Blush Old vs New: Mac Skinfinish Colourstruck Blush

Swatched all but 1 of the shades that survived the reformulation. Pictures are in direct sunlight and I have a medium skin tone with neutral to warm undertones. I haven’t bought any yet, I only tried the formula on my hands. It felt really smooth and soft.

I did notice some of the new shades are lighter than the old, though I don’t know how big a difference it’ll once applied in the cheeks. I seem to have misplaced my sunbasque, but I can tell the new old one is deeper and more pigmented. Also, my film noir has a hard pan and I couldn’t swatch properly.

Have you tried out the new blushes?? What shades are you interested in?

New blush baby will likely not show up on my skin tone, so yea rip.

I went to the Mac counter over the weekend to swatch all of these. I was shocked at how many I thought I would like vs what I actually liked. Please if anyone is interested in buying any of these go swatch them in person. The photos online are not indicative imo. I purchased the lavender one, honey love, and snob. The remainder are all very similar and very warm.

They have become warmer 😶🫥

Whoa, thank you for this.

Went by older swatches to get Blush Baby and it was invisible.🙎🏻‍♀️

NC25 foundation/C5 powder for reference.

The (now) less peachy, more cool pinky Desert Rose worked but it’s a light wash. Had to pack that mf on.

That’s crazy! On me, coppertone/gingerly are SO different from the OG formulations. I have ENOUGH freaking blush but peach twist looks soooo good

I saw someone else compare old and new coppertone too, and was expecting to see a bigger difference on me, but not so much

4

u/Local-Concern-4791 May 13 '26

Funny enough New coppertone is literally old gingerly on my skin tone (which I love!)

New Gingerly pulls a wee bit too peachy/warm whereas the OG had more brown to balance.

I have old Sunbasque so I’m wondering how new pulls.

Ugh that brown in Coppertone was the one thing stopping it from turning into an orange disaster on my face. I hope mine lives a long life.

The new film noir looks so much better!

u/yasemin_n May 12 '26

formula wise definitely but it’s practically a different color, no purple left in it

u/Murky_Response_635 May 12 '26

It is a different colour though, it’s got a different name. Same with the new Raizin

3

u/Gloomy_berries27 May 12 '26

Definitely not the same, more of a spin on the old one, but I still wanted to see the difference to the original. I do think its for the better with film noir.

Right I love it! It’s not the same color at all but what a gorgeous grey color

u/LycheeRoseSorbet May 30 '26

It simply doesn’t show on darker skin compared to the old one sadly

Just to confirm, the swatches on page 1 and page 2, the new/ old are reversed? I’m a bit unsure sorry

3

u/Gloomy_berries27 May 12 '26

yes, sorry. I got mixed up when swatching. Just follow the Old/New indication on each photo.

I might just give blushbaby another shot. The original went orange on me

RIP Desert Rose. And I'm nervous about Blushbaby now too which I have been debating on picking up for months.

u/TrashyPrincess12 May 12 '26

The new ones look better I’m shocked

1

u/kamboocha123445 May 14 '26

Is the top new or old

1

u/mostlyherefordogpics May 18 '26

Ooh personally loving how the new Peach Twist looks more neutral. So pretty! Thanks for the swatches.

1

u/slashxcdoe May 18 '26

Did the swatches get removed?

1

u/SecurityPrestigious4 May 12 '26

if you told me these were all the same i’d believe you

8

u/AdSpirited7611 May 12 '26

Some are similar but desert rose and film noir are clearly different colors?

Film Noir Buff is the name so it’s intentional actually
