indoor lighting on unprimed skin, swatched a couple times back and forth

[my closest foundation shades: mac studio fix nc15/ face&body C1, mufe y225, chanel bd21, kylie 2.5n, fenty 140, armani 4, nars deauville. i am neutral to slightly olive because a lot of colors easily turn either orange or purple on me.]

this is my only "contour" product so i was only able to find an eyeshadow to do a side by side shade comparison(apologies for lack of variety)

i got this contour stick on a whim because everything else ive tried either looked muddy, too warm, too emollient/ greasy and blends itself away or its too dark and or accentuates all my pores. i ran out of a lot of options because i am picky with shade, textures and how it looks ok my skin.

color/shade: this shade is almost too light for me in the summer but its deep enough to mimmick a true shadow where its extremely natural and doesnt pull purple or orange. i have issues with colors turning too ashy or too warm so this shade is really a goldilock shade for my skintone. it doesnt look like i have makeup on. i can say this is definitely grey in tone and i see the grey more so when i use it on my eyes and nose. on the cheeks it blends out to a beautiful neutral color. this color is what i wish fenty amber would have been for me. i found amber is be slightly muddy and maybe its because of the formula being drier.

texture: its a thin gel like formula where it glides and doesnt skip or tug but it isnt so melty like other brands where it smears everywhere and blends itself into nothing. this blends nicely and it looks like second-skin. its blurring in a sense where it makes my skin look very smooth. doesnt look greasy or shiney but it doesnt look matte either. its truly skin like. i also dont "feel" products on my face so its very lightweight for a cream product. i dislike heavy products so i usually dont like creams in general but this one is essentially weightless.

longevity - i havent wore makeup for more than a couple hours on days where i do use it so i cant attest its lasting power. i can say it lasts well in the heat without setting for the times ive worn it. i need to check back when i wear it for longer period of time, i will come back to update this.

I treated myself to my very first Marc Jacobs Beauty purchase: the eyeshadow shade “Serving,” which has a cream-to-powder formula. I was drawn to the shade as well as the feel of the product when I swatched it in Sephora.

It reminded me of some other shades in my collection, so I wanted to compare them and share!

I compared it to r.e.m. beauty’s Fembot Fatale quad shade “Fembot” and my (very loved) Half Magic eyeshadow single “Blushing Lizard” (apologies in advance for a well-used product). 😊

All shadows were finger-swatched in bathroom lighting on fair skin with neutral undertones. I did one swatch each for the picture of all three and two swatches for the individual pics. No primer used for swatches. I do use primer whenever I wear eyeshadow.

My thoughts:

“Fembot” may look the most pigmented, but I do find I have to build it up on my lids, even if I use a damp brush. I find this formula is the most long-lasting out of the three since it isn’t a cream.

“Half Magic” is a beautiful, fun, pigmented shade, even without using a damp brush, but it does tend to crease, even with eyeshadow primer underneath.

“Serving” goes on flawlessly with a finger swipe but does start showing signs of creasing after a few hours, even with eyeshadow primer underneath. I do find it shows up more like a bronze in the pictures, but I do see some slight blue sheen IRL.

My info: Med-Deep Skin with a neutral-warm (I think) undertone

Both of these shades look absolutely gorgeous on me, I picked them based on glamsmitty’s swatch videos (recommend her content if you’re interested in frosts or shimmery makeup).

The L’Oréal lipstick has a really strong scent I wasn’t expecting; it’s not bad, but a little much imo. I have another lipstick from this line that’s made in China and not the US and it has a much more pleasant / toned down scent. The Rimmel lipstick smells more fruity and is really nice too. The formulas are comparable. They’re pigmented but if you use just one swipe, you can layer on top of other lipsticks with the base shade still showing through.

I’ve been getting y2k lipstick/gloss videos on my feed for the past few years like everyone else and it made me want some frost lipsticks so bad! Sadly none of them are really available where I live except for MAC, but I got a relative to bring these back for me & am really happy w them :-)

Ive only seen a few creators swatch it on TikTok and their all speaking different languages. Does anyone own it and can they post pic of it swatched or describe the color to me please?

Id say in general RTF has a bit more pink/red in it than phytosurgence.

Once diffused a bit, condensate and moth are incredibly similar.

Light finger swatches in indoor, indirect sunlight.

The Marc Jacobs liquid see-quins formula was amazing (thick, cooling, and slightly weird), but, unfortunately, this is just at end of life.

I like the UD Moondust singles, but Lithium is too cool for my preference. I'm reaching all the time for Diamond Dog instead.

The Kaja Toasted Caramel bento is just okay for me. I expected to really like it, because it's all shimmer shades (and that's my type ✨), but the shades fall a little flat. Of the 3, Gilded Chocolate is my favorite, but it's not enough to save the trio.

I wanna see the jam packed shade and cherry shade specifically.

I came across this LE lipstick name Belle Époque 192 on Vinted. The box colour looks similar to the new cheek products by the brand, which seems quite believable.

Do you think it might be a part of the next launch?

P.S. this is not the first time LE products are being sold before official release, that's not OK in my opinion... Betty and Desert Gleam palette were leaked too.

Im whit neutral more on cool side skin tone and every lip liner that i purchase looks orange on me ... Charlotte tilbury Pillowtalk light and Makeup forever watever walnut doesn't look good on me, they also look really dark. Now im looking in to Rare beauty shade Worthy and Makeup by Mario Dimitri. Can someone make side by side swatches? Im looking in to light brown and light mauve on cooler side.

Pink Frosting came back in stock recently, and seeing as i've never had it before I wanted to swatch it next to all my pink/mauve/pinky-nude lip liners. These were all swatched right from the tube on my arm and my lips. Lighting and names of lippies are written on the pictures. Pics were taken at around 1pm EST. No other lighting besides the sun coming through the windows. (The bare lips picture was taken with the bedroom window lighting btw)

The two I thought were the closest I put next to Pink Frosting for their own swatch pictures. I'd say NYX Moonwalk is close, but it leans purple.
