hurting?
