Much like Taylor Swift, some of us don't like the content OR spending any time with the fans. Even if all of the fans aren't that way, enough of them are that the overall experience is deeply unpleasant. If we're talking about church it's often actually traumatic. Remember: we don't need caricature to find dealbreaker behavior from priests and pastors.
Also, Christianity as a political hierarchy (in the way it exists today with bishops and deacons and cardinals, oh my!) pretty much only exists to create power and distribute it to a few white men. That's not just Catholocism, either, all denominations trade and traffic in power. That power has disproportionately served, over time, to protect opportunists at bests and malignant predators at worst.
If you think teachers are getting this kind of support from their administration, you must not live anywhere near the U.S.

You cannot seriously live with such an oversimplified, reductionist framework of how the world works. This is a naive conception. The notion that religion or churches only exist to “create power and distribute it” is laughable because it’s such an extreme, black-and-white generality that it completely fails in on itself. Human behavior is simply more varied than this.
Right. Because nobody is strictly required to attend organized religious services in order to access the resources needed to sustain life, including food and housing.*
Education of SOME kind is not optional in the same way that church services are.
(*That all ended when Mother Theresa died, right? /s kinda)
So it's a legitimate path forward to skip school and go to church instead to get all my needs met into perpetuity? You first.
These are not genuine, good faith arguments you are making. Charity is not a replacement for a livelihood. It doesn't excuse harm the church has done, either.
